~ Nora to MEGA |
Nora Brynhildr is a character from The Ark Collection, serving as a protagonist in the spin-off series Legend of Grimark. Living proof of periods worth of development is Nora, a homunculus created by her creator of the same surname, being a soulless puppet built with the Conjuncture Origin Regulator Engine (CORE[6]). This device was supposedly proclaimed to put Brynhildr's name out there to increase her chance of getting the prestigious Artificer Award. Overall, a passion project that would benefit her creator, the project took more out of Brynhildr than anything, creating an "innocuous complexion" derived from her dedication toward her passion. Due to Nora's physiology, instead of a brain, Nora has a CORE instilled into her as a method to formulate and communicate thoughts like a stereotypical human. As a byproduct of the CORE, Nora has an ability called Eidos, which allows her to overclock her CORE to project mental activity onto the real world. As an effect of rationalizing her CORE, Nora believed that the memories she recalled were her own despite that being a lie. Through Edios and its potency, Nora altered reality to satisfy the mundane nature of her false memories, creating a reality where she is actually Nora Brynhildr, a being derived from her falsified memories, exemplifying a universal Mandela Effect. Nora cannot, and will never be correct about everything, all the time regarding her past. Because, just like Nora, everything is tangled in lies. For whatever it's worth, Nora's story starts with figuring out her origin. Upon getting caught in the crossfire of an act of domestic terrorism, Nora being checked out at the hospital was the first call to the inaccuracies in her memories as she finds out she isn't a human. Through fabricated will and misremembering is an empty husk of what seemed to be a relative enigma. Nora's life was changed forever, starting the story of Nora reinventing what she knew about herself as she went on a journey to find her creator, partaking in a path of self-discovery.
Background[]
Brynhildr's situation grew more complex as time passed. Lack of time combined with the crumbling economy and family responsibilities caused her to take more desperate methods to complete the CORE project and, in doing so, forced her to run into adversaries of her family. Having her bloodline threatened along with all her hard work, Brynhildr sacrifices it all to complete the CORE project. Managing to finish the project, Brynhildr recognizes the weight of her decision, having an epiphany of realizing she didn't appreciate what she had, going after an idea in her head. Acknowledging the cost of abandoning her family's tradition and putting the bloodline in peril, Brynhildr passes on the family weapon to Nora by incorporating it into her Eidos ability to make up for disregarding their family teaching to work full time on Nora. Brynhildr's mistake eventually catches up with her, resulting in a high-class bounty being put on her head. Unsure of her survival, she creates a last-minute scheme called "Journey to the Regnal of Odin," which entails her giving Nora fake memories to ensure her a mundane life to prevent being targeted, and depending on her choice to learn about her origin, she would slowly unlock her sealed memories thus getting closer to Odin.
Appearance[]
Nora stands tall, at 172.9cm (1.73m), embodying an above-average woman blessed with silky smooth blonde hair that exuberates a heavenly aura. Wrinkless and blemishless, Nora looks like a doll, achieving natural skin that puts Neutrogena out of business. Thanks to her hereditary altered genes and trait, which makes cellular senescence obsolete. Indentations and skin discoloration are abnormalities that are genetically impossible. Nora's color scheme highlights the contrast of light and dark palette colors, creating a flamboyant pop. Being besmeared all over with a drab blue tinted skirt overlayed on top of a sleeveless white collared shirt, cobbling together a contrast of dark blue and white. The fusion of Nora's dress, collar shirt, and a black ascot fitted with frills plastered into her white shirt creates a classy look reminiscent of the Virgin Killer Outfit[7]. As a gift that keeps on giving is the Embroidery Cloak that enfolds Nora's frame, slightly obscuring her forearm with its striking design fitted over her entire ensemble. Nora's short, braided hair delicately frames her face, nearly extending past her chin and turning into a neat bun toward the posterior of her head[8].
