Satsuki Adashino (化野 皐月 Adashino Satsuki) is the deuteragonist of To the End of the World. She is the main female protagonist, serving as Adrian's opposite, best friend, rival, and eventual lover. She is the youngest daughter of Katsuki Adashino, the former heir of the Adashino Clan, and Shizuka Adashino nee Yaegaki. Her older sister, Yayoi Adashino, was a member of the Deceiveri, known as The Sword Saint (牽制 Kensei). Her entire life was defined by a need to prove herself in the eyes of her family and surpass her older sister. Like her older sister, she is a type of human known as a Hero.
On her push to the peak of unparalleled strength, Satsuki enrolled to become an Exorcist and transferred to Eden Academy Branch in the United States. Her determination to break and surpass the peak of martial prowess caught the eye of the Storm God, Susanoo, who formed a Covenant with her. Her path was forever intertwined with that of Adrian's during her mission to take out the dredges of Yam's cult. Through many trials and tribulations, she became embroiled in a bitter war between the Gods of Goetia and the Union, which ultimately culminated in the revelation of her older sister's true allegiances along with the downfall of her Clan and several of the Guardian Clans during the Kyoto Massacre.

Appearance[]
Satsuki is a fair-skinned young woman of half-Japanese, half-European descent. Her mother being European herself with a Japanese born name due to being adopted some years ago by her maternal family. Due to her western heritage, she is rather tall for someone of Asian descent and has a slender figure. She has long pitch black hair that reaches down all the way to her waist with bangs that partially obscure her forehead and frames the sides of her face. She inherited her mother's eye color, possessing blood red eyes. Following the Kyoto Massacre, her left eye was destroyed by her older sister, causing her to get a transplant while recovering in Takamagahara. Her left eye is now pale blue in color. There is a pale jagged scar running down her neck all the way to the tip of her sternum, which was inflicted by her older sister. Thanks to her regal, aloof looks, Satsuki is known a as a "cool-type" beauty.
Her primary outfit outfit that she is most known for consists of a sleeveless black top with a white collar and is complimented by a red tie. She has a crimson belt around her waist that is accompanied by a red side-skirt which also serves as the location where her sword's sheath is attached. In addition, her outfit has a black skirt that she fashioned into something resembling a hakama. To top it off, Satsuki prefers to wear a dark red trenchcoat. Following the Kyoto Massacre, however, her outfit changes to a black jacket that parts at the waist, exposing her midriff. She stops wearing her hakama skirt and changes it to a black pleated skirt with red embroidery and black stockings. The only piece of her original clothing that remains is her red side skirt.
As someone from an Exorcist Clan, she possesses a Mystic Gear Armament, which takes the form of a full body enchantment where the sclera of her eyes become black, her irises take on a deeper shade of red, and markings manifest on her skin. As a Hero and Blessed, Satsuki is capable of using Apotheosis. The tips of her hair become wispy like storm clouds and violet lightning crackles around her body. Following the Kyoto Massacre and her acquring the Getsumei Tengan from Tsukuyomi, her Apotheosis becomes influenced by a portion of Tsukuyomi's power. Her hair changes to white with red streaks and her left eye begins to emit a wispy blue flame. Her originally violet lightning turns red.
Personality[]
At first glance, Satsuki is presented as an aloof, cool, and mature person with a constantly stoic expression. She rarely expresses her emotions and because of it, people tend to stay at a distance and admire her for her composure. In reality, Satsuki is a kind and honest girl, though her mostly lack of expression hides this fact. Her presence is said to be a calm and pacifying and possesses a serene and pleasant voice. While it may not appear to be so, Satsuki does long for a normal school experience and to spend time with friends but her strength and perceived status among her peers tend to isolate her and cause feelings of disdain to fester due to a jealousy of her apparent strength.
As the youngest daughter and the younger sister of one of the Decimveri, Satsuki possesses a single minded, half maniacal drive to advance toward ultimate strength. This drive stems from issues of inadequacies that have been bubbling since she was a small girl. Despite being the heiress to Adashino, Satsuki has always admired and felt inferior to her older sister simultaneously. As a Hero, a lot of pressure has been placed on her and due to this, she has resorted to hiding her expressions in order to protect herself. In addition, Satsuki has a tendency to drive herself into the ground with maniacal, almost psychotic fervor in order to achieve perfection. Due to a combination of her self-grown insecurity and her already extensive strength for someone her age, it is difficult for Satsuki to connect with others and make friends.
Unlike Adrian, Satsuki is less brazen. She is far more methodical and prefers to look at situations with an overarching lens. As a result of training from her older sister, Satsuki has the ability to hide her actual level of skill during combat in order to lull her opponents in false sense of security. However, like Adrian in this regard, Satsuki's imploding ego makes her suscpetible to not being able to handle criticism. She strives for perfection in an obsessive manner as she believes that it is the only way for her to prove her own existence as someone who is an accessory to her sister's status. Despite being a Hero, Satsuki does not view herself as such and loathes being referred to as one due to it being a constant reminder to her that she has been second place her entire life. However, due to her constant interactions with Adrian, Satsuki has managed to pull herself from her subconscious self-deprecating mindset, making her more confident in who she is and more comfortable with herself.
