Introduction[]

It is my dream to make my own verse with stands in it. I still don't know what I'll call it, but imagine the protagonist ventures into her backyard and falls into a portal, finding herself in a vast world where stands are everywhere; entire civilizations and ecosystems all built around stand abilities. Stands encounters can happen anywhere at any time, and the stands themselves come in all varieties of shapes and sizes. At the time of writing this, I haven't worked out the details of how this world work operate, but that's the kind of world all of my stand OCs will be created for. Keep this in mind.

The stands in this blog post will be heavily based on the album Brontosaurus, made by the a capella group known as Da Vinci's Notebook. These stand users will comprise a team of 10, with 9 of them intended to be joke characters who pose a D to C tier level threat at best, while the "leader" is the only. They all live inside the Brontosaurus, a self-operating, user-less vehicle stand.

The Users[]

The Gates[]

This song is the first in the album. It tells the story of a man who gets so frustrated at his computer that he climbs to the seventh story of his office building just to throw it down. This doesn't satisfy him, and he decides that it's Bill Gates' fault, and proceeds to track him down, only for Bill Gates to hide underground after finding out about the singer's scheme.

My idea for the design is this:

The gates

The stand's arms are made of small discs. These discs can release and be telekinetically controlled by the stand for long-range combat. Each disc has sharp edges that can cut through various materials when the discs spin rapidly enough. However, each of the discs are just as fragile as a normal CD and can shatter easily, and each shattered disc translates to a cut on the user's arm. While the discs themselves can regenerate within minutes, the user's cuts still take as much time to heal as any other wound, so excessively throwing out discs isn't a good idea, and the user must be meticulous with the discs.

Internet Porn[]

This song is the second in the album. It details a man who, after getting bored with porn magazines, happens upon internet porn and details the whole new universe of options that have been opened up to him with this discovery. The degree of his interest gets more than a little concerning, with lines such as "Girl on girl on girl on girl on girl on guy on sheep", and, "When you're given so much to choose from, who has time to sleep?"

As a stand, Internet Porn has the ability to increase one aspect of the user's body by proportionally decreasing another. For example, it can increase the density of the user's muscles while decreasing stamina, grow the user's legs while shrinking their arms, enhance the user's vision while nerfing their sense of smell, increasing reaction speed while slowing down metabolism. This applies to just about any aspect of the user's body, but the ability has limits in that one aspect of the user's body cannot be multiplied by more than 2, and inversely, aspects cannot be decreased by more than 50%. If the user wants to increase one aspect of his body beyond 2x, multiple aspects must be decreased. Any body modifications that are made to the user are also made to the stand, and vice versa.

The triangular prism-shaped appendages are supposed to resemble the "skeleton" used for rigging 3D models in Blender. The head is supposed to vaguely resemble a goat skull, referencing the "girl on guy on sheep" line from the song.

The user will be emotionally distant, avoidant of social situations, and generally comes off as creepy and unfriendly. While his stand has a lot of potential in combat, he himself is not very smart and doesn't think too deeply about how to optimally manage the increases and decreases. For example, due to lack of knowledge, he fails to take into account that more goes into a punch than just raw arm strength, and will opt to strengthen his arms by shrinking his legs without regard for the role they play in throwing a punch. He also fails to consider that, "aspects of your body" entails almost anything; hair length, level of melanin in one's skin, eyebrow size, sense of smell, sense of taste, etc., all of which are things that are practically irrelevant for combat and can be decreased to 50% with very little drawback.

Heather Graham[]

This song is the third in the album. In it, the singer describes their overwhelming crush on Heather Graham. As the song goes on, the "crush" gradually turns to "obsession", into "parasocial relationship", and into "stalker". My personal favorite line in the song is, "The TV's on, why can't you hear me?", as it implies the singer's parasocial relationship with the actress has reached the point where he's delusional enough to try talking to her through the TV.

The TV-shaped head is supposed to represent the "the TV's on, why can't you hear me" line from the song. I googled "cursed TVs" and found a picture of a Lightning McQueen TV with wheels, a mouth, and everything (seriously, google it if you don't believe me), which I thought was perfect for the basis of the stand's body. I gave it all sorts of tentacles and claws to make it look like a "parasite", since the user is a "social parasite" who contributes nothing to society. The Three eyes represent how Heather Graham is the third song in the album.

The stand's tentacles have the power to phase through the human body and make contact with the brain. The smaller tentacles are able to stimulate the victim's brain in such a way that it can induce brief seizures, nausea, hallucenations (both visual and auditory), or memory alteration (via either the temporary removal of memories, or the creation of new ones that will fade away after a few days). The larger tentacles, on the other hand, are able to control the victim (as well as their stand, if they have one) like a puppet, but this requires all four of them to make contact with the target's brain simultaneously. Alongside this mind-controlling ability, Heather Graham can also travel about a distance of 10 meters away from the user, but physically its movements are relatively slow, and it is very lacking in strength, with its smaller tentacles barely being able to open drawers, and each of its larger tentacles being no more powerful than the average human arm.