As if Nora wasn't fancý (with an accent on the y) enough already, you'd assume she drinks tea with her pinky out. Staring her down won't help; she doesn't consume tea all too often, and the thing is, any fool glancing in her general direction would notice her busty physique instead of her British-like mannerisms. Depending on the person, they may see captivating empyrean sapphire eyes, instilling a euphoric rush in all that meet contact with Nora's eyes. Some might see someone fitted with some muscle definition and a curvaceous figure. Nora stands out as a semi-idolized version of the average ark woman, being somewhat exaggerated. Ark people like to dream big, and thus "big back pain," along with an order of "big trunk support," comes preinstalled in Nora. Despite how Nora feels about her body, she stays ignorant of other people's comments, as she continues to assume everyone is embellishing her build. If Nora was a DND character, she would fail the perception check each time because she fails to acknowledge how people see her. Nora sees herself as an average woman, even failing to understand the nature of Pira's nickname for her, "big tiddey girl." As a nature of her Eidos, Nora's body exemplifies Ark's standard because she views herself as the average Ark woman. Love or hate her, Nora has officially become the representative of the Helen measurement.
As an artificial human, Nora was designed to one-up humans in all aspects, including appearance. Skin, scent, allure, mannerisms, sex appeal, and muscle composition are some of the improved characteristics bestowed upon Nora to satisfy the superhuman-esque design Nora was meant to fit into; because of that, Nora doesn't have to put as much investment into her body compared to everyone else. Nora's muscles are defined enough to get a pass by any fitness trainer, and her overall gleam and sheen add to the whole "heaven aesthetic." Nora is decent enough to have the likes of MEGA and Pira attempt to hit on her. While MEGA disclosed a bit of concern about Nora's unnatural proportions, Pira did not, showing how MEGA, albeit a reincarnate, is unfamiliar with Ark's average person. Both, however, commented on her rather hefty bosom, which made her uncomfortable. A downside to her physiology is her outlandish weight, as Nora stands at a staggering 116.57kg (257 lbs), as the structure of her muscles and brain proved to be denser. Nora's weight also adds to the list of sensitive topics, which puts her at unease, being second to her chest.
Personality[]
Nora Brynhildr is a well-mannered, pleasant woman, seen through her debut at a local seafood restaurant in Blossoming Hills. Tackling the hardships of working as a waitress, Nora manages to find some way to be unaffected by the seven sins of working a customer service job: such as entitled customers, patrons who make a big deal over everything, blatant womanizers, customers who steal tips, over pretentious douchebags, people who don't tip, and consumers who only order multiple glasses of water. Nora is stoic in that regard, self-reserved, and fitted with patience stronger than steel. Don't let Nora's incomprehensible tolerance for causal hijinks fool you, as Nora's weakness would be humiliation. Like a medieval duchess, Nora appreciates proper etiquette and gets second-hand shame from anything remotely improper, such as nudity. Contrariwise to the dutchess analogy, Nora doesn't have her head stuck up her ass, being quite humble to the point of special treatment making her uncomfortable.
Nora is quite a unique case. Due to being self-aware of her physiology, she is insecure regarding what she is, not wanting to be viewed as if she were the queen's daughter. Disregarding the hypotheticals, she has yet to do anything notable. Nora is an ordinary person doing uneventful work, dwelling on typical dreams, and engaging in usual hobbies. Being on the receiving end of compliments and other gestures would make her self-reflect on what she's done to deserve anything good coming her way. The introspection would remind Nora of what she truly is: a homunculus with fake memories, which rubs her the wrong way. To Nora, she is given attention for what she is instead of who she is. Nora desires life and all the hardships that come with it. In a nutshell, Nora wants the human experience. She wants to be treated like an average person. Until Nora becomes somebody, she will continue to work on herself until she deserves special treatment.
Hardworking and Humble, fixated on finding her creator to better the existential dread that plagues her, Nora Brynhildr is a homunculus with Flowers for Algernon, an Average Joe; who doesn't know what the fuck is going on. Because of her fixation on seeing people eye-to-eye and her crazy tolerance toward miserable people, Nora is a sweetheart. Nora doesn't discriminate and doesn't judge books by their cover. She sure in hell isn't disrespectful. If anything could be taken from Nora, she is a kiss-ass. Nora is too friendly, even being called a saint. Almace, whom Nora views as such a high guard, practically asks Nora to create something for her in most of their interactions. Friendly to a fault, Nora puts herself at work for other people's happiness.

Almace Alcatraz[]
“ | Become Almace. Almace is a kind-hearted Samaritan, someone that shrugs off their own achievement to focus on others. While she does often complain... that just shows that Almace isn't invincible, that she's just someone expressing what she likes and dislikes; a normal person. I would like to become Almace, just to be a better person. | „ |
~ Nora answers Marry, Breed, Enslave, Become, and Kill, using each of the main characters, and carries out one of the aforementioned actions to each of the primary characters. Her answer was to become Almace. |
Nora answers a fun out-of-setting question giving an insight into her opinion on each of the cast members. The aforementioned characters include Almace Alcatraz, Ione, Camille, MEGA, Reina Solaris, Reverie, and Sierra Myst.