Following the Kyoto Massacre, Satsuki became far more driven and her goals became single-mindedly focused on revenge. Her initial admiration for her older sister morphed into disdain and hatred after witnessing her betray the union and causing the deaths of their parents. She became completely obsessed with avenging her family and bringing her sister to justice, later adding all of Goetia to that goal. When her final emotional pillar, Adrian, was fatally injured for a second time, saving her from Samael, her entire personality shattered and she became reckless, endangering herself in an obsessive, psychotic drive to hunt Samael down for Adrian's sake. All of these events culminated in a break in their relationship which forced them on opposing sides where Satsuki felt that it was her responsibility as a Hero to defeat Goetia, clashing with Adrian's desire to keep her from going on a suicidal charge. This strain persisted greatly after the Second Cataclysm with the entry of the Archons' influence into the world with Adrian developing trust issues against her and Satsuki crushing herself from the feeling of overwhelming guilt after the truth behind her older sister's choices were revealed.
Due to her serious, stoic personality, Satsuki tends to butt heads frequently with Adrian Mariner. He is the only person to perceive her as another person rather than just the "younger sister of Yayoi Adashino" or the "Replacement Heiress". The two often clash on etiquette or even the most mundane and mindless things. Due to their interactions and Adrian's originally abrasive personality, the two are often misunderstood and seen as a couple, citing belligerent sexual tension between them. Even though they started off as hostile and continue to clash, their relationship is more akin to vitriolic best friends with Satsuki being the only person Adrian could ever see as a rival.

Childhood[]
Satsuki Adashino is the youngest daughter born of the political marriage between Katsuki Adashino, the clan heir of the Adashino Clan, and Shizuka Yaegaki, the former clan heiress of the Yaegaki Clan. Her older sister is Yayoi Adashino, who would go on to become one of the Decimveri and the Sword Saint of the current age. Because of her older sister's vast talent, Satsuki had an immense amount of pressure placed upon her by her family. Despite this, she was a bright and kind child, who thrived despite not receiving the parental affection she so desperately craved. Instead, she latched onto her older sister, who would become her sole parental figure in life. Because of her older sister, her latent talent blossomed, albeit later than what the rest of her family would have liked. Because of her blooming skill and perhaps feeling some sort of kinship with her, Susano'o spoke to her in her dreams and later, the very next day, Satsuki would be found at the Yasaka Shrine, forming a Covenant with the God of Thunder.
Eden Enrollment[]
Like the rest of her peers, Satsuki enrolled in Seirei Gakuen in Kyoto, a high school that catered to the Guardian Families and regular families. Because of her status as Susano'o's Blessed and a potential Hero because of her older sister, Satsuki enjoyed a fairly happy school life, surrounded by lots of friends. When she turned 16, Susano'o sponsored her and sent her to Eden, telling her that he wanted to send her there because of a bet he made with the White God. Because of this, she would not officially be enrolled but went through a sort of "internship". At Eden, she developed a rivalry with Ihwa Lee, the other representative and the Blessed of Hwanin, the Korean God of the Heavens.
Due to her sister's status, Satsuki was sought out by many students within the school to join the factions they had formed among themselves. However, she began to see that none of them wanted her because they wanted her specifically. They only sought the benefits that came with allying with Yayoi Adashino's younger sister. Because of this, Satsuki began to grow cynical and saw herself as nothing without her older sister. Her desperation to prove herself gave way to a need to become stronger. Thus, began her relentless pursuit of ultimate strength in which she proceeded to decimate over 3/4 of the student body after declaring that only those that can defeat her will be allowed to have her join their group. This declaration also served to boost her popularity while also isolating her. Because of her techniques, Satsuki gained the nickname, Black Lightning Princess.
Yam's Cult and Encountering Adrian Mariner[]
Near the end of her "internship", Satsuki was deployed on a mission to circumvent the efforts of Yam's Cult. She, along with ten of their most elite students, were sent due to the estimation of the power of the forces being so low. However, they failed to truly grasp the lengths at which the cult would go to in order to release their God. Thus, what was supposed to be simple mission turned into an orgy of senseless violence which claimed half of an entire town. After discovering from one of the cultists that they had found the catalyst to break the binds enforced by the Judecca Tabris Rex, Satsuki headed for the high school's baseball field.
