Look. I'm not saying I'm weak by any means. I mean, I'd put myself in the top 10 strongest people in creation, easy. There aren't a lot of people in the multiverse that could actually take me on and live. But I'm just a normal guy who got these powers. I don't have Michael's angel lineage, or Evan's natural magic, or Crystal's psychic prowess, or even Aaron's raw power. But I'll tell you something. If there's one thing I have above all seven other purveyors? It's that I'm goddamn resourceful. And I'm willing to do whatever it takes to be the strongest. And that's why, even if I'm the "weakest"... I'LL NEVER LOSE TO ANYONE!

Summary[]

Zephyr is a main character in Champions of Chaos, in the the Eden era of Deus Ex Gyrus. His role has varied from protagonist to supporting role, but he is the original focus of the story, and ultimately the one to end it. He is the soul that was chosen by Etro to test Deus Ex's Apoptosis System, allowing the machine to simulate the end and rebirth of a Multiverse.

Born in what was once the United States, Zephyr traveled the world with his military father, never able to settle until he got sick of his life and ran off to live on the streets. Here, he met Alana Garcia, a fellow street urchin who fled her abusive home, and the two became fast friends. Unfortunately, the two were picked up off of the streets by the criminal organization Proteus, which aimed to create human-monster hybrids to act as supersoldiers in their coup against the United World Military.

Zephyr received the essence of a Kitsune within him, becoming one of the first Hybrids alongside Alana and a girl named Crystal Rosario. Together, the three and their fellow hybrids escaped captivity, but they would be quickly picked up by the UWM afterwards, inducted into their child assassin program, Black Swan, to cover up the actions of Proteus. This program, as well as the aggression caused by his essence infusion, caused Zephyr to turn aggressive and bloodlusted, enjoying combat and wanting to prove he was the strongest. This quest has taken him across the Multiverse, always trying to prove himself as the top dog even when facing beings like the planet-busting Michael Ellend and the herald of Azathoth, The Warden.

During the Void Games arc, Zephyr became aware of the threads of fate binding everyone around him together. This "Plot", the narrative forcing the people he cared about to act in such ridiculous ways in order to serve the whims of some higher being, had been the cause of so much grief and destruction, and more personally, so much dissatisfaction and failure on Zephyr's part. He became listless and depressed by this revelation, not recovering until his final battle with The Warden. Here, alongside a certain young angel, Zephyr defeated not only The Warden, but the entire World Tree itself, becoming the next Throne God.

From humble beginnings as a homeless, purposeless child, to the glorious position of a guardian of reality, and ultimately to the role of destroyer of everything, Zephyr's fractured mental state and tragic surroundings would ultimately lead to the destruction of Eden, and the birth of Yggdrasil later down the line.

An Ark will always regenerate and eventually resurrect so long as their core remains untouched), Fusionism (Mavi can merge with Zephyr to increase his power and give him her abilities), Cloth Manipulation (Changes Zephyr's outfut when fused with him), Thread Manipulation (Can form a net of energy lines to catch attacks), Air Manipulation (Mavi is an Air-type and Light-type Ark), Light Manipulation (Mavi can form various hardlight constructs), Weapon Creation (Mavi reformed Zephyr's old Ray Saber, as well as massive hardlight fists and a hardlight Net), Attack Reflection (Mavi can catch an attack and send it back at her foes), Forcefield Creation (Mavi was able to protect Zephyr with a spherical barrier), Electricity Manipulation (Mavi can build up and release static electricity, that was able to paralyze Groose)