As for Almace, Nora adores Almace's down-to-earth nature, being able to talk her head off about what she likes and dislikes. Almace is very expressive, being able to leave an everlasting impression on Nora when they first met in the hospital. Almace's job alone was a reason to consider her as someone of importance, but the way Almace portrays herself contrasts that belief. Almace is and always will be a normal person even when they are a piece of the absurd world of Ark. Nora appreciates her perfections and imperfections, such as their questionable methods of conduct or moments of self-indulgence. To Nora, Almace is just human despite being a catgirl.
“ | "No, I don't agree with that; In fact, I think you are amazing. Because of that, I would rather do this on my own." | „ |
~ Nora to Almace |
Nora thinks of Almace as a friend, someone to talk to about her problems. They have a mutual relationship where both parties are helping the other in some way. Whether it's a part of Almace's good seminarian nature or the kindness in her heart, it didn't matter; because to Nora, each part is appreciated by her. Without Almace, Nora wouldn't be where she is. Because of how much of a helping hand Almace has been, Nora wanted to handle the rest from there on out.
Quotes[]

Durability: Large Building Level (3.76 Tons ー Comparable to her strength. Tanked Gunner's relatively weak bullets, which put a couple of minor dents into Sierra Myst. Sparred with a causal MEGA becoming a punching bag in the process. Nora Should be comparable if not stronger than Almace, who headbutted S-Rank Adventurer Vesta Lapid, who possessed 11 years of training), City Block level with 200% (37.6 Tons ー Tanked Almace's Jumping Knee Strike and was unfazed by a twister she conjured up. Nora, at 200%, can tank tens times more compared to 100%), Multi-City Block Level with 300% (376 Tons ー Tens times more durable than 200%) | City Block Level (32.3 Tons of TNT ー More durable than before. Lifting Strength: Class G (1.17e+9kg — Capable of swinging twelve ton sword around in a 360 at hypersonic speed as though it is weightless), higher with 200% (1.17e+10kg — Ten times stronger than her base), even higher with 300% (1.17e+11kg — Ten times stronger than 200%) | Class G (1.17e+9kg — Stronger than before), higher with 200% (1.17e+10kg — Ten times stronger than her base), even higher with 300% (1.17e+11kg — Ten times stronger than 200%)
Stamina: Virtually Limitless (CORE is powered by the proposition of cogito, ergo sum. As long as Nora is capable of thinking, whether it be doubting her existence or constructing various weapons through her psychic power, Nora will be sustained as long as that constant is present. Since her debut in Ark, Nora has never mentioned or insinuated that she was tired. Can do this until the end of time)
Range: Standard Melee Range, Extended Melee Range with Gungnir, Hundreds of Meters with throwing Gungnir | Up to Planetary via Size Manipulation with Gungnir (Stopped a planetary attack by increasing Gungnir's size, witnessing it crashing into aforementioned planetary attack during its expansion. Up to 89,006.50km)
Powers and Abilities:
Superhuman Physical Characteristics (Synthetic Human ー a result of reverse engineering of the human genome altered to surpass the human condition, creating superhumans), Extrasensory Perception & Enhanced Senses (Retained the natural feel of mana from falsified memories to the point of being able to perceive and distinguish different mana signatures. Can perceive pigments outside the human eye's capacities and visualize faulty points on objects through mere glances), Self-Sustenance (Type I, II, and III ー Homunculi are aberrations of nature being a mere irregularity excused from stereotypical restrictions such as being tired or hungry), Immortality (Type I, II, & III ー Homunculi are unaffected by cellular senescence, bypassing the inescapable deterioration of cells associated with aging[I]; Are usually still operational after sustaining heavy damage to their vitals[II]; Can reconfigure their body overtime[III]), Regeneration (High-Low to Low-High overtime ー Homunculi can regenerate intensive damage done to one's own body, such as gashes and perforations instantaneous, given time they should be able to reconfigure their entire body through stem cells), Information Analysis (Resonance ー Through Resonance, Nora can discern information by synchronizing her brainwave frequency to match that of another entity and momentarily invading their mindscape, allowing her to gain memories and potentially Eidos ability if used on another Core User) Body Control (As a Homunculi ー Nora's control of her vessel far exceeds a standalone human. One of these bypasses includes absolute control of the processes within her body, being able to change the material