There she would arrive too late as Yam was in the process of being released thorugh Adrian Mariner's body. After her release, Yam fled the scene, leaving an unharmed Adrian at the center of the field. While Yam fought Uriel, Satsuki, who believed that Adrian had released Yam on purpose and was the leader of the cell, began to attack him. The two fought briefly with her skills eclipsing his by an overwhelmingly large margin. As she was about to deal the final blow, Satsuki's katana was stopped by Uriel, who subdued her as well. After explaining that he was her niece, Satsuki apologized to him out of shame. Following this event, Satsuki and the others returned to Eden Academy.
It wouldn't be long, however, until she met Adrian again. Satsuki would then meet Adrian once more during the Entrance Exam upon her official enrollment into the school. There, during the exam, Adrian would unanimously declare a rivarly with her through his actions, something she reciprocated as his presence had, for once, caused a flame to burn within her for the first time in years.

During the Kyoto Massacre, Satsuki continued to duel her older sister despite losing an eye and being inflicted with what would normally be mortal wounds. Poison and other toxins seem to have no seeming effect on her drive as she inhaled a large amount of Samael's venom alongside Adrian during their fight with her. Her tenacity has earned her the respect of her foes, including her older sister. When she fought against Adrian during her defection, Satsuki continued to fight despite Adrian shattering her dominant arm with reckless abandon)

Weaknesses: Unlike Adrian, she initially had virtually no emotional fault that could be exploited by most people. However, she is known for having a short fuse and is a tad bit overconfident in her skills. Her desire to move forward and gain ultimate power draws root from her inferiority complex toward her older sister, allowing her to be easily emotionally manipulated to making mistakes if one is aware of this fact. Following the Kyoto Massacre, she became mentally unstable, completely fixated and focused on her revenge. The mere mention of Yayoi's name can cause her to lose her sense of reason and make it so that her movements become reduced to nothing more than mindless rage-filled attacks with no semblance of grace or finesse that can normally be attributed to her. Her Apotheosis puts immense strain on her body and she cannot withstand it for long without risk of suffering from severe exhaustion, even after acquiring the Getsumei Tengan. In addition, the Getsumei Sekai runs the risk of causing information overload by being bombarded with a massive influx of stimuli all at once. In addition, Getsumei Sekai strains the eyes of its user and risks rendering them blind.

As a the daughter of a famed clan of swordmasters and the younger sister of one of the Decimveri, Satsuki is an extremely skilled and proficient fighter. Thus, she possesses supernatural strength, skill, and prowess far greater than the other Exorcist Cadets at Eden Academy and was hailed as someone who could become one of the Decimveri. Because of this, Susanoo saw the potential she had and chose her to form a Covenant with him. The only other two students within the school that initially surpassed her in sheer power and skill were Tyler Smith, the Student Council President, and Maria Buan, the third year Class President. Like Adrian, she posssessed an unnnaturally powerful growth rate thanks to her status as Hero, being able to grow stronger with each struggle she faced. Hailing from a family of swordsmen, Satsuki was a peerless blademaster within her own generation, having rapidly mastered her family's martial art, the Oborozuki-Ryu.
Through her tenure at Eden, Satsuki stagnated for some time, being able to find another student that could push her to the edges of her current abilities. When Adrian Mariner enrolled, Satsuki found herself always coming into conflict with him and being dragged into conflicts with other students. Her encounters with Adrian, while they initially always ended in her overwhelming victory, was able to push her from her rut thanks to his relentless pestering. She is extremely intelligent, being able to analyze and decipher the logic and reasoning behind techniques and styles simply from observation. Because of this, Satsuki was able to improve upon her own flaws and weaknesses in real time during the heat of combat.
As she progressed, her abilities evolved enough to keep pace with her rival, who in a short time had managed to find a way to equal her in combat. Her single-minded, half maniacal determination to attain ultimate strength, coupled with her desire to never allow Adrian to surpass her, has allowed her to grow exponentially. During the Inter-Academy Tournament, Satsuki was able to fight evenly with Adrian in his Completed Sefirah Form, despite not having achieved Apotheosis yet, and even push Samael alongside Adrian to utilize four of her wings to subdue them. Following Goetia's attack, Satsuki underwent intense training from her older sister, allowing her to grow even further and sharpen her skills in martial arts. By the time of the Kyoto Massacre, she was able to perform the Mangetsu and later, after acquiring the Getsumei Tengan, Satsuki was able to perfect and learn her clan's Ougi, the Shingetsu.
Indomitable Will: As part of her obsessive determination to become the strongest, Satsuki has persevered and pushed through even the most dire of straits. She absolutely refuses to back down, seeing it as a step back in her journey to attain ultimate power. She is extremely strong-willed, being able to completely resist mind control to a point where even Naamah's Luxuria only had mild effects on her. She can continue to fight, despite suffering severe wounds and experiencing extreme, agonizing pain. An example of this was when Satsuki was able to continue fighting against her older sister, despite having her right arm severed and suffering from extreme blood loss that would make most people pass out.