Me Pants Fall Down[]

This song is the fourth in the album. The singer is a 300 pound man who eats 6 times a day thanks to his wife's cooking. The first verse is about how his belly is so big that his pants don't fit, so they just fall to the ground. Next, he tries a special diet and ends up losing a lot of his weight, but he lost so much that he's too small for his clothes, so they still fall down.

My friend's idea was to simply give it the power to make things like belts and zippers come undone. An ability that would create minor invonvienences at best. But

Here are some concept sketches:

The idea was to give the stand legs that are much larger in comparison to the body, in order to fit in with the whole "pants" theme of the song. I gave it six eyes to reference the "I eat six meals a day" line, but in hindsight a more interesting idea would be to give each member of the Brontosaurus's stands eyes that match the number of the song.

I Wish I Were[]

The fifth song in the album, I Wish I Were has the singer tell a love interest how they'd like to be various animals. A bird so he can fly above her and have her admire the beautiful spread of his wings, a dog so he could fetch sticks for her, a deer so he could play in the woods with her, and a monkey so he could be her personal jester. However, in every verse he realizes none of these would be good ideas, as a bird would have to fly south and leave her, a dog would have to be neutered, a deer runs the risk of getting shot, and a monkey smells like urine and throws its poop at the wall.

For this, the stand will be a humanoid. Like a monkey, it will have long, lanky arms, but with a smaller torso and legs. Like a deer, it will have horn/antler like appendages on the top of its head, and hooves instead of hands and feet. Like a dog, its belly will be a different color than the rest of its body, and it will have two floppy-ear like appendages on the sides of its head, as well as a black circle on its chin representing a dog's nose. Like a bird, it will have wings on its lower back. I gave it 5 eyes because it's the fifth song in the album.

Concept sketches:

Its ability is that it grants the user the power to transform into any animal, as long as the mass does not exceed 70 kilograms. When the user takes a form, that form must be maintained for a whole minute before transforming again or returning to human form. Another thing that occurs when the user transforms is that the stand itself will also transform to mimic the body shape of whatever animal the user is, while maintaining a distinct overall stand-like appearace and features. In this state, the stand will have all of the abilities of the animal in question as well as its strength and speed, but to an enhanced degree.

The user, despite his ability, absolutely hates animals and finds them all gross, to the point where he feels uncomfortable in his own skin whenever he transforms, and gets physically violent towards any animals that approach him. He also doesn't put a whole lot of thought into his decisions, often failing to take into account the "1 minute" limitation on his transformations, a habit that puts himself in situations where he is trapped in a very vulnerable state for a whole minute.

The Big Chair[]

The sixth song in the album, The Big Chair, is about a man driving down the road in his small truck, carrying the one possession he was able to salvage from a divorce with his wife; a big comfy chair.

Hot Soup[]

The seventh song in this album is all about how you can't eat hot soup with your bare hands. It's a song about sticking to doing the things that you can, while avoiding doing things that you cannot.

Since the song Hot Soup is all about warning you not to do something dangerous (that "something" being eating hot soup with your bare hands), I had the idea to theme the design around safety features, and driver's ed stuff just so happened to be on my mind when drawing it, so I decided to give it a steering wheel for a head. I intended for the body to be reminiscent of a "wet floor sign" in shape, but instead it came out as more of a "friend with four legs" instead. I also gave it roller skates because the idea of a stand themed around safety wearing something potentially very dangerous seemed funny to me.

The stand's ability is to cause air bags (the kind used in cars during the event of a crash) to pop up at high speeds in any location within 10 meters of itself, but only if something within that 10 meter range is moving faster than 10 mph. The motion of the airbags inflating is rapid enough to cause injury to humans if done at point blank. Air bags can appear on any surface, including (but not limited to); below the opponent, on Hot Soup itself, or even underneath the opponent's clothes. The airbags do not appear automatically, however, and can only appear at the stand's command, meaning the action of creating an air bag is dependent on the user's reaction time. Lastly, the movements of Hot Soup or its user do not count towards triggering the ability. Despite these setbacks, Hot Soup is potentially a very tricky stand to deal with in practice, as the average human punches at about 10-15 mph, meaning that almost any normal attack against it comes with the risk of being attacked by an air bag.

Enema Countdown[]

The eighth song is exactly what it sounds like. It's a song all about preparing your ass for an enema. In more general terms, it's about bracing oneself for a very unpleasant experience.

Concept sketches:

I had two different ideas for the design. They both have moon-shaped heads to reference the line, "Or the moon will speak to the cold ground". It's a line that I don't know the meaning of, but it's the one that stuck out to me the most, so I based the design off of it. Both designs also have intestines referenced at some point, with the first one having a little swirly tube at the bottom, and the other is just straight up vomiting the intestines out of its mouth. If I had to pick between the two, it'd be the second one, as I had the most fun drawing it. I still don't know what the ability would be, however.

Enormous Penis[]

The tenth song, and my personal favorite in the album, (I'm leaving the ninth for last, you'll see why later.) It starts off with the singer attempting to make a friend feel better, only to then be all like "here's what I do to help myself feel better" and talks about how looking at his massive dick fills him with joy.

Another Irish Drinking Song[]

The Brontosaurus[]

The Brontosaurus is a vehicle with eight wheels and ten different heads.