properties of her cells and control cells individually. Through the Conservation of Self, Nora could theoretically alter the intrinsic properties of her ontological placement in reality, subsequently modifying each aspect of her physical vessel), Resurrection of the Mind (Ego Death & Rebirth ー the CORE is capable of restarting the host's Ego in case of an Ego Death, causing an enigma known as Lazarus Mind. Through Ego Rebirth, the user's mental state is reset, ridding any potential status effect such as madness or trauma), Accelerated Development (Nora's ability to adapt is similar to other humans in Ark. Nora being a homunculus is a guise exemplifying herself as an enhanced human taking the human's ability to grow stronger, faster, and overall more efficient and cranking it to its maximum. Nora's growth is fortified by Eidos and how CORE's limit of mental projection increases logarithmically for each time the user limit breaks), Invulnerability with Gungnir (Gungnir is Nora's conception of Heaven manifested as a weapon, which holds the power of the commandments so long as people hold the belief of Heaven in their hearts. In this key, Nora has access to the commandment of patience, which states that Gungnir shall not be broken, rendering it an unbreakable blade. Even if it is damaged by the usage of durability negating techniques, it can be restored back to its full glory by Nora), and Acrobatics (Homunculi Physique ー Nora can execute maneuvers that are beyond human capabilities. Moreover, she has taken it a step further by integrating movements once considered impossible for humans and making them achievable).
All previous abilities with the addition of...
- Abilities regarding the ID part of CORE include: Accelerated Development (Desire ー Nora's Eidological reaction toward her ID will bestow her with an ability tailored to her current desire. Primarily used to increase her stats as her main desire at the time was "grow stronger," a vague desire that would be satisfied through amps. Previously was used to give Almace a resistance to madness manipulation), Rage Power (Conservation of Self ー By overclocking her ID, Nora can enhance her abilities, but this comes at the expense of her ability to make rational decisions and may result in a decline in her sanity due to the Law of Conservation of Self), Social Influencing, Probability Manipulation & Awakened Power (Desire ー Nora's telekinetic presence exudes her ID, this substance alters reality to appease her immediate wishes, all of which are sustained through her thoughts. Nora's desires and thoughts spread outward through her telekinesis, permeating nearby targets and altering their thinking to align with her own desires, making them more inclined to fulfil her wishes. Additionally, her influence over reality extends to probability, allowing her to increase the likelihood of a desired outcome).
- Abilities regarding the EGO part of CORE include: Telekinesis, Subjective Reality (Cognito, Ergo Sum ー Nora has Eidos, a specialized form of telekinesis, which involves projecting thoughts and information from oneself onto an external object, enabling direct manipulation of that object. This power allows Nora to interact with the physical world through her own unique expression, which is sustained by her declaration of existence. Being a transmission of one's own imagination, Nora's Eidos revolves around creating concepts and harboring said abstracts in Nora's CORE and manifesting them when desired), Summoning (Ragna Astralization ー Nora possesses the ability to summon Gungnir, which serves as the precursor to her inner conceptual realm known as the Regnal of Odin. Gungnir is a sacred construct that appears in the form of a spear, with a sizeable sheath that can transform it into a buster sword), Biological Manipulation (Cognito, Ergo Sum ー Nora takes the form of her EGO, which serves as a mental construct responsible for managing all aspects of the user. Nora's sentiments contribute to her physiological state, and her beliefs alone shape her biological makeup. The synchronization between one's EGO and reality determines the extent reality bends to their will. For Nora, a higher ego allows her to alter her species entirely, meaning Nora has the potential to transform into a different species if her EGO is sufficiently developed. Furthermore, if Nora possesses sufficient EGO, her telekinetic abilities can influence reality to match her thoughts. She has previously transformed herself into a human by simply believing that she was one. Similarly, Nora can also alter the physiological characteristics of others, turning them into different species based on their appearance. If Nora dwells on the idea that her target appears human-like, then her telekinesis will bleed onto the world making that distinction a reality).