Keen Intellect: The brains to Adrian's brawn. Satsuki is an extremely intelligent individual, consistently scoring the best grades in Eden. The only other person known to score higher than her being Claire Silvers, who consistently gets almost perfect scores on all her exams. During combat, while she is on the complete offensive without pause, Satsuki is extremely observant, being able to dissect the reason and logic behind her enemy's techniues upon seeing them. Accustomed to the flow and heat of a fight, Satsuki can form strategies on the fly, choosing whatever approach she deems appropriate within that given instant, no matter how elaborate it may be. This leads her opponents to believe that she is reckless due to her strategies presenting great risks to her wellbeing, yet her choices have the tendency to pay off in her favor. Her intelligence and analytical skills have often been praised by others such as Lilin Satanael, who was amazed that Satsuki was able to figure out the nature of her abilities after witnessing it a few times in combat, and Yayoi Adashino, who displayed pride in her younger sister who was able to learn Shingetsu and Gesshoku from observation and without aid.
Hero: Heroes are a unique attribute that occurs in humans and half-humans to a lesser extent. She awakened to this attribute when she was a young child. As a hero, Satsuki is a human with the potential to become a transcendent entity whose power rivals or even equals that of the Gods. As a Hero, Satsuki's constitution is greater than that of other humans, being resistant to all human ailments and tribulations. In addition, as a Hero, she grows stronger the more struggles she faces, evolving with each and every trial that is thrown at her. Her unique constitution as a Hero allows her to withstand the burden of bearing both a Covenant and a piece of a God.
Battle Mania & Combat High: A trademark trait of the Adashino Clan. Despite not appearing to, during fights, Satsuki is no stranger to and has almost lustful penchant for violence. While she is not like her older sister who orchestrates and engineers situations that lands her in mortal situations, Satsuki does not shy away and sometimes will actively seek a fight. This trait partially led to her declaration of fighting her in order to earn her companionship to the entire school and when mixed with Adrian's stubborn pride, served as the first and primary reason she became attracted to him as he served as a constant source of combat for her. She experiences something akin to a bloodlust during combat, resulting in an influx of adrenaline through her body that causes her to feel a sort of orgasmic joy. In all her years, Adrian has been the only one who has been capable of consistently evoking this feeling in her.
Physical Abilities[]
Enhanced Senses: Fine-tuned from observing her older sister training and eventually receiving said training herself, Satsuki has heightened senses, greater than that of the average human or even supernatural entity. Her eyesight is her hallmark feature. She has incredibly sharp eyesight, being able to accurately predict the moves of her opponents based on observing subtle twitches in their muscles and movements within their eyes. Satsuki can also perceive color 10 times faster than others as well as being able to perceive motion and movement at a slowed rate when she focuses.
- Getsumei Sekai: (月明世界 Getsumeisekai Lit. Moonlit World) Getsumei Sekai is a perceptive technique/state that advanced users of the Oborozuki-Ryu possess. It allows the user to process and absorb all information within their immediate environment, allowing them to accurately predict and calculate the attacks of their opponents based on all factors present. Because of this, Satsuki is also able to adapt in real time to the movements of her foes. It also allows them to learn combat at a rate that is far greater than what others can normally achieve. Because of this, Satsuki was able to grow years ahead of her peers but it also caused her to stagnate, due to her mind no longer gaining information in order to facilitate her growth. However, the technique has a glaring weakness in that the user can suffer from information overload. In addition, the strain it causes on the user's eyes can cause blood vessels to rupture and has a risk of leaving the user blind.
Immense Strength: As a Hero, Satsuki has immense physical strength and prowess, far greater than her peers, including Adrian (initially). She is capable of easily holding back the test golem's fist after one of them went berserk during the Entrance Exam, something that required Claire and Adrian's full strength, despite just being a first year student. She can cross vast distances in a single leap and scale massive structures within a second, showcasing incredible leg strength. Her sword, Yorihime, is heavier than most weapons due to incorporating Hi'irokane wihtin its blade and despite that, Satsuki is still capable of swinging it at supersonic speeds. Later on, following the Inter-Academy Tournament, Satsuki subjected herself to harsh training and became capable of leaving wounds on powerful opponents such as Samael and her older sister.
Immense Speed and Reflexes: Aside from her senses, Satsuki's speed is one of her greatest physical assets. She possesses immense speeds and sublime reflexes, being able to move at speeds far greater than Adrian and Claire, as well as outclassing most of the Student Council. Her speed plays into her offensive strategy as she can quickly and methodically dismember her opponents with her own superior agility, leaving a multitude of wounds before they can even notice. During their second encounter, Satsuki was able to attack Adrian around 150 times without him noticing, only allowing him to see her final stroke. With the Getsumei Sekai, her perceptive speed, along with her reflexes, can allow her to react to even the blistering speeds of the Vice President of the Student Council. After gaining the Getsumei Tengan and following her training with her older sister, Satsuki grew even faster, being able to easily dodge the sheer speed of Adrian's Qemetiel and deflect her older sister's Mangetsu.
