Ryn Reboot
Now... Let's see here, we've got... The hostages safe, the whole of your inner circle out-of-commission, and you on the ropes. I believe this is checkmate, Junpei Masuda.
~ Ryn, to Junpei Masuda

Summary[]

Rynild Aurum is one of the two protagonists of Tales of the Red Wings, the last chapter in the Samsara era of Deus Ex Gyrus. He is a member of the Red Wings Guild, and is responsible for repairing the automaton Omega.

Background[]

Ryn is the twin brother of Aiden Aurum, and along with his brother was left on the doorstep of the Florestrella Village church. The two's original parentage is unknown, but both were raised by the head of the church, the Arachne Alice Marvell.

Ryn and Aiden could not have been more different despite their close bond. Growing up, the two would constantly fight, spars that Aiden pretty much always won. The redhead seemed to have been born with every natural talent, with charisma, magic, swordplay, acrobatics, and inhuman strength for someone his age. In comparison, Ryn was the smarter of the two, but beyond that was rather average in his fields, being inept in the arcane arts he wanted to train in. Over time, the two came to realize their respective talents; Aiden was a Reincarnator, the spirit of heroes of old taking on a new body once again, while Ryn was an artificer, a type of mage who sacrificed skill in traditional magic in exchange for a heightened mind, the ability to construct advanced machinery, and an innate understanding of the fundamental rules behind magic.

For as long as he knew about them, the two brothers craved the sense of adventure provided by guilds, establishments dedicated to training Astiria's fighters and heroes to battle monsters and keep the country safe from harm. As soon as Aiden turned 16, he was accepted into the prestigious Dragon's Crown guild, the highest-ranking guild in the country, due to his reincarnating status, but Ryn's attempts to join guilds were rejected... That is, until February 15th, 1881, when Ryn was accepted into a fledgeling guild known as the Red Wings.

Tier: 9-A, 8-C with Technology and Preparation | 8-B, 8-A with Break-Barrel and Aurum Coil, up to 7-C by absorbing and redirecting Lightning

Powers and Abilities:

Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Genius Intelligence (Being an artificer, Ryn is incredbily scientifically gifted, and is also highly analytical and observant), Acrobatics (All-Terrain Mobility. Ryn can fight on a moving train without compromising his aim or swordfighting skills), Aetheric Physiology, Weapon Mastery (Trained by his brother Aiden in swordfighting, giving him access to [albeit heavily degraded] copies of sword techniques from previous ages, such as those of Gawain), Preparation, Technology Manipulation (Artificers specialize in technology, and have an innate understanding of the rules of magic as a power source rather than as an art form), Reactive Evolution (An artificer's technology evolves and adapts in response to their surroundings, meaning more advanced civilizations will produce more advanced artificers), Extrasensory Perception (Sensed Zephyr's Killing Intent despite not possessing Ki or other sensory magic), Statistics Amplification (Can use Reinforcement Magic, which allows the user to enhance properties of objects, including their own physicality), Information Analysis (Can use Appraisal Magic, allowing him to view and analyze the properties of magical items and the inner workings of machinery, allowing him to detect tiny flaws in objects), Enhanced Senses (Can make out minute details like the exact width of streets from miles away. Capable of seeing in nearly pitch-black environments with Appraisal), Analytical Prediction (By appraising someone, he can gain a perfect understanding of their muscle movements, demeanor, and movement patterns to predict and avoid their attacks, as well as detect openings in their strikes), Supernatural Willpower (Withstood the colossal pressure of the Eyes of Death. Was willing to be impaled in order to get a chance at a finishing blow to Souji Satou)