- Abilities regarding the Superego part of CORE include: Reality Warping (Ethereal Break ー The Superego is a psychological framework that encompasses everything outside of the EGO, allowing for direct manipulation of the surrounding world. Rather than simply emitting information to interact with the environment, users of this framework overlay their perception of the world onto reality, effectively erasing any unexpected elements, potentially including their own self), Self Destruction and Existence Erasure (Ethereal Break ー By overextending their Superego and adhering to the principles of the Conservation of Self, users can rid of unwanted element in reality, but this comes at expense of their wellbeing).
All previous abilities with the addition of Telekinetic Amplification (Can compensate for her lack of strength for telekinetic energy, which allows her to move things with her mind. Although it's limited to a physical amp, its application is unlimited when it comes to her creations), Afterimage Creation (Can create afterimages through flash stepping), Power Bestowal (The user has the ability to transfer telekinetic energy to both allies and adversaries. Depending on the user's intent and desire, this can manifest as either abilities or resistances to effectively deal with any challenging situations that may arise), Thought Detection (Capable of receiving telepathic messages), possibly Life Manipulation (Created a block of carbon, which is the building block of life, while attempting to create a rabbit).
Immunity to Soul Manipulation (Lacks a soul). Unconventional Resistance to Biological Manipulation & Disease Manipulation (Nora's body is a mere vessel of the CORE, which contains her essence. As a result of the cogito ergo sum proposition, Nora's body itself is a declaration of her existence, which means to manipulate Nora's biology, you would in turn have to alter her mind. Nora could theoretically alter the intrinsic properties of her ontological placement in reality, subsequently modifying each aspect of her physical vessel, ridding any possible disease). Resistance to Pressure Points (Nora possesses no pressure points. Homunculi are designed without faulty points that lead to major injuries or the handicapping of a particular part of the body), Age Manipulation (Homunculi are unaffected by cellular senescence, bypassing the inescapable deterioration of cells associated with aging), Radiation Manipulation (As a standard Ark civilian, Nora possesses a tolerance suited toward the blue giant star they have as a sun), Madness Manipulation (Type I & III; Was unaffected by the madness effect garnered from perceiving angels), and possibly Sleep Manipulation (Miraculously woke up from Gunner's sleep-inducing bullets faster than normal civilians who were affected).
All previous abilities to a greater extent with the addition of Size Manipulation (With enough desire, Nora has the ability to change the properties of all matter and concepts created through Ragna Astralization. In the past, Nora demonstrated this power by rapidly increasing the size of Gungnir to an enormous extent. This altered weapon was then able to collide with a planetary attack that was headed towards Nora), Retrocognition, Perception Manipulation (When Nora overthinks, she has the ability to overclock her senses, which enables her to perceive things at a slower rate than they appear, thereby allowing her to process information at a faster rate), Retrocognition, Telepathy and Mind Manipulation (Nora has the ability to manipulate her own wavelength, which enables her to produce a resonance call that synchronizes the minds of two entities. This synchronization allows her to extract thoughts, memories, and fragments of information from her target. Nora can also use her skills to temporarily overwhelm a person's mind with enough probing, leading to them being knocked out).
All previous abilities to a greater extent, Cosmic Radiation (Was unaffected by the cosmic radiation present from Eero's pocket dimension), Memory Manipulation (Was able to stop their memories from being accessed through a forced Resonance Call, even being able to deny the information that would have realized through Anamnesis).
Intelligence[]
Gifted, Nora is familiar with the inner workings of highly sophisticated hardware, able to recreate sentry turrets and otherworldly items such as the divine blade Gungnir. Aside from creating materialistic things from the mind, Nora can overclock her brain activity with sheer pondering. Nora's ability to process information, use logic and reason and even corroborate hypotheticals is greatly enhanced through sheer reactive brainpower. CORE, as a theoretical mind, is capable of creating abstractions and potentially perfect ideas that have an influence on reality itself. As a host, Nora has been able to amplify her brain activity a thousandfold through simply thinking. Nora constructed and materialized the building block of life, Carbon while attempting to make a rabbit. Nora as a concept will continue to exist as long as she keeps thinking, as a result of the cogito, ergo sum proposition powering her CORE. CORE's metacognition and self-awareness are excellent enough to resuscitate the host's Ego in case of an Ego Death, causing an enigma known as Lazarus's Mind.
Weaknesses[]
- Lack of Magic: Nora lacks the prerequisite of Magic, that being a soul. This is also a benefit due to soul-based attacks being ineffective.
- Regeneration: Nora's regeneration relies on stem cells, which she can use to reconstruct her body. If her vessel is destroyed, Nora's regeneration will take months to years to remake her entire body from scratch.