Supernatural Abilities[]
Ki: (気 Lit. Air, Breath) As the descendant of the Adashino Clan, Satsuki possesses a tremendous and incredibly potent life force. She is noted to have far greater ki than other martial artists her age, rivalling that of her parents. Like Adrian, it was iniitally offset by a lack of proper control when she was younger, leading to string of disasters that would happen around her whenever she used her Ki. However, with proper training, she was able to overcome this weakness. As a member of an Exorcist Clan, Satsuki can utilize her Ki in order to perform magic, using a combination of talismans and Mudra signs in order to cast a variety of Eastern Spells. In addition, her Ki tends to align to a certain phase of the Five Element Systems established in Eastern Religions. Her primary Ki affinities are that of the Wood Phase.
With age, her Ki has only increased and grown more powerful. Unlike Adrian, Satsuki possesses a sharp-refined control of her own Ki, allowing her to use multiple strenous techniques in a single day without aid. In addition, she can use it to augment her strength, bolstering her physical and defensive capabilities multiple times if needed to. She can even insert ki into portions of her opponent's bodies to cut off their flow of energy or to render certain body parts inert. Her mastery of Onmyoudou contributes to her control as she can skillfully apply the Wood Phase to weapons, allowing her to utilize multiple elemental effects to an incredible degree. In addition, her Ki control allows her to bring out the full potential of her katana as well as utilize the Mystic Gear Armament.
- Reiki: (霊気 Lit. Spiritual Breath) Reiki is a form of spiritual energy cultivated by Exorcists in the East. It constitutes the spiritual half of Ki as a whole. It serves as the fuel and energy for magic and shamanism. Reiki is what serves as the material base for the construction of the Mystic Gear Charm as well as the Mystic Gear Armament. It is the polar opposite of Touki. While both originate from the same source, being the user's life force, Reiki is actually closer to magical power and is closely in sync to the spirit rather than the physical body of its user.
- Touki: (闘気 Lit. Fighting Spirit) Touki is the physical and outward expression of Ki. It is an aura that enshrouds the user and amplifies their physical capabilities. It is the polar opposite of Reiki. While both originate from the same source, being the user's life force, Touki focuses more on the physical constitution of the body.
- Lunar Ki: (月気 Getsu-Ki Lit. Moon Spirit) Lunar Ki is a unique form of Ki cultivated by the Adashino Clan. It is gathered from the ambient moonlight that emanates from the Moon during its phases, which collects and is stored within their body. The Ki itself, while stored, influences the Ki generated by their body, giving their Ki a silver color rather than the standard white color and emits a somewhat serene and plesant sensation. It is a ki that possesses a unique ability to control shadows, something thought to be only achievable with the Taiyin. It serves as additional fuel for the techniques of the Oborozuki-Ryu. Originally, Satsuki had to meditate beneath moonlight to gather it, but following her acquisition of the Getsumei Tengan, she no longer has to.
- Wood Phase: (木放 Mokuhō Lit. Wood Release) One of the Five Phases of the Wu Xing/Gogyo. It involves the manipulation of the Wood Element. Specifically, Satsuki specializes in manipulating wind and lightning. She uses it in a variety of ways, ranging from enhancing her physical attributes to utilizing it to enchant her weapons. With Susanoo's Covenant, her ability to manipulate Lightning and Wind becomes further enhanced. Satsuki possesses exceptional skill in controlling the phase, utilizing it in a variety of ways such as condensing a massive amount of electricity into her hands to cut her targets, imbuing Yorihime with wind in order to drastically enhance its cutting power, or even using lightning to perform short range teleportation.
Charm Talismans: (陰陽呪装 Onmyō Jusō Lit. Charm Gear) Charm Talismans are a form of Eastern Magic originating from Japan that involves the use of talismans in order to manipulate spiritual power to perform magical spells. As a testament of her skill, Satsuki can utilize multiple charms at the same time, as well as being able to combine and synchronize multiple talismans in order to achieve a greater effect. Such abilities range from enhancing her own physical abilities, amplifying the effects of her elemental phase, purifying dark creatures, and even evoking Gods and creating barriers of energy to repel demons and other dark entities.
- Five Elements Creation: (五行相生 Gogyō Aioi Lit. Five Elements Mutual Generation) A spell that utilizes the Inter-Promoting Cycle of the Wuxing in order to bolster the power of the user's spells or themselves. Satsuki can enhance her spells and charm enhancements exponentially, drastically bolstering her offensive power.
- Raimei: (雷鳴 Lit. Thunder) Raimei is a spell that evokes the concept of storms and summons lightning from the talisman to strike the target. This is Satsuki's primary spell and her go-to offensive spell. She can further enhance this spell with Five Elements Creation or by further imbuing the talisman with the Wood Phase.