Power Mimicry (Artificers are, by default, capable of producing technology based on the powers of others, or outright copying aspects of one another's tech. Ryn is especially gifted with this), Electricity Manipulation (With Fulmen Bullets and Fulmen Fields), Fire Manipulation and Explosion Manipulation (With Pyra Bullets, which explode on impact, and with Pyra fields), Healing of Mechanical beings (Fixed Omega, though it took preparation and time to do so), Energy Manipulation (Recreated Omega's reactor from her blueprint), Sense Manipulation (Created artificial senses for Omega, allowing her to have a sense of taste and smell), Energy Projection (Could likely recreate Omega's cannons if he wanted to), Size Manipulation (Studied Omega's blueprints, which contains storage units that can fit more than their size would indicate. Created a Portable Table that folds down into impossibly small sizes at 13), Weather Manipulation (Possesses some of Valerie Redbow's field rods, which are meant to be used for weather control by manipulating the local climate), Power Modification (The field rods create "Fields", spheres of alignment that forcibly change the element of the mana in the air), Elemental Manipulation and Fusionism (Changing the element of mana in the air causes the environment within the field to change, and mixing two fields together creates a violent result. Can fire double-element bullets by shooting single-element bullets through fields), Temperature Manipulation including Ice Manipulation (Can create zones of extreme heat and cold to the degree of lighting things on fire or coating them in ice. Mixing Pyra or Cyri fields with Venti fields creates heat magic bursts and frost magic bursts), Air Manipulation (Can create zones of extreme winds with a Venti field, and with two Venti fields, can create cyclones and tornadoes), Plasma Manipulation (By mixing a Venti and Fulmen field, he can create bursts of plasma. Can fire plasma bullets by shooting a Fulmen round through a Venti field)

Resistance to Fire Manipulation (Possesses a Pyra Affinity, rendering him resistant to Fire Magic to the point where he could survive a Fire God Slash from Aiden), Ice Manipulation (Those with a Pyra Affinity are uniquely resistant to Ice magic and freezing, as Fire takes precedence over Ice), Electricity Manipulation, Metal Manipulation (Uniquely resistant to Lightning and Metal magic, due to possessing Fulmen and Allo affinities), Pain (Withstood the pain of getting stabbed with a burning sword and was still mobile and conscious), Limited resistance to Paralysis Inducement and Pressure Manipulation (When faced with Masuda's Eye of Death, Ryn and Omega were the only ones still able to move)

Same as before, plus Increased Statistics Amplification and Information Analysis (Has vastly improved his Reinforcement and Appraisal abilities over tow months of training), Stealth Mastery (Trained under Aida in hiding himself in his environment. Can hide his presence from other mages to snipe them despite their ability to sense magic and danger), enhanced Acrobatics (A far more agile fighter after training with Aida, who took inspiration from Zephyr and Gale to use an opponent's attacks to fuel his mobility), Enhanced Senses (Via Kitsune Mode; increasing his sight, smell, and hearing to a degree where he can sense every person within a kilometer of himself, as well as their gender by hearing their breathing), Pain Manipulation (Can increase his pain tolerance to dull his sense of pain), Martial Arts (Trained with Omega to hone his skill with unarmed combat, and uses his boosters in tandem with his unarmed attacks to increase his strength)

