Michael Ellend

I don't really care how I've developed over the years; the details of a story may change as they years go by, but what matters is where I am now. I may not know this figure who created me, or how much the two of us relate. But I do know one thing; I'm no monster. I'm not a demon to be patronized in every way. I am my own person. I. Am. Me. And I am not gonna be held down by the past, no matter what!
~ Speech of resolve to The Warden

Are you accusing me!? ...Listen. I know you two mean well. I know full well that you do... but this is a quest I MUST partake on my own. It's for your own safety. I can't bear to see anyone hurt by Drexus's campaign, especially you, Crystal. I never asked anything too much from you all, and now I ask it of you now; leave all of this to me. I'll find a way. I always have.
~ A mild case of Light Corruption, twisting his heroic attitude

I'm only going to give you all one more chance. If you come after me again, someone is going to die by my blade.
~ Threat to the Champions of Chaos

And I tried. I tried to talk to you all rationally, but your hatred of humanity has run so deep that it may as well be genetic! Why? Why do you continue to deny us? I don't understand... and I don't think I ever will. Your lust for blood has pushed you over the edge of rationality... And yet I always believed that there was good. That there is always an ace in the hole to shake things up..... But I can't find it. It's either buried under the lies and half-truths of your leaders, or it doesn't exist at all. Whatever the case.... I cannot allow your genocidal antics to target Earth, as you wish to. As they say; the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. And with that in mind, I know exactly what I need to do...
~ Before Planet Helghan's destruction

Don't lie to me, you whore. I saw what you and Zephyr did in the Dreamscape. I saw him scratch you behind the ears. I saw him give you the clothes you remembered from the day we met. I still haven't forgotten how you used to have eyes for him, rather than me. I really DO know how much you love me, and it is nonexistent! Confound you, Zephyr! You've taken all I had left away from me! I see now that the corruption not only stems from the pests, but the leaders in charge... And now, by the power of the Light, I shall bring you to JUSTICE!!
~ Succumbing to Light Corruption entirely

How dare you assume such a thing! The Light is pure. The Light is omnipotent! And you all are impure worms to grind to dust under my heel! Feel it burn, for it will be your last feeling before you depart from this life!
~ To the Champions of Chaos, after being fully corrupted

Look man; everything I did, I always meant well! It's just-!.... I can't stop getting involved, you know? With all this stuff going on around me, I can't help but feel at least partially responsible for it. And with that, I step up and try to do something about it, even if it's outside my ability. ...Can you really fault a guy who just wants to do the right thing?
~ Trying to reason with Zephyr over his soul judgement

Well then, we just cut to the chase! I'm sick and tired of holding back! We could be taking down these Hollows quicker, cleaner and more efficient if we just crushed them, deleted them, warped them out of existence, ANYTHING except just loitering around like a bunch of DAMNED WANDERERS!
~ To the Champions of Chaos

You see those two? I didn't "transform them" into anything; I just exposed what they really are. Voices within my own mind, trying to tell me what to do. You're the only real person I know, Zephyr... and I'm growing tired of being your hero.
~ To Zephyr

Summary[]

Michael Ellend is one of the main characters in the Eden era of Deus Ex Gyrus. A self-proclaimed paladin and Captain within the United World Military, Michael is one of the Champions of Chaos, commanding the element of Light and being the chosen Purveyor of the god Arcus.

As the wielder of light, Ellend is meant to represent all good and justice within the World Tree. Fittingly, this manifests in a jovial and outwardly heroic attitude, making sure to protect others and most importantly, be the one to defeat the big bad guy to save everyone.

However, Michael's unstable mental state, savior complex, and vulnerable will has led to him taking drastic, often harmful actions in order to be the hero. These actions include suicidally taking on the likes of The Warden on his own, taking performance-enhancing drugs, and falling victim to light corruption on more than one occasion, leading to multiple occasions where his actions had to be covered up or outright stopped by his superiors and peers.

His vulnerable emotions have led to him cheating on his girlfriend, Crystal Rosarie, and lashing out as his teammates, sometimes barely managing to cling on to his rank and status due to his Light-born aura of heroism and the subsequent willingness of others to cover for him. His death at the hands of The Warden and subsequent revival has left him with an even more fractured mental state than before, and it's only a matter of time until something snaps once again...