- Haya-Kuji: (九字切 Kuji-kiri Lit. Nine Symbolic Cuts) Haya-Kuji is an esoteric sealing technique that involves performing nine cuts in order to create a blade seal while chanting. Highly skilled users do not require the use of a talisman or medium in order to create the blade seal and can simply trace the blade seal across the air with their hands. The Haya-Kuji can then be used to bind and restrict entities or completely destroy them.
- Katashiro: (形代 Lit. Paper Doll) Katashiro are specialized talismans that have a variety of uses including sealing, evoking Gods, and housing shikigami. Satsuki rarely uses katashiro for other things aside for a few purposes. Her most primary use of katashiro is to summon her familiar, Tenka, and as a method to redirect damage on her body by using them as substitutes. On very rare occassions, Satsuki evokes Gods, primarily Susanoo who she has formed a Covenant with.
- Metal Phase: Great Golden Wall of Heaven: (鉄放・金剛の壁 Tetsuhō - Kongō no Kabe Lit. Metal Release - Adamantine Walls of Heaven) Metal Phase: Great Golden Wall of Heaven is a metal phase spell stored within a talisman. It evokes and summons a barrier that resembles a hexagram capable of withstanding powerful attacks. Its durability scales to the amount of Ki used to evoke the spell.
- Divine Evocation: A spell that involves evoking a God into a katashiro, thus creating a bunrei that possesses a portion of a God's authority. Depending on the God evoked, the effects generated by divine evocation will vary. The bunrei within the katashiro exudes a tremendous aura that cannot be properly perceived by the weak-willed. As it contains a mere fragment of an actual God, the authorities stored within are drastically dampened in power, with even the most powerful katashiro being able to generate divine effects capable of only leveling a mountain.
- Six Point Formation: ((六赤陽陣 Musekiyōjin Lit. Six Red Ray Formation) The Six Point Formation is a spiritual barrier that creates a separate space around the area. The mechanics behind this technique is similar to a Domain yet not as it can be subject to invasion. It can be used to isolate different locations and defend against different attacks.
Covenant[]
Shinrai no Shinbatsu: (神雷の神罰 Lit. God's Judgement of Divine Lightning) Shinrai no Shinbatsu is the Covenant of Satsuki Adashino. It is the blessing of the God of Storms, Susanoo. The Authority is rooted within the concepts of "Storms" and "Destruction". with it being stated to be an Authority that rivals the sheer power of Amaterasu's Taiyo. It allows its wielder to control and generate lightning and thunder, in additiont of further amplifying whatever natural affinity the user has for electricity— in Satsuki's case, it amplifies her natural lightning affinity due to her being of the Wood Phase. She can also condense and wrap it around her weapon in order to drastically increase its cutting power. In addition, as it is an authority rooted in "Destruction", the lightning generated by the Covenant has the ability to annihilate whatever it touches, destroying it at such a level that not even the vapors or ash remain of the target. Prior to Adrian entering Eden, her Covenant was deemed the most dangerous amongst the students.
- Electromagnetic Aura: Due to the effects of the Covenant on her body, Satsuki's body generates its own electromagnetic field, extending her senses. She can sense whatever enters that field, simply by detecting the signals caused by nerve impulses within the trespasser's body. In addition, she can manipulate fluctuations within the field in order to enhance her speed and striking strength, allowing her to move and attack faster than what she is originally capable of.
- Platforming: An ability that Satsuki developed after playing a game. Thanks to her ability to control and manipulate wind thanks to the "Storms" concept of Susanoo's authority, she can skate along self-generated wind currents as well as being able to create her own points of leverage in mid-air, granting her the ability to air jump and land on seemingly solid surfaces.
- Personal Typhoon: A defensive technique. It generates a solid barrier of wind that is accompanied by a bout of raging thunder clouds. It is designed to repel most attacks and thanks to the "Destruction" of the Covenant, it has proven to be able to repel and counter Adrian's Yam Soph and Qemetiel.
Getsumei Tengan: (月明天眼 Lit. Moonlit Heavenly Eye) A portion of Tsukuyomi's own divine powers condensed into the form of an eye. It was used to repair Satsuki's left eye after hers was destroyed in during the Kyoto Massacre by her older sister. It drastically enhances her visual acuity in both eyes, despite being contained in only one eye due to the divine energy spreading through her entire body. It contains a portion of Tsukuyomi's Authority, making it a pseudo-Covenant. As such, through this eye, Satsuki has access to the Goddess's Authority over Order and Time in a way that allows her to see the flow of causality around her.