On his Own: Magnetism Manipulation (Obtained a large amount of blueprints from the workshop of Souji Satou, an artificer specializing in Magnetism), Attack Reflection (Can maneuver and reflect attacks, especially ones based on metal and electricity, through the electromagnetic fields his technology generates), Vastly enhanced Electricity Manipulation with the Aurum Coil (It is considered a revolution of electrical technology that allows him to fire electricity in various ways), Energy Projection (Can fire bolts of electricity from his hands with his Regalia), Danmaku (Can create chain lightning that hits dozens of opponents at once), Flight and Homing Attack with the Hexa Blades (The Hexa Blades are made up of six separate blade-like drones with flight and homing capabilities, allowing the weapon to split into its separate parts on impact, and reform afterwards. It can also shift its form into multiple weapons, including a whip-blade and shield), Statistics Amplification (Can vastly increase the cutting power of his weapons, as well as amplify his speed and the speed of his projectiles to a degree where the AI Saga couldn't keep up with it), Explosion Manipulation, Radiation Manipulation, and Plasma Manipulation with Tetrachromatic Strike (Sends his Lightning through multiple Field Rod filters, utilizing Burst, Aurora, and Arc magic). Psi and Chi: Both Freyson Numbers possess Aetheric Physiology (Minus Spiritual Abilities, using magical energy to mimic a soul barrier), Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Inorganic Physiology (Type 2), Weapon Mastery and Martial Arts (Programmed with combat knowledge, among other things such as knowledge of medicine, the human body and more common tasks such as housekeeping and cooking), Information Analysis, Accelerated Development, Enhanced Senses, Sound Manipulation, Light Manipulation, Memory Manipulation, Energy Manipulation, Regeneration (Mid-Low, via Self-Repair Liquid), limited Dimensional Storage, Transformation, Magic, Energy Projection, Flight, and Absorption. Psi possesses Telekinesis (Her Tetra Array is a series of four high-power energy blades which she can control through telekinesis), Vibration Manipulation, and Deconstruction (Used Upsilon's Atom Splitter, a two-pronged spear which creates vibrations to deconstruct anything that comes between the spear's points. Chi possesses Danmaku, Attack Reflection (Her Pearl Rebounders fire rapid shots that rebound off walls), Spatial Manipulation (Used Phi's Cross Splitter, a sniper rifle powered by Abis magicite that pierces space)

Resistance to Electricity Manipulation (Tanked being hit by Victor's lightning, which is ten times as powerful as a lightning bolt), Gravity Manipulation (Withstood Kei Ishiguro's magic which multiplies gravity by a factor of 20, and even used it to his advantage), Fear Manipulation (Unaffected by close proximity to Sangatsu's aura, which paralyzed the entire audience and even awakened a primal fear in Omega from a larger distance away), Pain (Walked off being shot, electrocuted, and crushed under 20x gravity without increasing his pain tolerance)

Attack Potency: Small Building Level+ (Comparable to base Omega, who could stop a speeding train when Overcharged), Building Level with Technology (Can create attacks with comparable AP to Omega's cannons when Overcharged by using Field Rods and Thunderer) and Preparation (Rebuilt Omega, and is in possession of her Blueprint, making him theoretically able to recreate her if given enough time and resources) | City Block Level (Much stronger than before after two months of training. Should be comparable to Shana and Omega), Multi-City Block Level with the Aurum Coil and Break-Barrel (These weapons can pierce through defenses that Thunderer is unable to even scratch), Up to Town Level+ by Absorbing and Redirecting Lightning (He was able to intake Victor's Lightning and turn it against him. When charged to 200% of his total capacity and unleashing all of his stored electricity at once, destroyed Tatsuya's Water Dragon)

Speed: Supersonic, Hypersonic with Appraisal (Comparable to Aida and Omega, who can dodge bullets after they've been fired. With Appraisal, was able to dodge and maneuver around Souji Satou's mach 10 railgun rounds) | At least Supersonic, At least Hypersonic with Appraisal (Should be faster than he was during the Black Hats arc. Able to perceive the path of Shana's meteor, which is comparable to Satou's bullets)

Lifting Strength: Unknown, Class 50 with Reinforcement (With Reinforcement, can enhance his strength to be on par with Omega) | Class 5 (Withstood Kei Ishiguro's magic that multiplies Gravity by 20), likely Class 100 with Reinforcement

Durability: Small Building Level+, Large Building Level+ against elements he resists (Survived Aiden's Fire God Slash, the latent heat of which melted a large boulder) | City Block Level, up to Large Town Level against Lightning (His Regalia absorbed a sustained blast from Victor's lightning, which was measured by Chi at 3 billion volts with 30,000 amperes. Survived being at the epicenter of releasing Indiscriminate Thunderclap at 200% of his power)

Stamina: Very High (His stamina should be roughly comparable to Zephyr's, who spent two days crossing a desert without food or water and was still able to fight multiple opponents at full strength afterwards. Shrugged off getting Stabbed with a burning sword. He can keep up Appraisal for two hours straight without any strain on his eyes)

Range: Melee Range with Thunderer, Tens of Meters with its casings and his Regalia's lightning. Through his discs and field rods, he can increase the range to Hundreds of Meters.