- Combat Experience: Lack of fighting experience. Nora fights like a video game character and makes impractical moves that should not work. Attacks and strategies grounded in reality rather than flashy fiction moves are bound to work and should outskill, a case example being MEGA vs. Nora.
- Eidos: Superego. Lower Ego and Superego contribute to Nora's reason for logic and her ethics and morals, meaning she could theoretically go AWOL if she were to be in a team match.
- Lack of Resistance: Nora does not resist mind-based attacks or Almace's memory Magic. Ego Rebirth might be a counter, but it is only plausible if Nora's CORE is intact.
- Conservation of Self: Conservation of Self has detrimental side-effects to the user for breaking their uppermost limit. In this case, Nora's uppermost limit is 400%. The higher the limit, the more lethal the side-effects of Conservation of Self are. Despite already surpassing the baseline limit of 100%, passing it in activity again still damages the user's psyche, just not as harmful as the first they broke said limit.
- Eidos Sensitivity to Emotion: How easy it is to upset or annoy Nora. Nora's Eidos is based on her thinking, so every action would fluctuate the percentage of each psychological construct that makes her Core. The more Nora gets toyed around, the higher her ID and desire to get out of the unfavorable situation, contributing to a lower Ego and Superego.
- Eidological Reaction: Ethereal Break's cost regarding the Conservation of Self is the most detrimental to Nora's Psyche.

CORE is the construct that perpetuates Nora's existence, being an artificial mind that hosts Nora's essence, her alternative to a soul. CORE comprises three elements that define all facets of Nora's qualia and intrinsic bits of information that determine her well-being: Eidos, Monad, and Parameters. All three components create an EMP, both physically and acronymically.
- Acronymically: In the context of CORE, an EMP is short for Essence Management Partition, a configurable dataset that alters Nora's abilities and influences reality.
- Physically: The EMP generates electromagnetic signals, being the CORE's equivalent to a heartbeat except for its brainwaves. These electromagnetic pulses contain the user's history, thoughts, and other mental identifiers that catalog unique information, creating a unique physiological property called Resonance.
Essence Management Partition[]
The EMP comprises Eidos, Monad, and Phainomena. The rest of the definitions and examples will use Nora as the subject topic.
Eidos (lit. "form," "idea," or "essence") - Eidos is mainly the formulation and manifestation of abstractions derived from one's thoughts and ideas. Localized through brain activity, Eidos is the stimulation of the three psychological constructs: EGO, ID, and SUPEREGO, being translated into noumena that bleed into all facets of reality. Eidos leaves imprints on the noumenal realm, a materialistic realm existing independent from senses, being an objective abstraction that defines the qualia to be experienced from reality.
- Personal Eidos:
- Ragna Astralization is Nora's personal expression of her essence, providing a way of interacting with reality. Ragna Astralization concerns ideas and brings them forth into the world. As a result of this ability to interact with the world through sheer generalization, the ideas and concepts created through Ragna Astralization will continue to exist as long as the user continues to declare their existence as all concepts conjured by Ragna Astralization are an extension of the user's reality.
Eidos has three parts: ID, Ego, and Superego, each contributing to what makes Nora who she is. The three psychological constructs are measured in percent regarding how much activity is being done in each construct, working like a CPU.
- ID (lit. "that" or "it") The psyche in psychoanalytic theory is entirely unconscious and is the source of psychic energy derived from instinctual needs and drives. Nora's wants and needs, whether out of wants or needs, ID seeks to award pleasure through satiating one's desire, ranging from libido, cravings, validation, survival instinct, materialistic items, etc. If something is desired, it is the ID, as in Nora wants "it."
- Ego (lit. "The self," or "I") is the psyche in psychoanalytic theory that serves as the organized conscious mediator between the person and reality, especially by functioning both in the perception of and adaptation to reality. Being the core aspect of Nora's rationalization of reality, Ego is the source of psychic energy emanating from Nora's influence and overall grasp on reality. Ego is Nora's manner of conduct, from her pet peeves to "the method to her madness," down to her self-awareness.