Information[]

Name: Michael Ellend, "Michy" by Alana

Origin: Champions of Chaos

Gender: Male

Age: 14 at Series' beginning, Early 20s at Series' end

Classification: Human, Nephilim, Paladin

Themes:

Powers and Stats[]

Tier: 7-C, up to High 6-A with Light Corruption | At least High 7-C, possibly 7-A. High 6-A when Awakened | 5-B, Higher during Light Corruption. 5-A with Sol Dios. High 3-A Environmental Destruction with Ink | 4-A, Higher with Sol Dios | 4-A, 3-C with Sol Dios, Higher Through his Unrestricted Third Eye | 3-C. 2-A over time with The Virus

Powers and Abilities:

Superhuman Physical Characteristics (As a Nephilim, Michael has similar physiology to hybrids, having far superior strength, speed, durability, senses, balance, and accuracy than the best humans), Subjective Reality (All humans are capable of creating new universes and timelines through their imagination, fueling the expansion of the World Tree's fantastic branches), Accelerated Development (A natural prodigy in every field he has pursued. This will be detailed more in his Intelligence section), Weapon Mastery (A highly skilled swordsman and marksman, on par with Zephyr in this regard), Martial Arts (Though not quite as skilled as Zephyr, Michael has shown the ability to keep up with him, thanks in no small part to fighting much dirtier with techniques like crotch shots), Acrobatics (Able to weave through storms of Danmaku from the likes of Queen Larsa, and like Zephyr, can run up walls, walk on power lines, and generally move in ways a human shouldn't be able to.), Stealth Mastery (Should be highly trained in stealth like the other Black Swan operatives), Vehicular Mastery (Can pilot a Skell), Afterimage Creation (Can perform the Flash Step like Zephyr), Natural Weaponry (Capable of sprouting a single Angel Wing due to his Nephilim heritage), Elasticity (The Nephilim Wing is highly flexible, taking the form of several sheets of light that can lash around to cut foes), Magic (Is able to naturally utilize Holy magic thanks to his angelic heritage), Non-Physical Interaction (A user of magic is able to harm Wraiths, abstract embodiments of the World Tree that lack a body or soul), Aura (Is able to manifest an Aura), Holy Manipulation (Thanks to his Angel blood, can coat his attacks in holy energy with his Aura), Social Influencing (Michael has a naturally heroic aura that causes people to be at ease around him, often to the point of forgiving him for his actions or even covering for him), Precognition (Aura can be used to predict the attacks of the opponent), Extrasensory Perception (Aura can be used to sense things around the user, even while they are blindfolded), Transformation with Mythralia (It is a variable weapon that can take four different forms, including a sword, bow, axe, dual swords, spear, twin daggers, shield, and blaster), Hardlight Manipulation (Mythralia can form and fire arrows of Hardlight), Forcefield Manipulation (Mythralia can create Hardlight forcefields. His Angel Wing deflects attacks), Kinetic Energy Manipulation (Mythralia can fire concussive pulses), Explosion Manipulation (The arrows Mythralia generates are hollow. Michael can fill them with Holy energy that explodes on impact), Supernatural Willpower (Michael's Willpower, while vulnerable to corruption from within, is always unshakable by outside forces, requiring magical influence to stop his rampages while light-corrupted. Was willing to corrupt and control his own son to suit his goals, destroy an entire planet to prevent the possibility of its fight being taken to Earth, and burn himself up by spamming his ultimate move against The Warden over and over again due to having his immortality in the back of his mind, despite the immense agony it gave him), Pain Tolerance (Has shrugged off being shot, having his arm cut off, being burned by light, and even burning up his own body and Wraith form agianst The Warden), Afterimage Creation (Can create afterimages against comparable foes), Statistics Amplification (Entering Light Corruption causes his power to exponentially increase), Information Manipulation (Type 2) and Conceptual Manipulation (Type 1; Light is made of Aether, the fundamental information which makes up all concepts that form the World Tree), Empowerment (Light Users grow stronger in bright areas or during the daytime), Light Manipulation, Order Manipulation (Light manipulates not only all physical Light in the World Tree, but all Order and "Good" that comes with it, being the very manifestation of purity. All Holy Power is derived from Light), Heat Manipulation (The primary combat form of Light is creating burning spheres and rays of it), Fire Manipulation (Annihilated planet Helghast in a wave of fire when fully corrupted), Statistics Amplification (Titanflesh and Hermes Foot both allow him to amplify his statistics [Durability and Speed respectively] three times over), Absorption (Titanflesh drastically increases the rate at which he absorbs light, and allows him to absorb mana attacks outright)