Standard Equipment:

  • Bag: A bag that Ryn carries equipment and materials in. He has enough knowledge and organization of its contents to use it to switch out weapons mid-combat.
  • Thunderer: A "Knifle", and Ryn's signature weapon. This weapon is a short sword combined with a Revolver, a gunblade that allows Ryn to fight at both short and long range. He uses specially-created magicite rounds made of both magical crystal and various types of metals, that allow him to fire with different elemental effects.
    • Fulmen Rounds: Bullets made of Tin casings wrapped around small crystals of Fulmen Magicite. Tin's association with the planet Zeis allows it to conduct electricity entirely well, firing a bolt of lightning out at opponents and electrifying them.
    • Pyra Rounds: Bullets made of copper casings wrapped around small crystals of Pyra Magicite. Copper's associations as a powerful conductor of magical energy increases the effects of the bullets and their efficiency, turning them into high-powered explosive shots.
  • Portable Table: A large table with built-in chairs and an umbrella, which can fold up and store itself as a small disc that Ryn can carry around in his pocket. It also has Insets with multiple sets of tools inside so that Ryn can better create technology.
  • Field Rods: A pair of blue rods, each topped with a crystalline sphere containing a piece of magicite inside. Made by Valerie Redbow and sold for commercial use, these two weapons are meant for controlling the local weather, being watered-down versions of her more potent ones that she uses herself. One field rod is topped with Pyra magicite on one end and Cyri magicite on the other, and the other is topped with Fulmen magicite on one end and Venti magicite on the other. When activated with the buttons on the sides, the Field Rods release "Fields" of mana, spheres that forcibly change the element of the mana inside them. These fields are about a foot in diameter and float around like bubbles, and produce violent bursts of elemental energy when combined. Ryn often chooses to shoot his magicite rounds through these fields to create multi-elemental projectiles.
  • Boots: Ryn's boots, and the first part of his Artificer's Regalia. They appear to be primarily normal-looking footwear, but there is more to them than meets the eye. Their heels contain small trackballs in the soles that allow Ryn to skate around the ground and spin about freely, and the tips of them can launch out wires that can pierce through metal and stick into solid surfaces, a small motor tugging on them and allowing Ryn to launch himself around at high speeds, building up Momentum for stronger strikes.

