Summary[]
Nyarlathotep is the main antagonist of Collapse, an Outer God that wishes to distort the entirety of Creation. In a time before anything existed, he was the main representative of the Outer Gods, but was ousted and exiled from their place as he was regarded as an entity of pure chaos. After falling into the world, he would discover the existence of unstructured information and wished to use it to turn the world into a boiling chaos.
Backstory[]
Before Time, before Space, there was primordial nothingness. A primal void that sat in a perfect notion undivided by lofty things such as duality or law. It sat in satisfaction and comfort, before something happened. The event happened for unexplainable reason, no rhyme or reason to why it came into existence. Yet, existence was introduced into the Primordial Nothing. From existence being introduced into the nothing, it created an Omnigenesis. This utter flaw in the perfected nothingness made it scream out as worlds uncountable in number spawned into existence. This Nothingness would become known as the Ultimate Void, and those worlds would later become known as the Multiverse. The now Ultimate Void looked upon the ever-growing and ever-expansive Multiverse, watching it become a garden of infinite possibility. The Garden inspired it, and so the Ultimate Void created the Ultimate Gods.
How does this come back to Nyarlathotep? It was formed from the portion of every single Outer God as the left-hand of Azathoth, holding a portion of infinite knowledge. It was introduced to the Ultimate Void's history, and it saw the Garden's unexplainable creation and expansion. Yet, instead of observing and watching its growth like what many of its kind had done, Nyarlathotep went down onto the Multiverse. But it did not come for benevolent reasons, nor did it see its actions as revenge. No, the Faceless God came down onto the world to cause only chaos and destruction. It saw the Garden as a victim for it to play with. With its Nigh-Omnipotent power over the fabric of reality and Nigh-Omniscient knowledge on its structure, Nyarlathotep reigned over the Multiverse with death and suffering in its wake. Worlds fell in its presence, civilizations burned, and the skies rained down blood. The Outer Gods were unconcerned.
Despite how much suffering the Multiverse had faced in its stages of infancy, it still persisted, it thrived under Nyarlathotep's destructive rule. A fact that enraged it to no end, for what is suffering if one thrives in it? It began to plan, scheme, and figure out a way to truly make existence suffer. But that is when it came to a perfect solution. It looked to the right-hand, the Great Mother and the All-In-One. The All-In-One was under the rule of the Nameless Mist, and Nyarlathotep spoke to Yog-Sothoth. It convinced the All-In-One to devour the essence of its progeny, and take its true place as the right hand of Azathoth. Yog-Sothoth did so, and in its victory, mated with the Great Mother. From their reproduction, dozens upon dozens of their spawn were introduced into the Ultimate Void.
It was no longer a place of content, instead, it was like a crowded marketplace. Chaos reigned true in the realm beyond space and time. Nyarlathotep sat content in the discordance. Eventually however, the ruler Azathoth had shifted in its slumber, an event that made fear and terror spread across the pantheon. From fear, even the great Nyarlathotep shook in terror, all banded together to play their songs and keep the Great Blind Idiot entertained. But Nyarlathotep could not stop, it could not after watching the unregulated chaos. It had a taste when it came down into the Multiverse, and when it saw the chaos of the Great Old Ones. It planned, it schemed once again for an event that would truly cause the ultimate pain and chaos onto all of existence and nonexistence. Nyarlathotep spoke, convincing the Great Old Ones to kill their own kin, to prove their own worth, acting as if this was all done under the Outer Gods.
The great cosmic slaughter would be known as Hyperborea. As the Great Old Ones slaughtered each other and laid waste to their cosmic ichor across the stars, Nyarlathotep watched and laughed in utter glee. Even this destruction managed to reach the Ultimate Void, ripping apart its fabric. It preyed upon Cthulhu's connection to his sibling, making him consume his sibling's essence in an act of desperation. From behind the scenes, it laughed as it watched Cthulhu be exiled from his home by his own brethren. Eventually, Nyarlathotep's actions would catch up to the Outer God, and it was exiled onto the same atomic world that Cthulhu was banished to. Subsequently, that same individual would become Nyarlathotep's warden. An act that disgusted it.
In the years that followed, Nyarlathotep began to gain strength, its actions hidden from Cthulhu's gaze. It murdered gods and pantheons alike, absorbing their essence to become stronger than ever before. In this time, Nyarlathotep realized the hidden strength that humanity held, and flew past various Gates of the Mind. With the discovery, it faced Cthulhu. It was less of a battle, and more of a murder as it killed the Great Old One when it least expected it. With the expense of immense power, Nyarlathotep now stood upon the corpse of Cthulhu, and rejoiced in the kill. But before it could even escape, the wake of Cthulhu's death was seen by the Outer Gods, who had already created the necessary precautions if such were to happen. As Nyarlathotep began to break the bounds of reality, The Bindings were created, confining Nyarlathotep back onto the world. No matter how hard the Fallen Soul had tried, it was unable to break The Bindings.
So it went back to what it did best, planning and scheming.