His skell possesses Inorganic Physiology (Type 2; Skells are machines that link up to their owner's magic), Large Size (Type 0) (Skells are roughly 10 meters tall each), Acrobatics (The Maneuverability and Agility of Michael's Skell far outclasses that of other Skells), Precognition (The Skell's advanced calculation systems allow it to predict the future, giving Michael a head start on all actions), Flight (All Skells have built-in Flight Units)

Resistance to Holy Manipulation, Light Manipulation (His Nephilim physiology gives him a natural resistance to holy attacks), Berserk Mode (If Michael's anger and emotions peak, he is likely to enter Light Corruption inadvertently in an automatic attempt to annihilate the source of the evil he is faced with), Mind Manipulation, Telepathy, Empathic Manipulation (Can prevent Crystal from accessing his mind and altering his emotions, despite her being one of the greatest psions in the entire UWM), Illusion Manipulation (Unaffected by Zephyr's illusions), Perception Manipulation (Unaffected by Zephyr's illusions which can alter all five senses, as well as change one's perception of time), Magic (As he has an Alpha gene, Michael should possess a barrier that renders him resistant to magic), Soul Manipulation (Being a Nephilim gives him an immensely strong soul, allowing him to resist Moonfall's darkness)

Same as Before, plus Increased Social Influencing (A captain alongside Zephyr, he was able to raise a team of mages from all walks of life, and even help convince Moonfall to join them instead of the other way around to fight against Drexus), Multiple Selves (Type 1) and Statistics Amplification (Chaotica is a manifestation of his inner darkness and can amplify himself, though it increases his light corruption levels greatly), Transformation (His Nephilim Wing has reached its second and third stages) Crystal Manipulation (The second stage of his Nephilim Wing causes the wing's segments to fuse together and become crystalline in nature, allowing him to fire off feather-like shards and even grip enemies like a third arm), Body Control (The third stage is the most stereotypically angel-like, complete with feathers, and he can freely manipulate it whenever it manifests), Flight (Can fly using his Nephilim Wing), Limited Clairvoyance (Can receive visions from the Light god Arcus)

Same as before, plus Energy Projection (Can fire out beams of Light in various projections, including spheres, wide-angle rays, destructive lasers, and barrages of projectiles), Weapon Creation (Can create hardlight constructs, including swords and shields more often than not), Danmaku (Can control his Projectiles and generate them to such a degree that they've been compared by multiple characters to Touhou bullet hell patterns), Resistance Negation (The flames and heat Light creates can burn even Zephyr, who can withstand the heat of stars and Arcanium flames so hot they burn away even magic)

Resistance to Information Manipulation (Type 2), Conceptual Manipulation (Type 1), Space-Time Manipulation, Life Manipulation, Death Manipulation, Soul Manipulation, Energy Manipulation, Mind Manipulation, Dream Manipulation, Light Manipulation, Darkness Manipulation, Order Manipulation, Chaos Manipulation, Matter Manipulation, Antimatter Manipulation (Chaos Element users are naturally resistant to the other Chaos Elements), Aura, Social Influencing (Can withstand his own aura, which causes people to see him as a hero and all-but worship him as such), Poison Manipulation (Withstood attacks from the Poison Saber, a blade coated in a deadly magical poison), Death Manipulation, Fate Manipulation (The Poison Saber normally induces a Conceptual Death in the target, presenting them with an unavoidable death that creates a fixed point in time, preventing anything short of God Ink from reversing it and allowing the Saber's wielder to decide the method of death), Darkness Manipulation (Because Michael overcame and defeated his dark self, Darkness-based attacks are much less effective on him due to having an overwhelming amount of light to compensate)

Same as before, but vastly enhanced. Gains Acausality (Type 1; As a "Multi-Stellar" being, the Champions of Chaos were all unaffected by the reshaping of the World Tree, which altered the past across infinite timelines), Mind Manipulation (Light can be used to control the minds of others, much like Darkness can), Memory Manipulation (Can use the Light to wipe people's recent memories, or go even further with enough time), Purification (Can use the Light to expel dark influences or turn someone to his alignment), Mind Manipulation (Took over the minds of all of the Future Children by purifying them), Healing (Can use Light magic to heal himself and others), Vibration Manipulation and Earth Manipulation (Can create earthquakes and shatter the ground with mere stomps), Summoning (Can summon his equipment to his side at any time in a shower of light), Power Nullification (Capable of nullifying magic attacks with his light, as well as nullifying someone's ability to use magic on a touch), Duplication (Can use the Light to create duplicates of himself. Though they do not have all of the same abilities, they all share his Light Manipulation), Resistance to Sleep Manipulation (Zephyr's Sleep Magic failed to work on him)