  • Thunderer MK II: An upgraded form of Thunderer, reformatted in the months leading up to the tournament. In keeping with his growing skill as an artificer, Ryn has increased the versatility of his gunblade, now possessing multiple blade attachments that he can swap out. With Ryn's increased skill in gunplay, he can also use it without an attachment, giving more accuracy to his shots.
    • Cyri Rounds: Rounds made of Cyri (Ice) magicite that generate shards and growths of ice, freezing whatever target they shoot.
    • Venti Rounds: Rounds made of Venti (Wind) magicite that generate blasts of air on impact, having a great knockback to them that sends foes flying.
    • Chainblade Mode: Ryn can detach Thunderer's blade from its handle and connect it via a thin strand of electricity, allowing Ryn to increase the weapon's range and turn it into a bladed whip of sorts.
  • Break-Barrel: A pistol base with a similar design to Thunderer. Rather than having a rotary ammunition chamber, however, it has two barrels meant for slugs to be loaded into. The gun has a significant amount more recoil than Thunderer, but in turn has far greater stopping power. He carries a variety of slugs in his bag, including standard metal rounds, and Pyra and Cyri rounds that explode into fire and ice on impact. Combining the latter two lets him utilize Rime fire.
  • Hexa Blades: A pair of six interconnected, blade-like drones, which can form into various configurations for battle. Individually, the drones possess flight and seeking capabilities, allowing them to chase down and attack foes, but they aren't very strong on their own. The Hexa Blades' strength comes primarily from their ability to combine and configure into a variety of ways. When Ryn acquired them, it was in the form of a throwing star, but they can also form a shield, a whip-sword, a serrated blade, and a flying disc to support its user.
  • Artificer's Regalia: A Regaila refers to the Ars Machina that an artificer wears into battle. It generally takes the form of an advanced set of armor, and typically has various functions built into it, created by the artificer himself. Ryn has developed a Regalia whose form is currently unknown, as he is hiding it under his clothing.
    • Mask: A retractable mask that covers Ryn's nose and mouth. Ryn got the idea to add this to his Regalia after the incident on the Valor-Alne train, and the mask acts as a filter to get rid of airborne threats, like sleep gas.
    • Boots: Upgraded boots that now integrate directly with his regalia. Ryn removed the hooks from them, but they now contain thrusters that allow Ryn to increase his speed.
    • Side-Mounted Mobility Cables: SMCs for short. These devices mounted against Ryn's hips took the grappling hooks from his boots and drastically extended the cables, as well as adding motors and spring-locks to allow him to fire them great distances on command. Ryn developed these to increase his mobility, letting him run up walls and swing between buildings at high speeds.
    • Magnetic Gauntlet: At least one of Ryn's gauntlets has a magnetic function that allows him to magnetize distant metal objects and pull them into his grip, even as powerful as Venus Nine.
    • Shield Gauntlet: Ryn's other gauntlet possesses a retractable shield, made from the same technology as his portable table. When activated, it rapidly unfolds and expands outward, letting him use it to block projectiles.
    • Aurum Coil: Ryn's signature, first invention. It is a coil of copper and tin, topped with a donut-shaped ring of metal, that when activated generates high-voltage, low-current, and high-frequency electricity. These coils are a revolution of electricity, capable of channeling it without the use of wires or the usage of magic simply by using the magical energy in the air as a power source, and has a wide variety of potential applications. Initially bulky and unwieldy in design, through the aid of Souji Satou's blueprints, Ryn compressed them down into a much sleeker form by the time of the tournament, storing them in his Regalia's shoulders.
      • Electricity Projectiles: Ryn can launch bolts of electricity from his arms by channeling it from the aurum coils. Notably, rather than the purple-colored lightning that electric magic tends to use, this lightning is a brilliant golden color, like the kind that comes from the heavens. This attack was able to push back San's soulstorm, which otherwise would have been impenetrable.
      • Electrical Charge: Ryn is capable of using the Aurum Coils to charge up his weapons with electricity to increase their cutting power and attacking speed. This is especially devastating against machinery due to its natural weakness against electricity. Ryn has shown the ability to increase the speed of his projectiles as well, allowing him to bypass the vector prediction of Saga.
      • Electrical Field: Ryn can create a field of electricity around his body that allows him to stop incoming electric and metallic attacks, freezing even Victor's lightning in place despite the esper's control over electromagnetism.
      • Absorption: Ryn is capable of absorbing large amounts of electricity from the environment, and even from his enemy's attacks, doing so with the lightning of Victor Lucioni. This forced Victor to use his secret technique, which utilizes physical force, to defeat Ryn, as he realized his lightning would be useless against him. He can absorb other types of energy as well; For example, aside from absorbing the magical energy from attacks, Ryn can also intake Kinetic energy, a technique he built into the armor from watching Hammond, building up power by attacking and getting attacked.
      • Lightning Filter: Ryn has integrated a Fulmen filter from the Field Rods into the chestpiece of his Regalia, allowing him to generate Lightning-elemental Mana Filters to further redirect his electric attacks.
      • Remote Detonation: By zapping his magicite rounds with electricity from afar, Ryn can trigger them and detonate them in the middle of their firing path, being precise enough to use this to disarm people with explosions.
      • Speed Amplification: Ryn can drastically enhance his speed by charging his own body with electricity, allowing his natural affinity to resist the harmful effects of such a thing. Using this, he can move much faster, described as appearing to be a flash of lightning whewn compared to his normal movement.
      • Chain Lightning: Ryn can generate arcs of electricity from the Aurum Coils that duplicate themselves multple times to hit large numbers of foes. Ryn can also focus it against specific types of metal by combining it with appraisal to analyze the metal's composition and specific magnetic field, compare it to the environment, and generate electricity at just the right voltage to attack those pieces of metal.
        • Indiscriminate Flash: A stronger form of Chain Lightning that releases electricity in the form of a massive wave in all directions, that doesn't discriminate between friend and foe. This attack is far stronger, but can briefly affect Ryn's brain with electrical impulses, causing him to momentarily freeze up after using it.
    • Magnet Discs: A pair of metal discs stored within the armor that Ryn can throw out. These discs float and rotate in the air, generating a strong magnetic field, and Ryn can use these to ricochet his shots and hit enemies from odd, unpredictable angles. Furthermore, Ryn can use these discs as rods for his lightning, letting him change its path just like he does with his bullets and letting him charge his other projectiles like he does with his melee weapons.
    • Twin Blades: A pair of long, thin blades stored in the back of Ryn's armor, which he can release with the push of a button. These blades draw power directly from the electricity his aurum coils generate, increasing their cutting power and surrounding them in an electric aura. These blades can also be used like stun batons to knock others out.

