A child of illegitimacy Whisper is the secret daughter of ministry mare Fluttershy and Goldenblood, a result of an affair gone awry, genetic experimentation, and cryostasis.
Goldenblood, one of the most important ponies behind the scenes of Pre Apocalypse Equestria and a masterful manipulator, secretly had an affair with the ministry mare, Fluttershy. A polticial figure representing the ideological value of kindness. In the midst of a tumultuous political enviorment, Goldenblood, seeking stability in the government was unsure of how to accommodate with the public light. Blinded, he saw the child only as a political problem, one that would undermine the subtle control and power he had through Fluttershy and her ministry. Not wanting to kill the child however, he entrusted Trueblood, one of his subordinates working on the clone project, Project Chimera, with finding a humane solution to the problem. The however situation took a turn for the worse when Fluttershy entered labor prematurely, forcing Trueblood's staff to deliver the fragile Whisper early. Trueblood however, like many of Goldenblood's associates, secretly wanted a leg up on his superior, and publicly lied that the baby did not survive making it into stasis. This devastated Goldenblood's political positions and outlooks, and left Fluttershy more distant to society than ever before.
Secretly however, Trueblood had been able to stabilize the foal, by fusing her with a pegasus blank (clone template body.). Seeing value in the girls genetics, Trueblood kept the filly in and out of cryostasis, so that he could experiement on her genes.
On the last day before the apocalypse Whisper was put into cryostasis as the world above was reduced to a radioactive hellscape. There she remained dormant and frozen for nearly 200 years. It was then however that she was unfrozen by an Undead Trueblood, now going by Sanguine. Sanguine from there raised the young pegasus mare whom he had christened Psychoshy for her combative skills. Eventually Psychoshy would become known as one of the deadlest combatants in all the wastes, alongside her good friend and fellow Hoofington Reaper Rampage. In truth however, what mattered most to Psychoshy was that she was able to protect and please her adoptive father above all else.
In truth, just like over 200 years ago however, Sanguine only cared about Psychoshy for her genetics. He lied to the pegasus mare about saving her from a dying mares womb, and neglected to mention the full extent of their long history. In reality the true reason Sanguine had raised Psycho was because, through a mysterious source, Saguine had learned that in the final days of the war Goldenblood created a skeleton key megaspell program, "EC-1101", that would allow access unrestricted access to all of Pre War Equestria's technology and secrets, should among other requirements, the digital spells wielder be of Ministry Mare descent. This program survived the past 200 years, in a fallout shelter, searching for a pony who matched its genetic criteria.
There was problem however, a strike team and later one of Sanguine's highest ranked Reapers could not relinquish it from the Stable Mare that carried its lone surviving copy, Blackjack. All this rhyme or reason however was irrelevant to the brutal Psychoshy, who hated Blackjack purely for getting in her savior's way. But there was a flicker of change in her "Saviour" that Psycho grew to notice. With Each passing day, Sanguine seemed to grow more separated from the benign pony who raised her. His quest for the megaspell skeleton key growing more desperate by the day. Even as word spread of Security's death, Sanguine's insanity only grew. Striking out on her own, she tried to make a deal with Blackjack's friends behind Sanguines back, but she was denied. Unable to wait any longer, Sanguine ordered that Psychoshy assist his group in annihilating and committing various atrocities to settlements Blackjack had visited, hoping to drive her out of hiding. Though he eventually attained EC-1011, Psycho could not process the unforgiving cruelty Sanguine had developed. Even pleading with her supposed sworn enemy Blackjack to not kill Sanguine as they departed the scene.
Psycho was hence escorted back by Sanguine to where it had all began, Hippocratic Research, the home of Project Chimera. As the base was being blown apart from the outside for his treasonous nature, Sanguine, he angrily yelled at the growingly frightened Psychoshy in vain to activate EC-1101. However, despite her genetic clearance, the programs built in spiritual guardian was insistent on denying Sanguine complete access to the spell, giving Blackjack enough time to find the base. It's at this point here that Blackjack through Sanguine's own admission revealed to Psychoshy the truth of Sanguine's nature. That he never really cared about her, her life was a whole lie, and that he had intended to kill her once he had his family back. Psychoshy was was left blank and dazed at the situation unfolding before her, as her now disgraced idol rapidly devolved into zombie ghoul insanity, her whole world vanished before her like the mirage it was as the facility buckled apart. Blackjack, direly pleaded with Psychoshy to join her and escape but Psycho refused, the once proud and egotistical Reaper was absolutely horrified at the prospect of facing the world on her own.
But Blackjack felt Psycho deserved better than this, and a chance to be better. She knocked Psychoshy unconscious and escaped the crumbling base with her in tow. Though angry she couldn't die with the mirage of her past life, It was with this encounter that Psychoshy's outlook on life changed. The pony who was once Psychoshy's more most hated enemy, gave her her first real gift, the gift of choice.
