Summary[]
Umia Tenebera is a high-level Supernatural currently living in Mardial City. Formerly a soldier of many wars, she is a Professor of Aura Control and Mastery at Mardial University, and a Mercenary for hire with a deeply scarred past.
To a great many people, she's known as the Lone Wolf of the North.
History[]
(Major W.I.P)
When she was born, her village was surrounded by darkness for three days. She was never expected to live past three years of age....but she did.
From the day she could first speak, other villagers would tell Umia that her birth was a blasphemous occasion and she was lucky not to have been thrown in a fire, neglecting and refusing to be anywhere near her. Nearly everyone feared her existence except for a single boy, —who became her first and only friend for the duration of her childhood; aside from him, it was only her own family who seemed to love and understand her.
And her childhood was a grueling one, if it could even be said that she had one to begin with. Not a season went by where Umia wasn’t sick from some sort of illness; no one knew quite what it was, but over time she learned to bear with it. She discovered her aura through pain, —and learned how to transform it into raw power. Though her body may have been weak, both her mind and her will were strong.
Frequently getting into fights, Umia would win every last one of them, —much to the chagrin of anyone who had the misfortune of getting on her bad side. Usually, she was simply ignored, but there were always peers that wanted to take advantage of her introversion, —often paying the price for it. For as long as she could, Umia, with her at the time grim and pale yellow aura, portrayed herself as a foe no one should face, -- but even this could backfire, especially when faced with people who had fought in wars.
Years passed before Umia experienced her first taste of real combat. Her early teenage years were riddled with angst and anxiety, yet simultaneously, she felt free. When she turned thirteen, she left her village, vowing never to return, and joined a band of mercenaries known as the Northern Hired Army. She expected the work would be easy and the pay would set her up for life.
She was wrong.
The battles she fought were gut-wrenching and trauma-inducing, —people were often killed in ways she didn’t even know were possible; her fellow mercenaries were initially very hard on her, chastising and slapping her upside the head for every mistake. But as Umia gained experience and tactical knowledge, things began to brighten ever so slightly. She became enlightened as to the world’s true nature: absolutely unpredictable.
The Hired Army’s finest hour would come about when they were contracted to fend off an invasion force by a politically-neutral city; conversely, this would be the battle that defined the remainder of Umia’s career. It was on this day that Miko had met Kade Demuras for the first time; their initial encounter was not one where they fought physically, although they did have the opportunity to gauge each other's strategies and abilities from afar.
Appearance and Personality[]
Umia has long, thick, and silky black hair that reaches just below her shoulders. Her bangs are neatly swept to the right across her forehead, covering her eyebrows and leaving just enough room for her intoxicating amber eyes to pierce through. Umia’s physical appearance is that of a strikingly beautiful and vibrant woman with cream colored skin and elegant proportions. Her attire is usually black, gothic and formal, consisting of an untucked dress shirt, jean shorts, and cleated boots; over this, she wears a long and foreboding trench coat with a studded, fanged skull belt around her waist.
Prior to her coming of age, Umia was very cold, violent, and self-centered. Due to the severe pain caused by chronic illness, she was extremely aggressive and feared by most others her age. Because life had been so cruel to her, she hated the idea of benevolence and self-sacrifice, believing that anyone who opposed her viewpoint was nothing more than a fool waiting to die- that they were ignorant of themselves. Operating only on instinct and emotional drive, there was little that Umia wouldn’t do to get by. A furious force of pure angst, she possessed a hair trigger temper and an unrelentingly self-righteous nature. Overall, her emotional aura at the time was not a very pleasant one.
As she grew older, Umia became a much more docile, down to earth being. Although she still contains a few traits of her past self, her overall aura is uneasy and gloomy; she was more of a sorrowful and longing spirit than a wrathful one. If one were to be around her, they would feel as if they were highly frustrated and full of pent-up anxiety. Umia dislikes her aura, noticing that it prevents her from making very many permanent friends. The few people whom actually like Umia, however, believe her to be an inspiring and empowered person. Despite their inherent fears, she remains highly respected by almost everyone that knows of her.