The automata developed by Einar Freyson, and the "Siblings" of Omega. Ryn has begun to awaken and repair them, with two being operational thus far. Each Freyson Number is named after a letter in the Arcadian Alphabet, and possesses their own unique personality, appearance, and signature weapon. None of them, however, have true souls, being ruled by their programming despite being able to accurately mimic sentience. All Freyson Numbers have the same frame and weaponry as Omega's initial key, and each has their own signature weapon that they can integrate with to power it using their reactors.

  • DFN-022 Chi: The older sister of Psi, bearing blue eyes, green hair tied into a braid, and a blue uniform with a wide neckpiece that covers her mouth. Chi is incredibly shy and soft-spoken due to possessing a glitch in her voice module that makes speaking more than one or two words at a time difficult. She isn't gifted in close combat, preferring to fight defensively and at a range.
    • Pearl Rebounders: Chi's main weapon, a large pair of white miniguns that fire projectiles made of compressed magical energy. These projectiles fire at 600 rounds per minute and are essentially limitless in ammunition due to Chi's reactor directly powering them; furthermore, they can ricochet and rebound off of surfaces, which combined with Chi's high levels of precision and eyesight allow her to essentially rapid-fire individual shots with the accuracy of a sniper rifle.
    • Cross Splitter: Chi used this weapon by borrowing it from her sister Upsilon, who was inoperational when Ryn, Omega, and Ainz Grimoire infiltrated Einar's lab. It is a high-impact sniper rifle containing an Abis magicite core, letting it fire shots made of red energy that can pierce through space.
  • DFN-023 Psi: The second-youngest Freyson Number, bearing green eyes, spiky white hair, and a red outfit complete with a short cape. Psi is aggressive and hot-headed, and bears a grudge on Omega for supposedly abandoning them after the death of Einar, but has begun to get over it over the course of the Tournament Arc. Psi is an aggressive, offensive fighter who doesn't like giving foes a chance to rest.
    • Tetra Array: A quartet of blade hilts connected to a charging port on Psi's back. She is capable of controlling these telekinetically, and each hilt can emit a blade of green magical energy that cuts through most materials. She can also extend the length of these blades up to one kilometer in a short timeframe, but the longer her blades are, the faster they drain their power supplies.
    • Atom Splitter: Psi used this weapon by borrowing it from her psister Phi, who was inoperational when Ryn, Omega, and Ainz Grimoire infiltrated Einar's lab. It is a two-pronged spear with prongs enhanced by wind magicite. The two highly precise prongs generate resonating vibrations between them, that destabilizes any object coming between them, turning it into dust.