Statistics Amplification (Sol Dios increases his power immensely, allowing him to overpower six of the other Champions of Chaos with his own strength, not taking into account Titanflesh or Hermes Foot), Invulnerability (Sol Dios has been upgraded with Mineral X, preventing it from being broken by physical force alone), Gravity Manipulation (Mineral X is made from a compressed planet and pulled from a Singularity, and is powerful enough to have its own gravitational field), Enhanced Light Manipulation (Sol Dios drastically increases his ability to manipulate Light, and Sunborne possesses similar abilities), Aura (Sunborne allows him to extend the range of his strikes with an Aura of Light), Forcefield Creation (Sol Dios can create extra forcefields beyond its normal armor), Weapon Manipulation (Sunborne fortifies its wielder's grip on its handle, making it nigh-impossible for the user to be disarmed), Energy Projection (Radiant Cataclysm unleashes a colossal wave of light from the user through its blade, which was capable of cutting a Moon the size of earth's in half), Portal Creation, Dimensional Travel, and Time Travel (Sol Dios allows him to travel to other branches of the World Tree, as well as into past eras, although he cannot change the past due to the World Tree operating on many worlds theory)

Same as before, plus Plot Manipulation and Reality Warping (Gained the ability to use God Ink, a substance found in sensories of Threshold beings or Gods that allow them to rewrite reality around them as if it were text on a page, due to absorbing Drexus' Soul Fragments. These alterations take the form of flurries of glowing paper, or splashes of jet-black ink that melt holes in reality like acid. Abilities Michael has used with this, or has seen others use, can be found here), Fate Manipulation (God Ink users can write in the Book of Fate, allowing them to change the fates of themselves and others. Fate and Plot are considered two halves of the same coin, with the former acting as the future and the latter acting as the past, the two meeting in the middle to form the present), Soul Manipulation, Fission (Scaling to Zephyr, who forcibly expunged a hollow from Alternate Michael's body), Causality Manipulation, Teleportation (Through "What if?", God Ink users can retroactively change the positions of people and objects, even acausal beings like Zephyr himself, to cause them to attack each other and themselves. A Light-Corrupted Michael used this liberally), Dream Manipulation and Existence Erasure (Erased the entire Dreamscape from existence with a mere drop of Ink, and used this power to erase Shudde M'ell from his body. His alternate self erased a large number of rebels from existence with a surge of golden ink), Resurrection (Scaling to his Alternate self, who was stated to be able to rewrite the deaths of others), Armor Creation and Invulnerability (His alternate self created "Plot Armor" that allowed him to become invulnerable to all attacks), Extrasensory Perception (His Alternate Self could detect Evan's time reversal)

Same as before, plus passive Fate Manipulation and Immortality (Type 8; His name was written as "Defier of Fate" in the Book of Fate, preventing him from dying and allowing him to regenerate from his Wraith form. Even when an Enraged Warden was bludgeoning his soul repeatedly, it did not give due to this power), Wraith Physiology (After being infected by The Void, he gained a hybrid-Wraith form). Resistance to Perception Manipulation, Madness Manipulation (Type 2), Biological Manipulation (Unaffected by Zephyr's Aura), Void Manipulation (Gained another layer of resistance to Void exposure by unlocking the Great Eye, as Drexus stated he was now entirely immune to all of the effects of it), Mind Manipulation (Overpowered the Great Eye's control over his body), Resurrection (If Michael's Third Eye survives, it can use michael's memories stored within it to resurrect Michael, though this process was going to take several days, and is not combat-applicable)

