Truly, I wish I could say that this foalhood had taught me to be independent, brave, and determined like the ponies in the legends. But the truth is, it didn’t. As a born slave, you do not understand what choice is. You don't know how to think for yourself unless pushed to the absolute boundaries of physical needs, like food or water. If a slaver asked you to jump, you asked into which radioactive crater.

No free will, no courage to make my own choices, and few dreams of anything more than perhaps a painless death at the end of it all.

~ Murky

Summary

Murky Number Seven and Fallout Equestria: Murky Number Seven created by FuzzyVeeVee

Murky Number Seven (Murky for short) is the protagonist of Fallout Equestria: Murky Number Seven, Murky is a wingless Pegasus Slave residing Red-Eye's Empire, who seeks for his own personal freedom.

Being born into slavery, a weak and frail Murky was raised to believe he would always be nothing more than ambitionless equipment. Everypony he had come to known would only torture and brand this preconception into him. Murky fully believed his life was to be predestined in that he entered the world a slave, and he would die as nothing more than a sad sickly pathetic slave and all he could muster was endless crying, endless fear. In a bit to make an example of his miserable existence, Murky was forcibly assigned by his masters to participate in The Pit, a gladiatorial slave vs slave event, wherein he fight and die for little more than his masters amusement.

Murky approached the end of his life the way he lived, a sickly, crying, wreck, that in the grand scheme of things was only a mindless unimportant speck in the merciless cogs of life.

Before it was his turn to go, he took note of the small unicorn slave that stood before him in line. Despite her weak frame, her status as less than filth, the horrors of the world around, and the fate of death she was forcefully served, she remained undaunted, brave, and confident as she was marched forward into fates hand. All emotions that escaped Murky entirely.

What happened next profoundly changed Murky's outlook on life. The small and weak looking slave took a triumphant stand against the world as she devastated the arena. Murky watched in awe as this unicorn defied the slavers, defied Red-Eye, and defied fate, as she flew up into the sky, like a magnificent angel. Shaken by the unicorns bold act of defiance, Murky reconsidered his own outlook on life. Hopeful that one day, he too may muster the courage to fly towards his own freedom.

Standard Equipment: His broken Pipbuck, His Journal, Optional Equipment regularly gets confiscated by his superiors.

Optional Equipment:

  • Rarities Grace (A pistol)

Intelligence: Slightly Below Average, He is completely illiterate and cannot read, his slave upbringing completely disallowed Murky from developing basic social skills and understanding basic concepts about life, such as free will and independence. Often in conversations Murky will require more time to process what other parties are suggesting, if at all. Due also to his slaver upbringing he will often act upon instinct rather than formulate a cohesive thought process.

Weaknesses: His mother was irradiated during childbirth, which has left him with genetic deformities (such as his ears, and small stature.). His body is extremely frail and he cannot maintain his stamina for long. He is extremely cowardly, and his post traumatic stress disorder makes him easy to manipulate. He is extremely subservient to slavers or anyone intimidating. Due to tumors in his lungs, exposure to radiation for prolonged periods will incapacitate and kill him. His reliance on Littlepip as his idol is so strong that should he be convinced she's done something horrid he will immediately become depressed and less focused. He is too attached to Littlepip. Should Murky enter a state of depression his stats will drop dramatically.

They had carried me this far. We couldn't stop now. I had faced the trials of my own fears, of my death, of those stronger than I, of the life that was expected of me, but now I knew it was for the greatest of them all. To face My Master. The true symbol of everything that had held me down. Master and Slave.
~ Murky, reflecting on the true value of his friends.

Murky Number Seven (Murky for short) is the protagonist of Fallout Equestria: Murky Number Seven, Murky is a flightless Pegasus Slave within Red-Eye's Empire.

Living, Murky had come to find his reason to live. Bit by bit, through his new found friends Murky found the spark he needed to keep moving forward. Through his newfound big sis Glimmerlight, earning the hulking admiration of Brimstone Blitz, to even earning the admiration of his master and friend Protege for his newfound heroism. Through the actions of Littlepip, Murky was able to find the confidence he needed to stand against Red Eye's system.

It was one faithful day where everything changed. While having a birthday party for the first time with his newfound friends, a report came in that Littlepip had slaughtered 2 factions, a peaceful settlement named Arbu, and a Steel Ranger encampment. It was with just one radio report that every little confidence boost Murky had earned turned him right back to the obedient slave of the past. One weakly who would die a meaningless death.

But deep down however Murky resented that he had reverted back to this state, that his own psyche was telling him that this was all he was and would ever be. He had made, friends, accomplished so much, and no strived for his own freedom. He rejected his own psyche, fulling embracing the horrors of his past and horrors that await him in the waking world.

EndMurk.png
I always remembered what I'd seen long ago whenever I looked in mirrors. A fragile, skeletal little ruined pony with rags, broken wings, and a meek expression of submission. One who would cry at the vaguest threat, who would beg and plead. A pony who shrank away from challenge, who stopped when he was told. A slave. Now, I saw something different. I saw a pegasus. His height didn't matter, it was the look of purpose in his eyes. The inner strength that held him up. He was clad in clothing he'd made himself and a saddle that he'd earned and carried through countless dangers. He had goggles atop his head he'd taken (twice) from a hated foe, a PipBuck on one leg, and a saddlebag full of proper supplies. By his sides, feathered wings were spread that he had flown on. But most importantly, he stood tall. He was his own pony. He was not a slave.