  • Intelligence:

Genius when it comes to Combat and Machines, Gifted otherwise. Ryn is a gifted young man from a small town, and did well in school. He knows all the basic functions of magic, and is an extremely quick learner, on par with or even superior to Omega. Ryn excels in making decisions and staying calm in stressful situations, as well as using subtle context clues to figure out a person's true intentions. For example, while on a train with Omega and Aida that was being attacked by Black hats, it was Ryn who figured out that the Black Hats were after a specific person rather than simply holding the train for ransom by the way in which they were searching the train, and the nonlethal weaponry they were using.

Being an Artificer, Ryn is capable of developing advanced and highly efficient technology that surpasses the bounds of the society he lives in. Ryn uniquely possesses the inspiration specialization, allowing him to create technology based off of the unique design quirks of others, creating entirely new devices with multiple completely different functions working in tandem. Developed artificial senses of Taste and Smell for Omega simply by using his own senses as a reference point. Could recreate Omega's reactor by reverse-engineering it. Was able to defuse a complex bomb created by another artificer on his first try despite never having worked with explosives before. Designed blueprints for the Aurum Coil, a device meant to harness and generate unlimited electrical power, though he hadn't put them into practice yet due to time constraints.

Ryn is a skilled swordsman and a highly quick learner in a fight, and is an extremely analytical opponent who has a habit of categorizing details about the people he watches fight, both for the purposes of technology development and triumphing in battle. When fighting Souji Satou, Ryn was able to use the artificer's magnetic field against him through usage of his Field Rods, allowing him to divert the path of Satou's bullets and force him into a confrontation at close range. Discerned that Hammond was using Ki based on the sound his bullets made when they reflected off Hammond's skillet, recognizing the difference between a ki-based and magic-based defense. He does, however, have a basic fighting style, and has a bad habit of firing at an enemy's current location rather than where they're going, and thus uses his shots as deterrents while his real attacking comes at close range.

Genius when it comes to Combat and Machines, Gifted otherwise. The increase in Ryn's practicality and mental prowess is perhaps the greatest benefit he gained during his training. Under the tutelage of Aida, Hammond, and Soichiro, he has become much more perceptive, and covered many of his previous weaknesses. He was the first to notice the seals on Kei Ishiguro's gravity wells by observing the movements of the grass around him to detect their lack of effects from a distance.

Ryn completed the Aurum Coil and even built a Regalia around it, a full-body suit that gives him essentially limitless electrical power with various applications. Created a device to absorb Kinetic Energy and convert it into electricity. Built his Regalia, which was able to withstand electricity hundreds of times above its normal output. Reverse-engineered Valerie Akram's field rods and implemented them into his Regalia to change the elements of his lightning. Without appraisal, determined the age of Tatsuya's Venus Nine in an instant simply by holding it.

Ryn's skill has only increased with two months of training, and his fighting style has developed into one that favors indirect attacks and defensive motions rather than an all-out assault. His Marksmanship has vastly improved, able to fight foes in a ranged battle while both of them were falling at terminal velocity. Was able to dodge multiple knives and homing souls from Sangatsu despite them being thrown at much higher speeds than Ryn himself could move at. Used San's magic as cover for his own, throwing his magnetic discs around San's soulstorm to hide them from the Eostre's magic. Matched Victor, an esper with total control over electromagnetism and immunity to electric attacks, to the point where Victor actively needed to develop new abilities mid-battle just to stop Ryn from getting the upper hand. As shown in multiple instances, Ryn tends to bait opponents into attacking him to build up a charge in his Regalia and unleash much stronger hits. Outwitted the advanced AI Saga by adapting to her moves and programs on the fly, when she was initially able to predict and avoid every single one of his and Ainz's attacks. Against Kei Ishiguro, he figured out the exact power of his gravity wells and used them to slingshot himself and his shots around to bypass his gravity barrier. Figured out the vectors to ricochet his bullet around a building and hit a hidden target.

Weaknesses: Artificing requires preparation time. Ryn has ADHD, something that is shown in his unique style of artificing. He is unable to see a singular project through to the end, and instead specializes in making items with multiple functions to it, and can be rather excitable, as well as having a habit of putting lots of projects on the backburner due to his lack of motivation. Poor marksmanship when it comes to moving targets. | Same as before, minus his marksmanship issue due to training with Aida.