Void Manipulation (Learned how to manipulate the Great Eye, one of the primordial forces of the Void), Order Manipulation (The Great Eye is meant to bring Order to the Void), Explosion Manipulation (Can cause the heads of an entire group of enemies to explode, though it takes a few seconds of charge-up and concentration, leaving him vulnerable), Immortality and Regeneration Negation (Types 1, 3, 6, and 8; Up to Mid-Godly. The Three Great Powers are responsible for forming Wraiths, and are able to kill them and prevent their regeneration), Absorption (Scales to the Warden, who can absorb energy into the eye), BFR (Things absorbed by the third eye are sent to the Great Eye, a prison within the Void that even Infinity users cannot escape from, and that Zephyr could not access), Mind Manipulation (The Great Eye is capable of controlling minds and manipulating psychic energy), Madness Manipulation (The Great Eye can drive people mad), Energy Manipulation and Weapon Creation (Can manipulate the energy of the Great Eye. The Great Eye can be used to create weapons and armor), Power Bestowal (Enhanced Ragnarok's power with his Third Eye), Light Manipulation and Order Manipulation (The Great Eye is said to be the Light that brings Order to the void), Precognition and Clairvoyance (The Third Eye can sense budding mental energy. Michael likened it to "predicting thoughts" and compared it to Evan's prediction of actions), Energy Projection (Can send out waves of psychic energy with the Great Eye), Matter Manipulation (Reconstructed a destroyed palace), Dream Manipulation (Manipulated the dream avatar of Zephyr), Pocket Reality Manipulation and Reality Warping with Reality Bubbles (Reality Bubbles form a parallel world using the Dreamscape's energy, allowing Michael to manipulate it as if it were a Dream), Sealing (The Third Eye can seal Reality Bubbles, preventing all from escaping or infiltrating them by locking their perimeters), Abstract Existence (Type 1; Michael's Third Eye consciousness was able to continue fighting after his death, and exists as a pure mental energy), Size Manipulation (The Third Eye formed a giant avatar to fight Adam), Statistics Amplification (Alignment Install multiplies Michael's psychic presence by 30 times), Biological Manipulation (Cut off Michael's ability to speak), Body Puppetry (Controlled Michael's body, and attempted to do the same to Crystal, though it was repelled by her psychic defenses), Pain Manipulation (Caused Crystal to experience incredible pain in her body)

Same as before, plus Cosmic Awareness (Became aware of The Throne's existence due to his revival, and possesses his memories of the place. His memories were stated to be far more expansive than the other champions), Statistics Amplification and Empathic Manipulation with Mokk's booster (Stated by Mokk to make him faster, stronger, more loaded with stamina, and more confident), Immortality (Type 9; His true self is a Virus within The Dreamscape, that was rapidly spreading), Incorporeality (His Subconscious became his true form), Reality Warping (Punched a hole in the Dreamscape, causing it to start mixing with The Abyss), Corruption, Absorption, Petrification (As The Virus, he took over the entire Dreamscape, and was rapidly spreading throughout the timestream, taking over and absorbing everything in his path. Even slight contact can start causing this corruption, as shown in Evan and Crystal), Danmaku (Released enough tendrils to counter thousands of weapons fired by Zephyr at once), Large Size (Type 8, eventually Type 9; His Subconscious had taken over the entire Dreamscape, and was rapidly spreading throughout the timestream), Size Manipulation (Constantly growing in size), Duplication (Created clones of himself and the other Champions of Chaos and their allies/enemies, save for Reyna, Zephyr, and Ashe), Resistance to Corruption, Absorption, Petrification (As The Virus' host, he is able to fight even while corrupted by the Virus' effects)

Attack Potency: Town Level (Can trade blows with those who can harm him in an uncorrupted state), up to Multi-Continent Level with Light Corruption (Light Corruption slowly builds up over time. At its Zenith, annihilated the planet Helghast by destroying its surface) | At least Large Town Level (Alongside Crystal, generated enough light to protect them from an explosion that took out a mile of land), possibly Mountain Level (The egg generated by Michael and Crystal could not be broken by the combined efforts of the UWM, despite having weaponry superior to Nuclear Weapons). Multi-Continent Level when Awakened (Gained full control over his inner Light, able to defeat Moonfall alongside Crystal and cut the Moon in half with Radiant Cataclysm) | Planet Level (Comparable to Excelion, who compressed a Planet into a Black Hole, and the soul fragments of Drexus, who could amplify a nuclear warhead to planet-busting power), Higher with Light Corruption (Able to easily overwhelm the Champions of Chaos on his own), Large Planet Level with Sol Dios (It multiplies his power by 200x. Was generating Black Holes as a side effect of his fight with Moonfall). High Universe Level Environmental Destruction with Ink (A single drop destroyed the Dreamscape, the plane where all dreams from across the infinite World Tree gather) | Multi-Solar System Level (Comparable to Evan, who created a Starry Sky), Higher with Sol Dios (Multiplies his power by 200x) | Multi-Solar System Level (At his peak, matched Post-Ink Warden, repeatedly battering him into the ground with Radiant Cataclysm, although it was burning out his physical body to do so). Galaxy Level with Sol Dios (Multiplies his power by 200x), Higher with his Unrestricted Third Eye (The Great Eye could form an avatar of Michael to use after Michael died, able to fight Adam in an one-on-one match) | Galaxy Level (One-shot Excelion and stomped Moonfall, piercing his armor of the nightshade without forming Sol Dios. Battled the combined forces of Zephyr, Reyna, and Ashe at once), Multiverse Level+ over time with The Virus (He was corrupting and subsuming the entire timestream, and would eventually destroy the entirety of the World Tree)

