I was hired to look after and protect Benjamin Smith's daughter... He said he would take care of the girl while I went shopping... I went out to buy food and when I got home, she was... Dead... I had arrived late. But now, our bodies are connected, and we are one.
~ Naamah Edwards.
Get up and go. The Father has forgiven thou. Thy faith has saved thou; go in peace.
~ Isabel Smith heals Naamah.

Naamah Edwards, also known as Raphaella Smith, is the adopted daughter of Berith Edwards, a terrifying Satanist and serial killer who has committed several murders. Her soul eventually merged with the soul of one of her father's victims, Jeanne Smith.

Backstory[]

Naamah Edwards is the adopted daughter of Berith Edwards, a terrifying Satanist and serial killer who has committed several murders. Her name is an homage to the female demon mentioned in the Zohar, Naamah. She used to babysit to earn money, and it was because of this that she was paid by Benjamin Smith to look after his youngest daughter, Jeanne Smith. However, her father, upon learning that she was taking care of children, began to find out about the location of the homes of the children she cared for in order to kill them.

When Naamah was taking care of Jeanne, Berith took her life while Naamah had gone out to buy something for the two of them to eat, and when she arrived home and saw the dead girl, she desperately hugged the girl's body trying to revive her as she cried, which resulted in the little girl's soul invading Naamah's body, and over time their souls merged, with half of her soul living in Naamah's body and the other half manifesting as a ghost. Due to the fact that her soul is connected with Jeanne's soul, she became immortal and was given a type of longevity, no longer aging, continuing her 21-year-old appearance at 39.

Berith believed that Naamah was his daughter, however she was revealed to be the daughter of Benjamin Smith, who was in a relationship with Berith's wife, Emma Edwards, long before he started dating Mary Collins. Naamah is the daughter of Benjamin, and the eldest daughter of Benjamin, being the older sister of Helena, Isaac and Jeanne.

After Jeanne was saved by Lucifer, Naamah was eventually freed from her half sister's soul. However, after separating from Jeanne, demons began to torment Naamah's soul, making her feel guilty for having deceived her younger brother Isaac and having him possessed and tortured by dozens of souls, making her just wander aimlessly and depressed through the cities, sleeping in the streets and being cold and hungry for over a year. Naamah sometimes kept praying to the heavens asking God to forgive her for everything she had done, but she didn't think she deserved forgiveness. Now she had no father, no mother, and was unaware of her adopted brother.

However, Isabel Smith, Isaac's daughter went after Naamah and found her crying near a bridge that when looking at Isabel Smith, the demons that possessed Naamah's body went into despair and tried to attack Isabel, who with a order exorcised the demons and sent them to Hell, with Isabel running up to Naamah and hugging her, telling her "get up and go, the Father has forgiven thou". Thereafter, Isabel took Naamah to Isaac and Elizabeth, and she began to live with the Smith family and traveled with them to Jerusalem, where she met her current husband Moses Abrams, with the two having children.

She even goes to the psychologist and undergoes some treatments to deal with the traumas left in her psychology by her stepfather. Naamah ended up changing her name, now being known as Raphaella Smith, being part of her true family alongside her brother, sister-in-law and niece. Raphaella was a name chosen by herself, which means "healed by God". Even after the Apocalypse and the Multiversal reset, she is still alive and living a happy life in Jerusalem, with her nephew Rafael Smith (which was named in honor of his aunt) giving her a golden life in his mansion.