Plot Manipulation and Reality Warping (After awakening to the Threshold, Zephyr gained the ability to use God Ink, a substance found in sensories of Threshold beings or Gods that allow them to rewrite reality around them as if it were text on a page. These alterations take the form of flurries of glowing paper, or splashes of jet-black ink that melt holes in reality like acid. Zephyr only possesses a small quantity of God Ink, and can generally only use this technique once per battle. The abilities Zephyr either has performed himself or should know how to perform from watching other God Ink users like Michael will be listed here), Existence Erasure (Zephyr has used this ability to destroy Makeshift's body by stabbing him with his pen), Time Stop (By halting the flow of the "Plot", Zephyr can stop time to think of actions for himself), Causality Manipulation Teleportation (Through "What if?", God Ink users can retroactively change the positions of people and objects, even acausal beings like Zephyr himself, to cause them to attack each other and themselves), Fate Manipulation (God Ink users can write in the Book of Fate, allowing them to change the fates of themselves and others. Fate and Plot are considered two halves of the same coin, with the former acting as the future and the latter acting as the past, the two meeting in the middle to form the present), Soul Manipulation, Fission (Forcibly expunged a hollow from Alternate Michael's body), Dimensional Travel (Those awakened to the Threshold can move between areas by going "Offscreen", allowing them to access even otherwise-hidden places so long as the "Narrative" is focused on those places.   • Ray Saber: Zephyr's main weapon during his time in Black Swan. This sword projects a ray of hardlight in a Deltoid shape, functioning as both a blade and crossguard, and is able to cut through almost anything. Zephyr can also infuse it with his Fox-Fire, allowing him to further increase his cutting power.
  • Plasma Pistol: Zephyr's main sidearm. it is a pistol that fires bolts of yellow plasma, and he dual wields this with his sword to great effect. It has a maximum range of 200 meters.
  • Bifrost Codex: An ancient device that contains knowledge of all Bifrosts in the universe. Bifrosts are magical gateways that allow for instantaneous travel across interstellar or even galactic distances, and the Codex can not only track these, but track all of their usages by the aura of the user.
  • Astral Edge: A set of three crimson blades: A Katana, a Wakizashi, and a Nodachi. Obtained when Zephyr was awakened, these three swords allow him to cut through the fabric of space itself, each of them negating durability altogether.
  • Forgemaster's Hammer: The sacred relic granted to a wielder of Infinity, serving as a link between them and the Hellforge. This is an exceptionally durable weapon that can forge conceptual weapons and other sacred relics, and while Zephyr has only recently begun to use it in combat as a bludgeoning weapon, he is an expert with it as a tool of smithing. Some of the weapons Zephyr has forged with this are:
    • Dauntless: One of Zephyr's signature weapons. This is a crimson rapier with a golden hilt, and is imbued with the Practice Effect. Due to Zephyr's regular use of it, the blade has become nigh-indestructible.
    • Hardlight Ancient Blade: A hardlight blade made with ancient technology, that carves through machines easier than flesh.
    • Proteus' Lash: A sword with a peculiar, water-like blade, that can fold and stretch like a whip.
    • Soul Purge: A massive, crystalline greatsword that drives souls from bodies with a single strike.
    • Wraith Killer: A katana with regeneration-negating (Up to Low-Godly) properties, able to prevent the regeneration of Wraiths' shells.
    • Excalibur II: A holy replica of Excalibur, infused with Light.
    • Flame Piercer: A flaming spear.
    • Flaming Lancesword: A flaming sword that turns into a lance.
    • Breaker Hammer: A hammer that deconstructs whatever it hits.
    • AI-Killer: A straight sword capable of destroying data, allowing him to bypass the defenses of AIs and cybernetic beings.