Apotheosis: Lightning Empress: (神化-雷鳴女王の天鎧 Shinka - Raimeijoō no Tengai Lit. Divine Evolution - Thunder Queen's Heavenly Armor) Lightning Empress is the Apotheosis of Satsuki Adashino, which she gained following the Kyoto Massacre, as a result of her emotional instability and sheer thirst for revenge. It grants her full access to Susanoo's Authority, drastically enhancing the effects of her Covenant. Essentially, it elevates her to full Godhod for a short amount of time, as well as granting Satsuki power about a thousand times greater than that of her Mystic Gear Armament Forms. However, the form has severe side effects to Satsuki, ranging being severely exhausted to being bed-ridden and near death for an entire week. However, thanks to Tsukuyomi's modification, Satsuki was able to stave off the most severe side-effects, being left with only severe exhaustion.
- Apotheosis: Moonlit Storm Empress: (神化-月明雷電女王の天鎧 Shinka - Getsumeiraidenjoō no Tengai Lit. Divine Evolution - Moon Storm Queen's Heavenly Armor) An evolution of the Lightning Empress that fuses Tsukuyomi's Authority with that of Susano'o's following her acquisition of the Getsumei Tengan. It is Satsuki's strongest form and has raw power output equivalent to Adrian's Perfected Apotheosis - Apollyon. It has the capability to contend with the strongest members of Goetia and obliterate one of War's bodies and fight on par with Yayoi Adashino.
Fighting Style[]
Oborozuki-Ryu: (朧月流 Lit. Hazy Moon Style) The Oborozuki-Ryu is the main martial art practiced and developed by the Adashino Clan during the Heian Period by observing the Moon Goddess, Tsukuyomi. It is hailed amongst the strongest sword arts in the world and is the martial art practiced and perfected by the current Sword Saint. Its main hallmarks are its fast, flowing motions that resemble a waltz and its use of ferocious, ultra high-speed battoujutsu. In addition, with later generations, the incorporation of Onmyoudou techniques have been employed, further enhancing its repetoire. It is designed with the ability on overpowering any opponent regardless of strength or size. Satsuki is noted to be one of the youngest masters of this style, being able to pull off a majority of their most advanced techniques even before entering Eden Academy, in addition to being able to perform the Ougi. Below are some of her most frequently used techniques.
- Izayoi: (十六夜 Lit. Sixteenth Night) Izayoi is one of Satsuki's most frequently used techniques. This technique is reminiscent to that of iaijutsu. The user rapidly draws their blade in an upward or downward motion. It is considered to be an opening move used by practitioners in order to gauge their opponents. However, Satsuki uses it in order to start and end fights in one attack, which works for her most of the time.
- Futsukazuki: (二日月 Lit. Second Day Moon) Futsukazuki is a ranged technique of the Oborozuki-Ryu. The user rapidly draws their blade and launches sword waves at their opponents in rapid succession. Each swing is timed with the systolic heartbeat of the user, allowing them to always launch an attack at maximum strength. Satsuki enhances her sword waves by imbuing them with the Wood Phase and the Shinrai no Shinbatsu.
- Kagen-no-Tsuki: (下弦の月 Lit. Waning Moon) The user performs a powerful single half-arced slash at extremely high speeds. The attack is so powerful that it leaves a visible line of light across the world. After the light fades, the effects then take place as everything within her range is sliced apart. Kagen-no-Tsuki has proven powerful enough to be able to slice through Adrian's Idea Manifestation and later, with the Shinrai no Shinbatsu, cut off one of War's bodies, arms.
- Mangetsu: (満月 Lit. Full Moon) Described to be a sublime battoujutsu. It is considered to be among the strongest of the techniques created by the Oborozuki-Ryu and one of the most powerful sword arts in the entire world among all realms. Satsuki breathes in a certain pattern, drastically accelerating cellular metabolism and producing massive amounts of adrenaline and consuming large amounts of Ki stored within the user's body which floods their entirety, focusing largely on their legs in order to maximize their muscles and blood vessels. It involves a single ruinous slash that moves at such high speeds that all that can be witnessed is a single flash of blinding light and heat. Satsuki enhances its effects by imbuing it with her Covenant, further enhancing its cutting power.
- Gesshoku: (月食 Lit. Lunar Eclipse) Gesshoku is a transcendent technique of the Oborozuki-Ryu that have only been achieved by its founder and Yayoi Adashino. It is considered to exist in a realm beyond martial arts and is among the strongst sword arts in the entire world. According to Yayoi, the technique demands the user's full purity and clarity of mind so much so that they step into the "Greater Void". The technique is said to be a conceptual armament that cuts down all within the user's path with such absolute effect that it is considered to be the closest thing a non-Ascendant has achieved to creating a Law, regardless any means of defensive combat. It returns everything to zero, slicing apart everything Satsuki's path whether it be the concept of distance, formless space, the passage of time, and even the flow of causality.