- Superego (lit. "Over the self") is the psyche in psychoanalytic theory that is only partly conscious, represents the internalization of parental conscience and the rules of society, and functions to reward and punish through a system of moral attitudes, conscience, and a sense of guilt. Being the ethical and most hypercritical part of Nora's mind, the Superego represents what Nora aims to be, the ideal self or Ideal Ego. The Superego is the source of psychic energy stemming from Nora's lack of living up to expectations, an area of self-reflection usually shown in a moment of weakness or when everything goes wrong. Aside from reflection, the Superego is also simulated through imperfections with the world and constant fixation on making everything perfect, a perfectionist, if you will.
The ID, Ego, and Superego each affect the properties of Nora's creations created through Ragna Astralization.
- ID Activity - Determines how likely the user is to expand to said creation or concept or even how likely said idea is to materialize into reality through Ragna Astralization.
- Ego Activity - The item influences reality, including its durability and potency.
- Superego Activity - How perfect a creation is from its initial concept.
Monad (lit "unit," "unity," "one") - Monads are augments that exemplify specific concepts. These self-contained abstractions extrapolate interactions from the world, interpreting them by assimilating the user's presumed applications of these concepts. This harmonization allows users to harness ideas effectively by flexibly applying their interpretations of how these concepts can be used. The context generated by monads invokes desired outcomes based on the user's understanding.
Monads are based on functional computation ideas, not philosophical ideas. They are functions that extract parameters and apply instructions. Due to such, chaining Monads is possible. Nora could extract values from one monad and apply instructions intended to be utilized for another Monad. Nevertheless, she is unifying conditions.
Phainomena (lit. "appearance," or "shape") - The molding or shaping of one's intrinsic features, such as the host's parameters.
Eidological Terms[]
Anamnesis is the idea that life possesses innate knowledge and that learning consists of rediscovering that knowledge from within. Described as a transformed form of Psyche, Anamnesis is a primordial exposition of experience, a continuation of the self one might have forgotten. Nora's method of Anamnesis is through Ego Rebirth, which consists of the death of her Ego.
- Ego Rebirth is the resurrection of one's mindscape following an abrupt Ego Death, which is the surrendering of one's identity, beginning the shift into the afterlife. The Ego is resuscitated before one can fully be pronounced dead, similar to Lazarus Syndrome. Due to dying, the qualia of one's life flashing before their eyes is experienced, leading back to Anamnesis.
Eidolocial Principles or Reactions occur when one of the three psychological constructs reaches its limit of activity following the concept of Conservation of Self. Due to ID, Ego, and Superego activity being measured through percentage, going 100% in any of the three constructs qualifies for a reaction. Obtaining 100% in ID results in a Limit Break, Maximizing Ego activity results in a Boundary Break and an Ethereal Break for Superego.
- Limit Break - The overextension of one's ID manifesting as an Eidological reaction of one's active ID, resulting in the evolution of one's capabilities to further their underlying desire.
- Boundary Break - The overextension of one's Ego, manifesting as an Eidological reaction to one's active Ego, being a conscious effort to influence and rationalize reality, altering it in the way the user sees fit.
- Ethereal Break The overextension of one's Superego, manifesting as an Eidological reaction to one's active Superego, serving as the hyper fixation on one's criticism and perfectionist nature, bringing forth the removal of all things deemed flawed.
Cogito, Ergo Sum is a proposition that defines Nora's existence, the source of her infinite stamina and energy that powers her CORE. Due to Cogito, Ergo Sum is a part of CORE. It plays a role in Eidos being the constant representing the ID, Ego, and Superego's activity. It states for as long as the host is capable of thinking, whether it be the doubting of her existence or the construction of various thoughts, the host will be sustained as long as that constant is present. Without Cogito, Ergo Sum, no CORE, vessel, or Nora exists.
Each Eidological Principle follows the Conservation of Self. Reaching the uppermost limit of each psychological construct warrants various side effects.
- Limit Break - Headaches, Migraines, Loss of Awareness, Potential Loss of Consciousness, Head Strain, Eye Strain, Nausea, Cellular Necrosis, Seizures, and Potential Brain hemorrhages.
- Boundary Break - Psychedelic Experiences, Confusion, Loss of Awareness, Vestibular System Failure, Kinesthetic Sense Failure, Psychosis, and Potential Coma.
- Ethereal Break - Cellular Necrosis, Seizures, Brain Damage, Failure of Cognitive Functions, Loss of Humanity, Brain Death, Abnormal Mutation of Brain cells, Brain Cancer, and potential Death.