  • Mavi: An Ark, a sentient weapon that manifests from its user's soul and forms from a Core made of a material called Arkanite. The core of an Ark determines their personality and abilities. Zephyr's ark, Mavi, takes the form of a young girl with reminiscence to Alana, but made entirely of cloth and leather even down to her body and hair. Mavi is an energetic, cheerful Ark of the Light element, who is able to create constructs of Hardlight to aid her wielder, Zephyr. furthermore, through a mode called "Driver Form", an Ark can transform into energy to empower a wielder, changing their outfit and speaking to them telepathically. Mavi has shown the ability to recreate Zephyr's Ray Saber, as well as form hardlight fists to attack foes from a range. Defensively, she can form greenish barriers around Zephyr to protect him, and enhance his body with light-aspected energy to fire hadoken-like balls of spiritual power. She has also stated to be able to read souls, and has shown that she can enter Zephyr's pocket dimensions. Finally, Mavi has stated that she possesses a super art called "Wild Down", but this has not been shown yet.
  • Multiversal Weaponry: Zephyr's dimensional travel has caused him to come into ownership of various weapons and items from across the multiverse (Note: Zephyr should only recieve the abilities of the weapons that he directly shows). These include:
    • Ebony and Ivory: A pair of pistols once wielded by a certain devil hunter. These pistols are able to fire far faster than they might appear, as well as being stated to hold infinite ammunition, and Zephyr can fire bullets of dark energy from them.
    • Sword of Protection: A holy sword once wielded by a Princess of a faraway planet, near the center of that universe. This sword can deflect energy attacks, and is capable of changing its shape to whatever Zephyr may need at the time, including a shield, ladder, whip, or boomerang, among others.
    • Dojutsu: A pair of eyeballs, stolen from their original owners. The first, the Sharingan, can be used to cast illusions upon people known as Genjutsu that can alter even their sense of time, making them live out three days in an instant, while the second, the Rinnegan, confers various abilities. Zephyr has shown that he can absorb energy with it.
    • Oathkeeper and Oblivion: A pair of key-shaped swords, wielding the powers of light and darkness and born from the memories of one's bonds. Zephyr can dual-wield these in rapid tandem, and manipulate Light and Darkness with them.
    • Kingdom Key: A strange large key, that acts as a blade despite its blunt shape, wielded by a guardian of Light in an ancient war. Zephyr can use this keyblade to unlock any lock, as well as lock any door shut, through beams of light, and he can generate portals by firing beams from its tip.
    • Zangetsuto: "Moon Sunderer", a sword wielded by a samurai in a cursed land. Said to be able to cleave the very moon in two, this sword excels at slaying any creature with an alignment with the moon, especially Vampires.
    • Pumpkin: A high-tech railgun with multiple modular parts, used by a revolutionary sniper in an oppressive empire. Zephyr can swap out the parts of this gun for various ranges, and its power increases greatly the more danger he is in.
    • Incursio: A sword containing a draconic Suit of Armor, used by a revolutionary swordsman in an oppressive empire. Zephyr can use Incursio to turn invisible, slowly react and adapt to attacks like heat and electricity, and summon a spear to his side.
    • Arma Reboare - Muchorin: A legendary staff, forged by a witch and used by a girl with three souls. This staff can fire beams of energy that can reshape any matter on an atomic level, turning even the plagued Saryn into a plush that lacked the power to so much as move, let alone use her disease conceptual art.
    • Interfectum Malus - Ookami: A legendary Nodachi, forged by a witch and used by a time-traveling Ronin. This blade nullifies magic around it, and is able to sever people from their connections of power. Zephyr could use this to sever The Warden from The Maelstrom, temporarily nullifying Perfect Parry when he struck him and giving the Champions of Chaos time to breathe.
    • Tsukuyomi Unit: A godly shield, used by the queen of vampires. This barrier is strong enough to block even reality-warping attacks, able to stop the Black Hole cannon of the Deus Mortem dead in its tracks for five minutes straight.
    • Buster Sword: A massive blade with two slots for Materia, used by the guardian of his planet's very life energy. The blade is nigh-indestructible.
    • Dragonslayer: A dull, colossal sword more comparable to a hunk of raw iron, wielded by a berserk demon killer from a haunted world. This blade is able to attack foes that exist on the Astral Plane.
    • Nichirin Blade: A katana whose blade absorbs sunlight, used by the demon-hunting corps of antiquity. Zephyr uses these when performing Breathing techniques, increasing the range of his attacks with shockwaves and beheading demons in a flash.
    • Balmung: A long, silver claymore wielded by the legendary draconic hero of germanic myth. This blade has an incredibly fast release time for its ability, which allows it to fire a massive beam of blue energy.
    • Clarent: A wide, crimson sword wielded by the traitorous knight of Arthurian Legend. This blade draws upon the hatred and anger of the wielder (Of which Zephyr has plenty), to unleash a massive wave of red energy.
    • Excalibur: A holy sword blessed by fairies, and wielded by the most famous hero of them all. This sword fires an incredible beam of Holy energy that can pierce the skies, and outshines Balmung and Clarent greatly.
    • Photon Ray: A strange sword from another planet, wielded by their last child who fell to earth. This blade is made of light beams, allowing it to flex and extend like a whip, and when released, it can call down a massive orbital laser that shaves off existence and tears space itself.
    • Monohoshi Zao: A simple, but long japanese sword, wielded by history's greatest loser. It has no supernatural properties on its own, but is of expert make and durability.
    • Gae Bolg: A long, barbed spear of crimson, wielded by the irish berserker of fame. This blade can negate the regeneration of anybody it strikes, even Wraiths, and when thrown, it bends cause and effect to never miss its target.
    • Excalibur Galatine: A sword of the Sun, wielded by one of the Round Table's most kind and loyal soldiers. This blade contains a miniature pseudo-sun in its hilt, allowing it to fire off destructive solar flares right into its enemies.
    • Anti-Magic Sword: A pair of greatswords made of pure Anti-Magic. These swords are capable of nullifying any magic they touch, being the ultimate tool to use against mages by cutting through their shields.
    • Moonlight Greatsword: A massive crystalline greatsword, with a teal blade and a golden hilt. This massive sword possesses the ability to store moonlight within its blade, shaping it into ranged slashes of energy. Unlike the light of a sun-aligned blade, the Moonlight Greatsword cannot be manipulated by Michael or Moonfall, being a neutral state between Light and Darkness.
    • Morgott's Cursed Sword: A jagged, curved sword of opalized blood wielded by Zephyr. This weapon is as long as the Moonlight Greatsword, but is thinner and lighter, and Zephyr can use it to release trails of burning blood.
    • Crissaegrim: A sword whose blade is made of cursed wind, wielded by the son of the Vampire King. With every swing, it generates four cutting trails of wind, allowing Zephyr to carve foes up in a matter of seconds.
    • Lance of Longinus: A long, twin-pronged lance, wielded by the pilot of one of the most famous machine suits. This lance is capable of piercing through any forcefield, able to strike Radahn through his gravity shield.
    • Bolt of Gransax: A spiral-like swordspear, wielded once upon a time by a grand dragon. This weapon acts as both a spear and a sword due to its unique composition, and the wielder can fire massive bolts of crimson electricity through it.
    • Darkmoon Greatsword: A wedding gift that Zephyr received from Ranni the Witch. Like the Moonlight Greatsword, this weapon absorbs moonlight into its blade. however, the blade is entirely dark-aligned, drawing from Ranni's dark moon to create blades of deathly chill that freeze foes solid.
    • Yamato: A katana with a black sheathe, wielded by the brother of a famous devil hunter. The Yamato is a powerful blade whose blade is so sharp it can even cut through dimensions.
    • Joyeuse: A powerful, opalescent blade wielded by a king of Twelve Paladins. The blade itself is a fine and durable sword, but its power comes from when Zephyr unveils its true name. It can manifest the twelve weapons of Charlemagne's paladins, creating a rainbow flurry of thirteen rapid strikes.
    • Vasavi Shakti: A divine spear of mortality made of lightning, once wielded by the son of the sun god. A weapon that can even kill the gods, this spear can only be used once, but is capable of annihilating anything in a single strike, be it gods, divine beings, mortals, or even pocket dimensions. It can be fired as a beam of flame or a bolt of lightning.
    • Elden Ring: A great rune of order, used to enforce one's will across an entire world. Zephyr manifested this in his chest when battling The Virus, allowing him to create the Age of Stars in the middle of the battle, protecting his allies and armies from the Virus' erasure and corruption. The power of the rune is to make one's deepest desires into cosmic law.
    • Triforce: A set of three golden triangles, manifested on Zephyr's chest when battling The Virus. Made up of three pieces, the Triforce gives its wielder access to immeasurable wisdom, unstoppable power, and unshakable courage. The three pieces together are able to grant the wielder a wish, should they be pure of heart.
    • Infinity Gauntlet: A golden gauntlet with six multicolored stones set within it. This immeasurably-powerful cosmic artifact allows Zephyr to control Space, Time, Reality, Power, Mind, and Souls. With a snap of his fingers, he was able to wipe half of all of The Virus' armies from existence.
    • Mjolnir: A hammer with a cosmic, divine storm inside. This hammer is capable of absorbing energy, much like Magnhild, and can generate divine lightning and Cosmic Storms, which Zephyr combined with Ea.
    • White Lantern Ring: A white ring carrying the power of life itself within it. It is powered by the wearer's desire to preserve life, and is able to create any item the wielder wishes by manifesting this desire directly.
    • Ea: Zephyr's ultimate weapon. This weapon cannot quite be called a sword, more of a multi-segmented drill with a golden hilt and crimson segments. Its spinning generates dislocations in space-time, and it is capable of annihilating the boundary between heaven and earth. Zephyr has used this as a finishing move against Falkree and Drexus, the latter being killed once and for all by Zephyr's blade. It was through this weapon that Zephyr, amplified by Etro, finally put an end to the World Tree, destroying not only it, but the non-existent void around it, accessing Thronespace itself.
  • The Fatebuster Armor: Zephyr's ultimate trump card. Created in the Forge of Hell, overseen by Lucifer himself, this hellish-looking armor was created as a counter to Michael Ellend's Sol Dios. The black suit is made from an alloy of Mythril, Adamantine, Orichalcum, and various other magical metals, stained black through its infusion with Darkness from Lucifer Himself. The suit is nigh-indestructible, having only been cracked by The Warden, and furthermore, is infused with a page ripped from the Book of Fate, a sacred relic of the gods which determines the fate of all living beings within the World Tree. Through this page, which possesses Zephyr's own fate within it, Zephyr can destroy inevitable outcomes, allowing him to overcome the power of Ink Manipulators like The Warden and Michael. Beyond this property, The Fatebuster Armor possesses a myriad of other abilities. It can reform its shape to become sleeker or bulkier, fire a large chest laser that can damage The Warden's Fakebuster, regenerate damage upon itself, and restore stolen souls, as done with Alana.

