Summary[]

The Wife Beaters serve as the Protagonists of Valhalla: Hellcity, being assembled to investigate the multitude of serial murders taking place within it's boundaries. Their name was formed from Warrane's insistence, after he jokingly suggested "Wife Beaters" due to learning that their first opponent was the Ex-Wife of their supervisor Captain Adam. This name stuck due to him finding humor in the idea of stating it as the official name for a lack of an alternative, and Captain Adam officially signing documentation codifying it into the operation.

While ultimately scrapped together from spare manpower, the Wife Beaters proved to be an incredibly effective team due to the coordination of their abilities and their interpersonal conflicts kept to a surprising minimum, perhaps helped by Xander's prior experience as a teacher and the personalities of Warrane and Silas finding common ground, even if none of their mindsets truly align.

Leader: Warrane Ambre (While Captain Adam is the one with authority over their unit, he's often tied up in a variety of other issues that prevent him from supervising the Wife Beaters directly, leaving the role of guiding their operations to Warrane)

Team Resources/Abilities: Clairvoyance, Information Analysis, Precognition (Alongside Soothsayer, the Wife Beaters' connections to Alpha Centuri afford them the help of a variety of Clairvoyants[1] that can assess the situation and predict events to come[2]), Absorption (Possess access to Energy Batteries,[3] which are capable of absorbing a Trigger's own Energy to render them powerless through remote activation, or in reaction to being touched by the captive. Warrane personally produced this technology, and can create more given the time and resources[4]), Portal Creation (While he is unable to do much in person, the Wife Beater's Military ID badges allow them to contact Captain Adam[5] and form portals at their location to rapidly move themselves or others[6]), Time Manipulation and Healing (Have access to Elena's Time Capsules, which they can consume to temporally rewind their bodies to a less injured state[7]), Resurrection (Have access to Asclepius' syringes, which are capable of reviving Triggers from the dead if administered quickly enough[7])

Attack Potency: Town level (The Wife Beaters is a squad of experienced Triggers who have become far stronger since their awakening,[1] with one freshly awakened Trigger in particular being able to throw a massive tree at mach speeds.[8] They were also capable of contribute to a massive explosion of time stored energy,[3] while Warrane was able to throw a bomb into outer space[9]), up to Large Town level via their Unique Powers (The Wife Beaters possess a variety of means to strike with much more force depending on context and application. Xander's addition and multiplication was able to generate a Strong Force with this much power, while Silas' Miracle could Atomize King Gizzard and several pillars of Osmium-dense material[9]), Country level via Burst (Warrane's Burst releases a beam of energy that obliterates everything in it's wake on an atomic level,[4] and Silas' Burst raises his power to be able to fight those capable of blocking such an attack), Multi Continent level with Firmament Genesis (The ultimate attack of Silas' Burst, capable of sub-atomically obliterating a 300 meter AoE[10]), Unknown with Soothsayer (Soothsayer possesses no ability to directly affect the Physical Layer, as their actions are only able to affect Mental Layer and those adjacent to it[11])

Speed: High Hypersonic (Triggers are capable of moving faster than any human transportation[12], including the X-43A's ability to reach Mach 9.6 or a Space Shuttle's top speed of Mach 22. Stamina: Superhuman (Triggers in general are inhumanly resilient, with even freshly awakened Triggers retaining consciousness through being impaled and serrated across their body, only to regenerate through them to continue fighting.[8] Warrane in particular endured his torso being cleaved so deeply that his lungs split in half,[18] while Xander could withstand his skin being reduced to charcoal[16])

Range: Standard Melee Range normally, Hundreds of Meters with their Unique Powers and other abilities, up to Tens of Kilometers (While accuracy drops off every Kilometer without proper aim, Energy Blasts have a maximum range of the Trigger's line of sight,[12] which can easily go up to this distance.[8] A variety of Xander's mathematical abilities extend across this distance, as well as Warrane's Burst), Hundreds of Kilometers with Firmament Genesis (Launched Lindsey Graham's Shadow to the Exosphere[16])

Intelligence: Genius to Extraordinary Genius (Triggers in general have enhanced cognitive abilities,[12] with even Silas at his dumbest being the peak of an ordinary human's mental capacity and Warrane and Xander both vastly exceeding this threshold from the start)

Teamwork: Silas serves as the upfront combatant with his overwhelming power, while Warrane plays a more technical role by deploying Crunch to pelt the enemy with unavoidable attacks, and Xander supports both through his ability to interfere with the attacks and defenses of enemies to make his allies much more effective. While simple, this accumulates into a nearly unstoppable fighting force that can adapt to new circumstances and nearly guarantee their ability to defend themselves and deal out damage in return.

Weaknesses: Higher end uses of their abilities can drain their energy and force them to recover, with Silas in particular being vulnerable to these circumstances. Their ability to contact Captain Adam for portals is limited due to his constantly busy schedule, making it an unreliable option in the midst of combat.
