Echo is a former high-ranking member of the pre-war Steel Rangers who was selected by Goldenblood to have his soul reneged and attached to the EC-1101 Skeleton key protocol. He is assigned to stop the use of EC-1101s military protocols from being misused by anyone, even unqualified genetic templates. 200 years later after being trapped in Stable 99 EC-1101 reemerges to the surface aboard Blackjack's pipbuck. Not only was she now targeted by Elite Warlords but she had to deal with the occasional conversation with an illusion on her morality, worsening her already fragile mental state.
However, after Echo perished it was revealed that there was always a second dealer. In actuality The Dealer is an abstract spirit of malice that aims to seep the world of Project Horizons in that of agony and pure suffering.
Within the world of Project Horizons there exist spirits of cosmic origin and power that shape and govern the very world around us. Be it the elements and having a distinct control over them to that of stars these entities operate the very mechanics of the known universe. Star Spirits, The Sun and Moon sisters and Discord, sit at the known apex of this hierarchy. With power to govern all other know aspects and mechanics of the universe. Beyond that knowledge however sits a collection of unknown spirits who hold absolute power over the flow of reality as a whole, This is so far known to be the case for The Dealer. Beings like The Dealer are understood to exist beyond one universe, affecting all of reality with their powers.
Very rarely has The Dealer actively inferred with the course of the universe directly, only ever appearing to a select group of individuals, seemingly of vital importance to its universal machinations. Twisting and pulling at important ponies mentally until they reach a their breaking point.
Appearance[]
Both Instances of The Dealer see it as a Malnourished, Decrepit, Male Earth Pony wearing a Cowboy hat and a full-on trench coat. They both have their preferences however, Echo usually takes on a less horrifying appearance than his spiritual counterpart when manifesting. The Dealer always exaggerates it's boney appearance, going so far as to only manifesting as bones under it's rangy clothes. All to instill as much fear and self doubt as possible.
Personality[]
- Echo - Over the course of the story Echo's character gets revealed. He volunteered for the task of protecting EC-1101 due to his other comrades being of more importance in other fields. At first, when Blackjack expressed interest in learning more about him, he expressed a very outward loner. and cowardly traits. When interacting with the Super AI Cognitium and being told of his old body still existing in cryosleep, he began to grow more deranged with the idea of returning to the living world, even if that possibly meant locking Blackjack in a computer or the potential death of the planet. He cares about others around him but his cowardice is something that truly blinded him in the end.
- The Dealer - A cosmic being obsessed with spreading misfortune and malice. It takes great joy in being at the focal point of major disasters on a planetary and cosmic level. Watching as others fail and anguish in pain through their own actions.