Intelligence: Genius. Zephyr became one of the top swordsmen on Earth in a few weeks of training, later able to battle against centuries-old or even millennia-old warriors like Moonfall and Drexus despite not keeping up with his training. In a single year of training under Lucifer's tutelage, Zephyr mastered every type of weapon known to Man, to the point where he gained an understanding of their inner workings enough to forge them perfectly. He's acrobatic and evasive enough to balance on the tip of someone's blade mid-combat, deflect bullets moving at a similar speed to him, and slice three times in a single breath to create an undodgeable technique. He could discern all of Asaatur's movements from his tiny twitches and changes in the air pressure around him. He has mastered a myriad of different sword techniques and styles from across the World Tree. Zephyr is also a master blacksmith; It took him only two tries to figure out how to forge and alter Conceptual Weapons, and he was able to repair Drexus' poison saber and recreate it to a greater degree of effectiveness later. Despite everyone around him being bound by fate and plot, Zephyr was able to use his ability to change fate to change the greater fate of the Garden of Eden, and formed a plan that allowed him to defeat The Warden on three separate instances, when The Warden was able to effortlessly defeat the other seven Champions. Mastered Maelstrom in under a week to a degree not seen by anyone in the history of the Void Dojo, all for simple understanding. Despite his standoffish attitude, Zephyr has a knack for figuring out what makes a person tick, allowing him to not only manipulate foes mid-battle as shown with Falkree, but draw people to his side and keep them in line, even with subordinates as unruly as Moonfall, who was once Zephyr's greatest enemy, and Drexus, the holder of the seven deadly sins. He was able to convince Darkheart, his dark reflection, to willingly return to his body, when dark reflections are inherently drawn to kill their originals and take them over. Convinced an alternate universe Zephyr, who had become depressed and listless and had abandoned his teammates for years after the Michael in his universe was corrupted and made into a tyrant, to keep going and help rebuild the world. Despite all this, Zephyr has a below-average academic ability due to his poor education, and can come across as rather blunt and simple due to his lust for battle. He also has a self-admitted lack of situational awareness, and has a habit of aimlessly wandering about the place.