Note: Limit Break is also known to break the user's limit. When first obtained, Nora was able to break her limiter, bringing the limit of Eidos to 200%, meaning each time Limit Break is received, the limit of Eidos is brought up by another 100%.
- 100% Eidos = ID (X) + Ego (Y) + Superego (Z); whereas X + Y + Z is equal or below 100. If Nora had broken her limit once, it would be 200%, meaning X + Y + Z can equal anything as long as it is equal to or below her limit unless she breaks it through Conservation of Self.
Conservation of Self: The user's progression to each of the Eidological Principles will be equal to the physical limitations that the body bestows on one's self, meaning that one's limit differs from another. The only exception to this rule is through the Conservation of self, where the user sacrifices something of great value in exchange for more power, whether their mental psyche or sanity.
Additional Information[]
- Created multiple craters. [12]
- Outspeed Almace's perception while simultaneously creating afterimages.
- Spiked a modified volleyball nine kilometers into the air.
- Forced herself off the ground with sheer willpower despite not being able to muster up more than fifty joules of energy. Nora's willpower only compensated for a portion of her lost strength, meaning during her fight with Almace, Nora's body couldn't exert more than 50 J; instead, her telekinetic power provided the rest.
- Can swing her sword with ease; Gungnir usually weighs about 12 tons.
- Outlived Time. [13]
- Was able to snipe Zero from 600 nautical miles away, evident of Nora's excellent eyesight.
- Cleaved through a spatial plane infused with nothingness, the void.
Trivia[]
Nora Brynhildr is my entry into the Grimark Series, the acclaimed sequel to Ark: Roleplay, taking place ten years in the future from the last installment. Due to my tendency to separate Ark: Roleplay into seasons, this would be Ark's fourth season. When describing the placement of the setting it goes as followed:
- Old Ark (Season I)
- Modern Ark (Season II)
- Modern Ark II (Season III)
- New Ark (Grimark)
To keep it blunt, this is New Ark. The same old thang with new places and new cast.
Nora and Almace are the first of my Ark characters to have no custom class, passives, only retaining traits. Furthermore, Nora is my only character to lack magic.
Nora is one letter off from my online alias of Nova, one of the handles I use being short for my primary name of TruNova or, I suppose, VNova on FC/OC.
Nora's image is Es, from the BlazBlue Franchise. She is the second character to be represented by a character I primarily use in a video game, specifically my main in BlazBlue Centralfiction. Nora is second to Valorie Veiss, who is represented by Ramlethal, my main character in Guilty Gear Strive. Although Valorie isn't technically a character due to how little writing I have involving her, she technically is older than Nora by 185 days (six months and two days).
Nora was technically named by Rainora after I was requested to play a side character in Grimark after I asked for a character name.
Nora was the first character who was accidentally powercrepted. Having done multiple fights in a pocket dimension that involve timelines usually doesn't grant me a tier for a character; an example would be Koji and his three encounters with Exen, each leaving him at an unknown tier. Nora is my only character to jump from a relatively low tier to Universal+.
The concept behind Nora's ability was inspired by Mob Psycho 100 and the various ideas regarding the three mental constructs proposed by Freud: ID, Ego, and Superego.
- The ID, EGO, and SUPEREGO are three concepts in psychoanalytic theory describing distinct, interacting agents in the psychic apparatus (defined in Sigmund Freud's structural model of the psyche). The three agents are theoretical constructs that describe the activities and interactions of a person's mental life. In the ego psychology model of the mind, the ID is the set of uncoordinated instinctual desires; the SUPEREGO plays the critical and moralizing role; and the EGO is the organized, realistic agent that mediates between the instinctual urges of the id and the hypercritical SUPEREGO.
Nora is one of three protagonists that aren't demi-human, along with Sakaya Komatsu and Azalea Aculeus, leaving the ratio to be three to eight. The demi-human or plain human protagonists are as follows:
- Koji Komatsu
- Sakurahime Izayoi
- Almace Alcatraz
- Hanami Izayoi
- Emmel Vier
Nora's birthday is February 11th and was made as a character on December 12th, 2021.

CORE comprises three elements that define all facets of Nora's qualia (the internal and subjective component of sense perceptions, arising from stimulation of the senses by phenomena) and intrinsic bits of information that determine her well-being: Essence, Monad, and Parameters. All three components create an EMP, both physically and acronymically. In the context of CORE, an EMP is short for Essence Management Partition, a configurable dataset that alters Nora's abilities and influence on reality.
