Summary[]
Warrane Ambre is one of the protagonists of Valhalla: Hellcity, serving often as a leader of the group due to his extensive knowledge about the nature of Energy and combat between Triggers.
Initially unaffected by the Merry Christmas incident that caused millions to go into a coma, Warrane quickly grew obsessive towards the phenomenon and it's implications, which rippled through his dreams throughout the five years that ensued. Once the Triggers awoke, he came forward with the knowledge he had accumulated through those dreams, eventually being recruited to properly study the nature of their powers and Energy as a whole. This culminated in an experiment to artificially create Triggers, which he pushed for with ulterior motives in mind. Once it proved to only be a mild success by generating a fair number of level 0s, Warrane himself participated by force, ultimately leading to the deaths of 79 people.
However, given his expertise and the simple fact he became a Trigger, this lead to him being placed in probation within the hands of the Private Military Company, Alpha Centuri, which eventually deployed him into Hellcity to resolve the Unreality Killings. Naturally, his approach was aggressive, literally diving fully into the Red Gashes and leading his team to fully take advantage of an attribute none of them were aware of: The Seed of Evolution. Through this, they began to unearth a scheme to re-create the Light of Merry Christmas, turning the entire human population into Triggers.
Through Warrane's expertise and his constant pushing of barriers, alongside the determination of his fellow special operatives dubbed The Wife Beaters (By Warrane's suggestion), they tore through the ranks of those dubbed the Homewreckers (Also by Warrane's suggestion), eventually reaching their leaders and taking them on in one final battle, triumphing and stopping their ritual. But in the process of victory, the random events released seemingly jettisoned them from the fabric of reality, only to return 5 years later...
...And find that the Alpha Centuri they once worked with had staged a coup on the United States Government, completely transforming the country into an authoritarian state. The world was saved from destruction, but it needed saving from the overcompensation of Colonel Nolan.

His hairstyle is unkempt, leaving it's shape prone to variance (with one particular instance resulting in it sticking straight upwards like a patch of grass), colored a stark white as if the pigment was forcibly incinerated out. His eyes are similarly unusual due to his Trigger transformation, colored indigo. In comparison his attire is much more mundane, as he's mandated into the Alpha Centuri uniform of a simple black jacket, shirt and pants. Also mandated is his Military ID attached to a front pocket on his jacket, and the Energy absorbing battery on his ankle kept to ensure he's unable to go renegade while being tasked with operations.
Personality[]
After light shined across the world, Warrane was irrevocably shifted. He was already somewhat uncaring of people beyond his immediate circle, but as he started to be haunted by glimpses into Unreality, his obsessions slowly detached him even more. And when the Triggers did arrive, he was pushed yet further by existential dread as society began to buckle under the weight of over a million weapons of mass destruction coming into existence at once. With those two forces bearing down on him, creating Energy technology was easy, and manipulating his brother and country to give him power at whatever cost was even easier.
After the dust settled, his time spent detained and eventually deployed gave him room to consider his actions. While he never truly shifted away from a focus on himself and his circle, the clarity of his improved processing power and a now dispersed fear of death lightened up his willingness to commit atrocity to further those ends. Fighting alongside the Wife Beaters pushed that circle just a little outwards, and just maybe pushed his thought process to better places.

Intelligence: Extraordinary Genius (Even prior to becoming a Trigger, was one of the most knowledgeable people in the world in regards to Energy, being the one to effectively use materials from random events to develop Energy Batteries[6] and eventually collaborate with the government to produce a variety of experimental technology utilizing that basis, including the Prototype Nuclear-Energy Warhead[8] and Energy Revolvers.[3] After becoming a Trigger, his mental capacity increased substantially and granted him a photographic memory, allowing him to effectively track the entire battlefield and how each fighter is progressing through his prerequisites,[14] discern the nature of a Unique Power almost the moment after exposure,[14] and even recall the entire structure of the human body,[37] though he requires help to draw out this degree of information on short notice.[4] Capable of discerning through sheer intuition the nature of several Energy based phenomenon, including ones previously alien to him such as Gashes.[9] Progressively became more intelligent throughout the Hellcity operation as he gained further insight into the Energy Layer, going from B to SS Rank Intelligence, eventually reaching the stage that he could sort through and analyze more information than the entire internet combined[24])
Standard Tactics: Warrane's fighting style revolves around the ability to activate his Unique Power, controlling the flow of the fight to fill out more pre-requisites and inevitably hit a target with explosions that spawn directly on top of them. To this end, he primarily uses Hand to Hand combat, using Energy Attack and Flashstep to temporarily amplify his abilities and gain an advantage. If the fight drags on for a long enough duration, he may inevitably reach his Burst, using it to completely destroy an opponent via the sheer release of power. Beyond this, his tactics are heavily situational, often reacting directly to the abilities his opponents and using his Rulebreaker attributes or other miscellaneous tricks to mitigate the opponent's advantages.
Weaknesses: Warrane is obsessive over his level of power, wishing to exercise and enhance his use of energy as much as he possibly can, though his time with The Wife Beaters lead this to not take priority over his allies. He also bears a degree of arrogance, fully believing in his own capabilities and thus being willing to enter dangerous situations he may not be totally able to neutralize. Rulebreaker has a rather notable cooldown before he can use it to generate a Random Event deliberately, with most fights ending before this time can pass prior to V3 and further upgrades allowing him to hasten this timeframe. Doldrum of Imaginary Numbers prevents Warrane from regenerating his Energy, limiting his options for high expenditure attacks and ending the gradation layer if he runs out of Energy entirely.