Standard Tactics: Zephyr's skill in battle comes from his pragmatism and resourcefulness that he prides himself on. At a glance, Zephyr can discern how much of a threat a person is to him and adjust his level of lethality accordingly, and when fighting with lethal intent, Zephyr wastes no time going for a killing blow. When in a "Neutral" state - That is, against someone he has no particular counters for - Zephyr attacks with a flurry of blades and sword attacks, mixing up storms of weaponry and rapid close-quarters combat. He rapidly switches weapons with each strike, attacking with various different weapon types and elemental abilities to mix up his opponent and catch them off guard, while swapping between ranged and melee attacks. Zephyr, however, is primarily an adaptive opponent, taking note of his opponent's weaknesses and flaws and using his arsenal and tricky abilities to exploit them, as well as bantering with his foe to taunt them, make them lower their guard, or otherwise manipulate them emotionally. His aura, honed skill and enhanced senses aid him greatly in this.

Weaknesses: After awakening to the Threshold, Zephyr became listless and depressed, rarely using his full power. Has an inferiority complex due to being constantly surpassed by Michael, though after defeating his Alternate Self during the Hollow Hunt arc, Zephyr got over this. Zephyr is borderline-suicidal, and wishes to die in battle, and is willing to inflict incredible collateral, such as destroying the entire world tree, when facing a strong opponent. Holds back against opponents he deems to be beneath him. Despite his passion for swordfighting, Zephyr is rather lazy everywhere else, teleporting instead of walking and often shirking his responsibilities.