Atop the corpse of Cthulhu, Nyarlathotep built the Borea, a gigantic structure of dizzying architecture. It was a city that became the central hub for advancement and technology, only continuing to grow in power. Eventually, the city would turn into its own continent and then assume control over the entire world. With the world now dominated under Nyarlathotep's grasp, the Crawling Chaos became its dictator in-hiding. During this time, Nyarlathotep would tap into the cosmic chains of The Bindings to uncover what lays beyond the world. What it discovered would lead to the horrific creations of the Corrupted Ones, unstructured information. The very essence of the Ultimate Void itself, anything unstructured information came into contact with was utterly annihilated and turned into nothing more than chaotic pools of nothingness.
This was the plan. This was Nyarlathotep's new trump card. So it experimented with the Corrupted Ones, working together with the King in Yellow, Hastur to create his legion of soldiers that would become the slayers of the Outer Gods. In their creation, Nyarlathotep used the flesh of Cthulhu, untainted by time, to collide with unstructured information. Thus, the first Corrupted Ones were born, entities that lacked any meaningful existence and were subservient only to the Crawling Chaos. Their existence were like flecks of darkness in the visions of the Outer Gods, but they were still seen by the nigh-omnipotent void entities. It wasn't done.
But that was until strange artifacts, unknown even to the Ultimate Void, came crashing down onto the world. The first Omikami had arrived. With it, was an opportunity. An opportunity to create a weapon that would allow Nyarlathotep to subsume all of Creation and turn it into nothing more than swirling chaos.
Appearance[]
As in his avatars, Nyarlathotep takes on the appearance of a young adult that always carry an air of mystery around them, almost literally as there seems to be red chains surrounding them. In any case, these avatars do wear an armored cloak, covering up their rather monstrous hands. The body itself, when stripped of its clothes, is nothing more than a blank and black slate of a being with monstrous proportions.
But as his true form, Nyarlathotep becomes what he always wishes the world to be. He appears as a totally black entity whose lower proportions are fused with the ground, making it a boiling sea of nothing but chaos. Many faces align the proportions of his body, representing the many avatars and faces he has been across history. These faces are white in appearance, though almost fused together due to a strange green goo.
Personality[]
Nyarlathotep is a very sadistic, cruel, and egotistic entity, a perfect psychopath that only delights in the suffering of others. As a manipulative being, he can read and understand the emotions of others quite easily, letting them play right into his hands with the right words and actions. Despite his exile, Nyarlathotep still sees himself as an Outer God, and as such, above humanity. In this contradictory sense, he does see humanity as insects, though still tortures them as he likes. But this is later explained as he is a sadistic torturer, and just likes to see anything squirm. Especially sentient entities that cannot do anything. While giving on the natural guise of a chaotic enjoyer, he is also very much an intelligent and cunning entity that can easily bide his patience.

- Möbius: Nyarlathotep's preferred weapon of choice, appearing as a long chain wrapping around his body. This weapon is summoned through the use of Alternative Observation to tear through space and time itself, rending the chain to forcefully come into existence. Thanks to such, the chain itself is infinite and will track its targets down throughout all of time and space. Once in contact with the target, it will crush their minds and instill fear on a primal level. This fear can be so great that the target dies on the spot.
Intelligence: Supergenius (Could trick the entirety of the world and create a plan spanning over multiple decades. Described to be a genius, though not as smart as Nixon. Responsible for all of the wars across history and could even foil the machinations and plotting of the Outer Gods, who are near-omniscient entities)
Weaknesses: Completely chaotic, which can often even distract himself from his plans. Immensely arrogant and prideful, unable to see himself as wrong. As he is empowered by hatred, if one fights with him without hatred, then he will be weakened. Although his Presence spans across the entirety of the planet, he needs to actively use it in order to control others and cannot control everyone all at once. Additionally, he can be halted by the amount of information and senses assaulting his mind through overwhelming his Presence.
Notable Attacks/Techniques:
Maddening Presence: Nyarlathotep's Presence, already being incredibly powerful, having covered the entirety of the planet in it already. This ability is, of course, inspired by the nature of the beings in the Cthulhu Mythos. This Presence is capable of making others go into the depths of insanity, never being able to be dragged back out. Even when spread to cover the entire planet, those who merely glimpse at his shadow are paralyzed in utter fear and unable to move whatsoever. But much like Nakano's Presence, Nyarlathotep's is also a Defensive and Offensive one as well. What has been described before is merely its defensive form. It's offensive form takes on the ability to allow Nyarlathotep to control anybody he likes. Though weakened as it is spread across the entirety of a planet, once Nyarlathotep drags it into himself, he gains the ability to alter and control probability itself.
The Final Gate: After the absorption of the Silver Key, Nyarlathotep unlocked all Gates of the psyche and became omnipotent over his own mind. As such, he would enter the limitless vacua of psychic energy that lays beyond. This allows for immense telekinetic potential and power to alter space-time on his own whims. Through this great power, he became an existence unknown to even those of the Outer Gods, a being that was only stitched together by pure psionic power. His existence is now no longer that of physicality or even metaphysical stature, instead inhabiting a deeper layer of existence. Beings who have unlocked the limitless vacua of the mind inhabit a level of reality where Paradox Demons stand, and their psionic power in time can be used to alter even the fabric of reality itself. Nyarlathotep proved this when he created an entire pocket dimension separated from the boundaries of the universe.