Notable Attacks/Techniques[]
While Warrane's Unique Power was initially a rather straightforward ability to manifest explosions, the circumstances that molded it lent to a greater control of Energy, expanding his arsenal progressively throughout the duration of the Hellcity operation.
- Crunch: The direct form of Warrane's Unique Power. With it, he can send out signals based off specified pre-requisites to trigger an explosion of energy on desired targets. The prerequisites include positioning relative to chosen objects, confirmable kill count, clean hits taken, the amount of Random Events caused by the opponent, and the Energy they've expended. The power and chance for a Random Event behind explosions increases steadily with each pre-requisite used, going from a 6.25%, 8.3%, 12.5%, then 25% chance, all halved from ordinary chances thanks to his Rulebreaker properties.
- BURST; No Remainders: If all pre-requisites are fulfilled, Warrane's ability escalates to the point of converging into a laser that fires at a target and destroys the atoms in it's wake on every Layer. Notably, this does not exhaust Warrane's Energy, and if an opponent were theoretically to survive it could be fired repeatedly as long as it's conditions are met.
- Red Gash Creation: An ability Warrane gained after extensive research into Gashes, culminating into fruition during his battle with the Butcher of Streets. This allowed him to tear open holes to the Energy Layer known as Red Gashes, annihilating "anything and everything" in their wake and proving impossible for even Triggers to heal from without expertise in the Energy Layer. This ability grows stronger and thus more likely to activate with the more Triggers that Warrane kills. Boosts only carry partially in-between zones of active combat, but still has a noteworthy accumulation.
- Pico-Zetta Blast Cannon: An attack Warrane completely improvised for the rapid disposal of Gashes, allowing him to drain all of their Energy and make them unsustainable, before firing that as a laser towards a given target. After 7 Gashes closed it's overall power output seems to level off, but it's Energy cost decreases progressively, until expending none of Warrane's reserves.
Rulebreaker[]
While the Rulebreaker attribute is common to Triggers, Warrane's particular affinity with controlling Energy progressively took it to new heights. At it's base, it allows him to half the chances of Random Events in the area around him, as well as deliberately cause Random Events to a lesser extent.
- V2: After his battle with Blur and subsequent examination of the Hod Gash, Warrane gained the ability to choose what types of Random Events he can manifest, provided he's within range of a Gash. With his extensive knowledge on the fashions that Random Events can alter physics, this grants him an almost unlimited arsenal in such conditions.
- V3: After putting the Jesod Gash into stasis, Warrane gained the ability to also have Rulebroken Random Events ignore allies rather than choosing their effects, as well as hasten the ability's cooldown by pinging enemies with Crunch.
- V4: After the Chesed Assault, Warrane gained the ability to purposefully rescind Rulebreaker's reduction of Random Events, and within the range of a Gash, control the chances of any given individual within his range to either halve or double their chance of creating a Random Event. This also allowed Warrane to reduce the cooldown of his forced Random Events by causing Random Events naturally.
- V5: After battling The Lizard Wizard, Warrane's Rulebreaker reached it's peak, ascending it's ability to cause Random Events to be totally equal with a normally provoked one, halving it's cooldown and negating said cooldown if Doldrum of Imaginary Numbers is activated, and made Reality Recreation a reliable component of Warrane's arsenal.
- Reality Recreation: An ability Warrane prototyped during his fight at Jordan's Hair Saloon, before totally formalizing by Day 6. With this, he's able to weaken the potency of powers and especially Gashes by recreating reality, interfering with a Trigger's Energy directly.
Doldrum of Imaginary Numbers[]
Warrane's Gradation Layer, an isolated space that brings layers pertaining to the Trigger's unique power to the forefront to grant a variety of potential advantages. In Warrane's case, it summons a blend of the Mental and Mathematical layer, giving a perfect environment for the use of Crunch, among other benefits.
- Passive Effects:
- Crunch's overall power output is increased
- Allows Xander Phoenix to use Parabolic Trajectory to enhance the projectile attacks of allies
- Allows Soothsayer to affect the physical world with her abilities
- Aunt Sally's Fudge: Similarly to Xander Phoenix's Addition and Subtraction, Warrane is capable of altering the "rolls" of attacks in the Doldrum, making them stronger or weaker at a notable Energy cost.
- Astrolabe: Allows either Warrane, Xander or Soothsayer to warp the environment, creating geometric structures to complement Warrane's positioning pre-requisite, create obstacles, or directly attack opponents.
- Sequence Deviation: Allows either Warrane, Xander or Soothsayer to artificially alter the numbers related to Warrane's pre-requisites. This can be extended to the point that reality itself is bent to corroborate the alteration, with effects such as enemies losing Energy equivalent to an added expenditure, their spatial coordinates warping towards or away from specific objects, or potentially even reviving those they've killed from the dead, though the extent of this aspect has yet to be confirmed.