Notable Attacks and Techniques:

  • Kitsune Physiology: As someone who received the DNA of a Kitsune, Zephyr is no longer fully human. His strength, speed, durability, and senses all far exceed that of what is humanly possible, and he has a healing factor due to the longevity and immortality that full Kitsune possess. Zephyr gained a myriad of different abilities from this infusion.
    • Fox-Fire: Black or White flames that Zephyr can form at will. These flames can be used as projectiles, lights, toys, and more, and Zephyr is able to coat his claws and blades in them to be able to effortlessly pierce what he couldn't before.
    • Illusions: Zephyr's first signature power, granted to him by his hybrid biology. Zephyr's utilization of illusions was initially rather inept, used simply to hide his location or give him the visual appearance of someone else. However, as time has gone on, Zephyr's mastery of illusions have increased to a great degree, able to fool all five senses and cover an extremely wide area. The level of finesse Zephyr has over his illusory abilities is immense. Zephyr is capable of rendering himself and others entirely undetectable within any spectrum, even subconsciously leaving smaller, localized illusions that erase any trace of his previous presence in an area. These illusions are potent enough to fool even Jay Grimoire's many senses including his aura sense and more.
      • As time went on, Zephyr combined his illusions with his time and space manipulation to cast illusions upon his entire history, altering the memories of even others who were considered immune to such interference. Upon revealing his true self, Drexus noted that Zephyr's illusions were such that he had genuinely believed his original appearance was something that had been retconned.

  • Wind Magic: As a consequence of his hybridization and training, Zephyr awakened the Alpha Gene within his body, the gene that governs a person's ability to cast magic. Zephyr's particular element is Wind, allowing him to manipulate the air around him, as well as the currents of wind in the world. Zephyr can use this power to fly freely, form spheres of air around him to breathe in space, form cutting blades of air, create gusts to launch foes, and even summon up tornadoes to decimate large swaths of land. Zephyr adds this to his normal attacks, creating extra blades with every swing to cut his foe with unblockable levels of strikes.
  • Sleep Magic: Zephyr convinced the gods to teach him a little bit of divine magic for the purposes of detaining a light-corrupted Michael Ellend. This magic, Sleep, allows Zephyr to place anyone he touches to sleep. He places his hand on their forehead and states "SLEEP", and the magic automatically takes effect. He can also do this on himself.=
  • Flash Step: Learned from his time in Black Swan and Proteus. By stepping in a certain rhythm, Zephyr can move at incredible speeds, generating afterimages behind him while appearing to teleport. he can use this to keep up with Michael's Hermes Foot.
  • Dark Aura: An aura that Zephyr developed out of spite towards Michael. Compared to Michael's gold and cyan aura of heroism, Zephyr creates an aura of bloodlust, representing his inner soul and desire for battle. He can use this aura to sense the souls around him and predict their movements by reading their intentions, and this aura has enough pressure to trigger heart attacks and drive others insane with vivid hallucinations.
  • Miscellaneous Techniques: Zephyr has practiced a variety of techniques that he has learned during his many travels, never stopping but always picking up something to take with him. These techniques are varied and come from across the World Tree, but are primarily sword-based in nature, or taking advantage of Zephyr's immense aura.
    • Shadow Clone Jutsu: By performing a series of hand signs, Zephyr generates up to six clones of himself around him. These clones are capable of all of Zephyr's major abilities, but they can only take one solid hit before vanishing into smoke. Notably, Zephyr gains all the knowledge and experience from the clones when they vanish, their skill returning to him.
    • Tsubame Gaeshi: A peerless sword technique, activated by striking three times in a single breath, nearly bending causality and reaching the level of true magic. When Zephyr uses the Tsubame Gaeshi, three slashes of energy appear around him as he appears to strike three times at once, creating a sword strike unblockable by any swordsman regardless of their ability.
    • Susanoo: Zephyr solidifies his aura into a spectral, but physical Avatar, first building the ribcage, then skeleton, then skin and armor. Zephyr's Susanoo comes with multiple swords that can increase the range and power of his attacks, and the barrier that Susanoo forms around him cannot be pierced by the intangibility of Wraiths.
    • Breathing Techniques: A style of swordsmanship practiced by the demon slayer corps of antiquity. These sword techniques utilize the user's breath and concentration, emitting shockwaves and air blades from one's weapon and giving the appearance of elemental effects around them. Zephyr has demonstrated Thunder Breathing, Water Breathing, Fire Breathing, and Wind Breathing techniques.

