Note: I'm using this blog as a generic minecraft storm dispersal/making blog. Since most, if not all, would scale to exactly this.
The player, with great effort, can cover the entire map of Minecraft in rain. Rain in Minecraft is global and the world of Minecraft is usually 30 million square meters. So covering the whole thing in a storm would require:
Pi*8000*30000000^2 = 45200000000000000000
45200000000000000000*1.03 =
46500000000000000000 Kg
Edit: Just found out Thunderstorms are apparently strong instability by default.
Strong instability is 4 kJ/kg
186000000000000000000 kilojoules =
44455066921606.12 tons of tnt or
44455 Gigatons or
Around 44.46 teratons
Edit:
Found out minecraft really is 60 by 60 million, not 30 by 30.
Pi*8000*60000000^2 = 90000000000000000000
90000000000000000000*4 = 360000000000000000000
360000000000000000000 kilojoules or 86 teratons