Key: Black Hats Arc | Tournament of Valor Arc

    Notable Attacks and Techniques:

    • Artificing: Unlike most mages, Ryn is an Artificer, allowing him to use a unique type of magic. Those that can use artificing generally possess an affinity for it from birth, and don’t tend to have much of an aptitude for other branches. Artificers, as they are called, are capable of forging and creating complex machinery, referred to as Magitek or Ars Machina, that is far beyond the capabilities of most civilizations. Artificers are thus valued for their ability to create magic devices that the Mage’s Association uses to carry out their duties.
      • Modular Devices: All artificers have a unique specialization that further dictates what type of items they excel in creating, as well as setting limitations. Rynild's specialization is in the formation of Modular devices, something which works in tandem with his ADHD. Ryn struggles to see projects through to the end when creating straightforward items, but he excels when creating things piecemeal, creating modular parts that he can swap out and items that he can modify at will. To that end, Most of his equipment has slots where pieces can be removed and reinserted. Thunderer uses a revolver base, but can attach weapons like blades to it, for example.
      • Reverse-Engineering: A subspecialty of Ryn's, born from the natural reactive ability of Artificers and Ryn's own natural gift for Appraisal magic. While all Artificers are capable of this, Ryn especially has a gift to build on the work of other artificers, improving it and integrating it into his own tech. For example, he was able to reverse-engineer Omega's unique form, and is capable of building devices that perfectly integrate into her body, such as senses of smell and taste.
    • Appraisal: Ryn forms small magic circles over his eyes that give him the appearance of wearing goggles. Appraisal allows the user to view the properties of materials, people, and items. As Ryn grows, the amount of different things that he can appraise grows as well, further developing its use and power as an otherwise unnoteworthy skill. Ryn's skill with Appraisal is considered to be extremely potent among its users; seeing as it is one of only two spells he's been able to learn, he has put all of his efforts into mastering it. Things he has shown to be able to appraise so far are:
      • Properties of magic materials
      • Inner workings of technology
      • The energy signatures of other people
      • Different types of metal
      • Faraway things such as city streets from several miles away
      • Individual muscle movements and stepping patterns
      • Slight footprints in the dust
      • The difference between hair and fur
      • Magnetic Fields
      • The vectors of attacks
      • Dark spaces that he otherwise couldn't see in
      • The elements of magic and the properties spells possess
    • Reinforcement: Ryn places his magical energy into an item, which enhances its properties in some way. Generally, he uses this to make a held weapon more durable, but it can also be used to do things like increase the sharpness of a sword, or even enhance his own body. Ryn is also capable of enhancing the power of his weapons by reinforcing them, allowing him to increase his strength by proxy, and can rapidly switch which parts of his body he's enhancing to keep his enemies on their toes.
      • Plural Reinforcement: After two months of training, Ryn is able to reinforce multiple different aspects of himself at the same time, no longer only buffing up one limb, but able to increase his whole body's strength at once.
      • Kitsune Mode: A sensory-type reinforcement in which Ryn increases his senses of sight, smell, and hearing, based off the senses of kitsune. This allowed him to sense the locations of every foe within a kilometer of his location during a tournament, as well as determining their gender from the sound of their breathing.
      • Pain Reinforcement: A sensory-type reinforcement in which Ryn increases his pain tolerance, allowing him to stave off the pain of wounds. It, however, does not increase his regeneration, meaning he risks hurting himself even more.
    • Aurum Coil Special Technique: Tetrachromatic Strike: A signature move developed by Ryn by combining the Field Rods with his Regalia. Ryn generates four fields, then sends bolts of lightning through all four of them, striking a foe with Lightning, Aurora, Explosion, and Plasma magic all at once.
      • Full-Power Tetrachromatic Strike: Similar to the base attack, this is performed when Ryn has absorbed a massive amount of lightning, vastly increasing the power of the four bolts.