Aether Infinity

One of the Eight Chaos Elements, the term used by the gods of Eden for the eight colors of Aether that they hold dominion over. The Chaos Elements are each composed of the fundamental information that shapes all concepts, being the stuff from which reality springs forth. Zephyr, in particular, holds dominion over Purple Aether, or "Infinity". Sometimes called Quintessence, and always taking on a violet hue, Infinity is the element that holds dominion over dimensions, commanding power over Time and Space. Through this power, whose dominion is held by Chronos and Cosmos, Zephyr is able to control the very fabric of reality as he sees fit. It is among the strongest elements in terms of raw power, second only to Mana in that regard, and while Zephyr's usage of it is not as gifted as Michael's with Light, he is still nonetheless a force to be reckoned with. Uniquely, Zephyr is the only member of the Champions of Chaos to not be corrupted by his element; In fact, his positive beliefs have only been amplified by his mastery of it.

  • Spatial Cutting: The first Infinity technique that Zephyr learned to wield, having trained with Cosmos before Chronos. Zephyr is able to cut through the fabric of Space itself, infusing his weapons with a space-severing aura. Through this, he can create portals by cutting the air, negate the durability of objects he cuts, and suck opponents into rifts he carves into reality with the slices of his weapons.
  • Teleportation: Another one of Zephyr's main techniques. Zephyr is able to instantly teleport in a flash of violet or crimson light, appearing elsewhere with zero time passing. He has a habit of spamming this a decent bit, teleporting around rapidly due to being too lazy to walk.
  • Phasing: A technique taught to Zephyr by the god Chronos. Zephyr is able to split himself between past and future, briefly traveling an instant forward and backward in time. This allows him to not only blink forward in a manner similar to teleportation, but avoid any attacks by simply not existing at the point where they strike him.
  • Infinity Cores: Solid Pieces of Infinity that are generally 7 feet tall, as every one of them is born from the previous version of such on the Timestream. For these cores are what reside at the heart of so many parallel universes, be it Temporal or Fantastic, fueling the growth and expansion at a steady rate. Zephyr can create these to create cosmic expansion, literally generating distance between himself and his opponents.
  • Singularity Generation: Zephyr can generate Black Holes with little effort, as well as dispel them with a wave of his hand. These black holes are strong enough that even light cannot escape their pull, giving him a good method of nullifying light attacks from the likes of Michael. This would later be amplified when he unlocked the Maelstrom.
  • Dimensional Travel: Zephyr's main usage of Infinity. Zephyr is a wanderer and a traveler, using his divine privilege to travel about the world tree, experiencing hundreds of different lands, learning their techniques, and traveling back in time for dinner. He does this by creating portals, literally tearing open space-time to travel to other dimensions, and he can even use this to navigate the infinite void. Zephyr can toss people through these portals to trap them in other worlds, slam them down on foes to cut through them outright, or navigate between cracks in space to attack foes from a portal opened behind them. Most notably, however, Zephyr uses these to store weapons, grabbing them whenever he wants to change equipment, or outright opening hundreds of portals to rain down storms of weapons onto his foes like a certain golden king. Zephyr possesses an awareness of whatever is in the dimensional space around him, preventing him from grabbing the wrong thing in the heat of battle.
  • Gravity Manipulation: Zephyr is able to manipulate Gravity as he pleases, as is evident from his ability to create Black Holes. Beyond that, however, he is able to alter the gravity of hundreds of individual blades at once, manipulating them through a mix of gravity and telekinesis and turning his surroundings into a storm of blades arrayed in spinning buzzsaw patterns, indiscriminate barrages, or even wings of blades that Zephyr can use to amplify his flight. Zephyr's Blade Manipulation is what he prides himself on in combat, so he tends to use Gravity Manipulation often.
  • Time Manipulation: Though it is not something Zephyr generally uses himself, he has shown the ability to stop time before, as well as reverse the time stops of other Time users like Evan. He has shown the ability to accelerate his own time to amplify his speed by at least six times, and with great effort, he can even travel through time, genuinely altering the future through his changes to the past. However, such a thing requires giving up his body to travel into the past.
  • Temporal Clones: Shown only upon his final battle against Deus. Zephyr has shown that he was storing up an ever-growing army of Temporal Clones of himself within his many pocket dimensions. These clones possess Zephyr's abilities and shared will. However, this technique is not something he will use in most scenarios. Even when fully serious against The Warden, willing to bring out Ea, Zephyr still did not use his clones until Deus manifested, indicating that he cannot use his clones due to saving his strength for that battle.