A competitive warrior at heart, Umia enjoys the thrill and glory of combat, especially when it comes to making her opponents look foolish. She believes in fighting smarter, not harder. But anyone who mistakes Umia’s strategic, careful fighting style for a weakness and assumes that she can’t kick or punch just as well would very quickly be proven wrong, as her training and years of experience make her an adept and gifted close-quarters combatant.

Weaknesses:
- Umia's Aura could eventually deplete, rendering her mostly powerless.
- Has shown a moderate weakness against provocation, although it depends on her mood.
- She's occasionally overconfident.
- Due to the nature of her Aura, Umia is considered very hard to trust.
- Despite having survived the date it should have killed her, Umia’s lifelong illness can still sometimes flare up, leaving her much weaker than normal for a brief time. Fortunately, these flare-ups only occur when she has exerted herself beyond normal limits, and have a 20/80 chance of becoming debilitating during combat. For medically unknown reasons, her Aura is unable to cure this illness.
Notable Attacks and Techniques[]
Aura Energy: The ability to manipulate and control Aura.
"Willpower": The ability to manipulate and/or increase the user's power via sheer force of will. Umia's Willpower is fairly high for a Supernatural. With Willpower Defense, Umia has resistance to all of the abilities listed on Gyrohem's page.
Aural Wither: A passive ability that can cripple the enemy by progressively draining their aural energies and leaving them powerless; the more they use their aura, the faster it will drain.
Dusk Tomb: An ability that allows Umia to seal her opponents in a lightless void, forcing them into a state of comatose limbo. This ability's effect only wears off if or when she runs out of Aura; in this case, those contained within the void are ejected, and Umia takes their aura to compensate.
Eyes of the Eclipse: An ability that allows Umia to see everything her opponent is thinking, including every possibility of what they might do, before even they themselves know it.
Radiant Burst: An ability that allows Umia to enhance her Willpower and shed her corporeal form to become what she refers to as an "Aural Angel," --she can attack and even destroy an enemy's astral body with this power. Although the ability is extremely powerful, she can only utilize it when the current celestial bodies in Gyrohem's sky -- be they Suns or Moons -- are at their vertical peak. It lasts for an entire day, although when the current celestial bodies set, her aura completely drains until she gets a certain amount of sleep, and is considerably weakened for the duration of an entire year. Because her current job as a professor demands that she utilize aura daily, Umia has promised herself to use this ability sparingly.
Feats[]
- Has at least a decade's worth of experience fighting in several wars.
- Manages to live with an illness that should have killed her as she grew older; it’s now too mild to permanently harm her, but intense pain may still flare up on occasion.
- Got into a grand tournament at the age of thirteen and eventually won it, taking home a gold medallion for her efforts. Joined the Northern Hired Army that same year.
- Fought and defeated an army of fifty two thousand after the NHA was hired to defend a neutral city; fought the now-rogue Grand General from that same army several years later, eventually killing him in solo combat.
- Dedicated her life to traveling and learning about other cultures; she's traveled across Gyrohem dozens of times, spending at least a week in every major city.
- Gained a high level of notoriety and wealth from her past exploits with the Northern Hired Army, and continues to earn an excellent living as a professor.

Trivia[]
- As a child, Umia was very weak and sickly; she was also extremely introverted to the point of being almost completely alone. Due to her high level of Aura, she masked her weakness and the pain it caused her, allowing others to see it as aggression and strength.
- Umia doesn't like to eat very often, despite appearing to be perfectly healthy; her meal schedule is usually one meal every two days, but she can pull a Gandhi and extend it to forty days or more if necessary.
- If she were a real person, Umia would probably be an antisocial librarian. Her second most likely career would be as a strict, yet fair elementary school teacher.