- Gesshoku: Shin Ougi - Fushigiri: (月食神奥義・不死斬りLit. Lunar Eclipse Divine Hidden Technique - Immortal Severance) A combination of Gesshoku and Mangetsu. It is a personal technique created by Satsuki with the intent of being the ultimate battoujutsu in the world. It is the culmination of Satsuki's entire journey, her memories, struggles, and experiences. It was used to overpower her older sister's own Gesshoku: Shin Ougi - Tenshō.
Equipment[]
Mystic Gear - Yorihime: (雷顕符・依姫 Ikazuchi-genpu - Yorihime Lit. Lightning Revealing Charm - Yorihime) Yorihime is Satsuki's primary weapon and her Mystic Gear. A weapon forged from Hi'irokane and imbued with the power of her shikigami during the forging process. Its blade length is 1.2 meters. It was forged using multiple materials in a violent manner yet it did nothing to retract from the blade's overall hardness and durability. It possesses a unique scabbard that was designed by Satsuki herself. A black saya that contains a trigger mechanism, allowing her to shoot her blade forth from its sheath, resulting in far more devastating draw attacks and enhancing the power of her blows. The blade can generate black lightning due to her familiar, Tenka, being a Raiju. This is the source of her title as Kokuraiki. The sword was later shattered during the Kyoto Massacre Arc by Yayoi Adashino. It was then reforged in Takamagahara into an odachi using fragments of her father's sword along with Yorihime's. A kodachi was added at her request, which she named Toyohime.
- Mystic Gear Armament - Fleeting Heaven: (纏神呪・天面刹那 Matoi Kajiri - Amatsusetsuna Lit. Mystic Tool Equip - Transient Heavens) The Mystic Gear Armament of Yorihime. It enhances Satsuki's current abilities about 50 times that of her maximum strength in her present base form. Rather than a weapon enchantment, it is a full body enchantment that draws out both Satsuki's latent abilities and combines them with the powers of her shikigami. In addition, it changes her appearance. Her sclera turns black and markings appear on her body. In this form, Satsuki is said to radiate a murderous aura.
- Divine Mystic Gear Armament - Void: Black Lightning Princess: (神纏神呪・虚空・黒雷姫 Shin Matoi Kajiri: Kokū - Kuroikazuchihime Lit. Divine Mystic Spell Equip: Void - Dark Lightning Princess) An improved version of Fleeting Heaven. It contains her Covenant from Susano'o and mixes it with the powers of Tenka and her Ki. It was Satsuki's initial answer and workaround the Apotheosis. It boosts her power a hundredfold, granting her strength even greater than that of her Mystic Gear Armament.
Spell Talismans: A series of talismans containing exorcist spells. It is carried with her at all times and stored in a pocket in her side skirt.
Fruit of Knowledge: Fruit of Knowledge is a smart-phone like device that students receive upon joining the union. It allows for communication across different realms and is powered by magical energy. It also allows them to call for Warp Gates at any given time in order to travel to different locations or to and from school.
Trivia and Character Notes[]
- The faceclaim used to fit Satsuki's appearance was Akame from Akame ga Kill!
- Both her appearance and faceclaims are callbacks to her original incarnation, Ruby Erenod.
- Unlike her prior incarnation, Satsuki does not have any demonic heritage whatsoever. She has no relation to Cain, apart from being descended from him as one of the descendants of Adam and Eve.
- Her last name, Adashino, was derived from the Adashino Exorcist Family from Twin Star Exorcists.
- Her favorite band is Asian Kung Fu Generation and her favorite song from them is "Rock n' Roll Morning Light Falls on you". Upon leaving Japan and moving to the States, she began saving a slew of songs from Rise to Fall and several other metalcore bands.
- While she prefers to use a katana and a kodachi in combat, she is not above using other weapons. She comments on Adrian's refusal to use a katana as "incredibly childish".
- Satsuki's character takes references to different characters:
- Her role as a rival character was primarily inspired by Sasuke Uchiha from Naruto and Benio Adashino from Twin Star Exorcists.
- Her personality-wise is mostly hers. However, the basis behind it is an eclectic mix of Benio Adashino and Nijika Ijichi from 'Bocchi the Rock. In that aspect, her relationship to Adrian can be compared to Nijika's relationship with Ryo, with her playing the tsukkomi and Adrian being the boke.
- She is a reference to Crimson's other work on another wiki. A character by the name of Mitsuki Adashino.
- Her fighting ability takes its cues from two sources:
- Her fighting style is mostly based on Lucia: Crimson Abyss and Lucia: Crimson Weave from Punishing Gray Raven. This becomes more prevalent later on when Satsuki repairs her sword and upgrades it to an odachi and kodachi after it was shattered by Yayoi during the Kyoto Massacre Arc.
- Susano'o reveals that he and Tsukuyomi fought for the right to sponsor her. Tsukuyomi argued that she should have been the one to bless her because she was from a clan that actively worshipped and learned from her.
- Satsuki is the only Blessed and Hero in the world to contain two divine authorities in her body.