Aether Maelstrom

When Michael, Moonfall, and Zephyr were exposed to the harmful energies of the void, the three of them acquired fragments of the three great powers. Zephyr acquired the Maelstrom, the force of balance between the chaos of the Warp and the order of the Great Eye. The Maelstrom is an infinite storm of swirling Infinity saturated by Void, a black hole that constantly emits power instead of sucking it up, and Zephyr can tap into its power to manipulate it to great effect.

  • Maelstrom Beams: By opening up Maelstrom rifts angled away from himself, Zephyr can fire out storms of indigo lightning. After a brief time, this lightning compresses and solidifies into a pure violet beam, that ripples spacetime and annihilates anything in its path.

Aether Ink

The colloquial term for Black Aether, and sometimes known as "Plot". Ink is a rarely-seen element of Aether, one utilized only by a select few and above the bounds of the gods, having no patron deity and no purveyor to control it. Ink manipulates the past and future, controlling the narrative of reality to influence it in whatever way the user wishes. Through altering the past, "Plot", and the future, "Fate", the user can alter any event they want, making themselves utterly invincible. Michael gained this through Drexus, having absorbed his soul fragments during his worst case of Light Corruption, and has a more powerful usage of it than Zephyr.

  • "What If?": A This completely freezes fate, causing all events to stop around them by simply preventing them from occurring. During this time, the user is free to act as they please, changing their surroundings via brainstorming, causing opponents to attack each other or themselves with their own attacks. Zephyr used this to expunge a hollow from Alternate Michael.
  • The Threshold: A realm beyond the World Tree, and beyond even the Void. Thought by some to be lower layers of Deus Ex Machina, and by others to be a secret place run by shadowy beings called the "Writers", this place acts as an area where users of Ink can hide, moving "Offscreen" from the perception of other beings to observe them from a higher plane of existence. Through this, the user can view any spot they want, zeroing in on what is "narratively important" to travel to there instantly.

Aether Stars

The secret 10th Aether color. Silver Aether, or "Stars", is the opposite to Ink, representing the profound power of human will. It is Stars that fuel human imagination's endless creation of fantastic branches, gives them the power to fight gods, and manifests as the ultimate force that can take a mere human like Zephyr to a state of Divinity. Stars is the element of "Defiance", and has no patron deity, as even the gods cannot wield this power. Only Zephyr has the ability to call upon the power of stars, and even he cannot do it consciously.

  • Accelerated Power Level: Star Aether allows Zephyr to dramatically increase his power, allowing him to match The Warden when he was wielding his own Fakebuster, a perfect-parried armor set that mimicked the Fatebuster and possessed a similar power amplification to it. It seems to only take effect against divine beings like The Warden, not having taken effect against a Light-Corrupted Michael.
  • Negation of Plot Manipulation: Zephyr was able to overpower The Warden's Copyright Strike, a technique that was able to erase the Fatebuster from the narrative altogether. As Stars are the natural counterpart to Ink, Zephyr is able to cancel out Ink-based techniques with this ability.

I know that from experience, and I've seen it firsthand. We're petty, we're frail, and we're not all that impressive to look at. BUT. We're resourceful, imaginative, and above all else: Smart. After all, it's humans that fuel the World Tree's growth. Art, Stories, Music, Games, Film... Entire macrocosms all in the palm of our hand.

There are laws that even you can't impose, Warden. Humanity is many things, but they aren't your prisoners. We can defy fate. We can and have so many times before. You can keep knocking me down all you want, but I'll just keep getting back up! That's why I use powers from other worlds, Warden. For my entire damn life, I've been nothing but a puppet and a weapon, adrift in an endless current of fate. All my actions across my entire existence have been nothing but meaningless symbolic victories. I killed the leader of Proteus with my bare hands, only for them to come back and supplant a galaxy-spanning government without any of those human idiots being any the wiser. I destroyed Ashtar's army of demons, Moonfall's dark onslaught, The fallen gods Agmar and Shandar, The chaos prince Slaanesh, and even the goddamn world eater. I've killed so many threats, but it's never mattered, because I've never been meant to do anything but act as a pawn.

All this 'plot manipulation', the complete idiocy and passivity of everyone around me, the truth of my own existence as someone who can't do anything as the world crumbles around him. Constantly bound by rules beyond my control, beyond this world's control, all for the entertainment of someone who would happily use his peers as a tool to enforce his shitty narrative.

And you know what? I'm sick of it. I'm sick of the monologues, I'm sick of the musical numbers, I'm sick of all the contrivances and contradictions that make up this fragile excuse for a reality. And do you know what the worst part is? you expect me to just run with it, like I'm not even real. I've had nothing for so long now.