Speed: Massively Hypersonic+ (Capable of dodging Aaron's Lightning Magic), Higher with Hermes' Foot (Multiplies his speed by three) | Relativistic+ (Gained full control over his Light Magic, and scales to those who can dodge it), FTL with Hermes' Foot (Greater than before. Stated to let him move at three times the speed of light) | Speed of Light (Can move in tandem with his own Light magic), At least FTL with Hermes' Foot (Blitzed the Champions of Chaos, including Evan, who can amplify his speed six times scaling off of Zephyr) | FTL (Dodged at Beyond Lightspeed within the Dreamscape. Comparable to Falkree, who could move at twice the speed of light), FTL+ with Hermes' Foot | FTL (Comparable to his previous key), FTL+ with Hermes' Foot | FTL, FTL+ with Hermes' Foot. Immeasurable with The Virus (Physically traversed the entire Timestream within a matter of seconds)

Lifting Strength: Unknown | Unknown | Class Z (Stronger than Zephyr, who can lift Mineral X born from a planet the size of Earth) | Class Z | Class Z | Infinite (Can sustain his own body)

Durability: Town Level (Unaffected by the recoil of using Hermes' Foot to strike people at thousands of times the speed of sound, which given his weight generates a Kinetic Energy comparable to 6.6 Kilotons of TNT) | At least Large Town Level, possibly Mountain Level (The Light he created withstood a mile-wide explosion, and the efforts of the UWM to break it). Multi-Continent Level when Awakened (Can take hits from Moonfall) | Planet Level, Higher with Light Corruption (Withstood a sustained barrage of attacks from Aaron and Excelion, and was more annoyed than hurt). Large Planet Level with Sol Dios (It is infused with Mineral X, which is formed from a planet-mass Singularity, and multiplies his power by 200). | Multi-Solar System Level, Higher with Sol Dios (Multiplies his durability by 200x. Could withstand a barrage of attacks from the Fatebuster) | Multi-Solar System Level (Withstood his own Radiant Cataclysm in rapid succession, as well as being bashed by Post-Ink Warden). Galaxy Level with Sol Dios (Multiplies his durability by 200x). Fate Manipulation makes him hard to kill | Galaxy Level (Was thrown by Zephyr into a galactic core hard enough to annihilate the entire galaxy, and was fine)

Stamina: Immense (Possesses incredible reserves of Energy within him, enough to level an entire planet when released all at once even as a child. Like Zephyr, he can fight in space battles that last for days on end, and he has powered through incredible pain and wounds to continue fighting on.) Infinite reserves of his Chaos Element in the Seven Sins arc onward (Like Zephyr and the other Chaos Element users, Michael possesses access to all the Light in the World Tree, giving him an endless amount to work with)

Range: Hundreds of Meters, likely Kilometers with Mythralia (In Black Swan, Michael always preferred ranged fighting to Zephyr's close-range fighting). Planetary with Light Manipulation (Cut a moon in half from the planet's surface, Annihilated the planet Helghast by wiping its surface clean, and is comparable to Excelion, who can compress a planet). Multiversal+ with Dimensional Travel and The Virus (After gaining Drexus' Pen, he gained the ability to travel to any branch of the World Tree to hunt down his Soul Fragments, travel through time to hunt Sloth, and even travel to the void, scaling off of inferior Ink users)

Standard Equipment: Mythralia | Same as Before | Same as Before, plus Sol Dios, a Pen, and Sunborne. Optionally Olympus Prime | Same as before | Same as before | Same as before, plus Mokk's drug

  • Mythralia: A weapon originally intended for Gaia's purveyor, Crystal Rosario, that ended up being used and preferred by Michael instead. This variable weapon is not a sacred relic, but it is an incredibly durable item with various energy-based powers. The weapon can shapeshift between multiple forms, including a Bow, Sword, Twin Blades, Axe, Spear, Twin Daggers, and Blaster, and is capable of firing various types of projectiles and ammunition.
    • Concussive Shots: Blasts of pure kinetic energy, forming pulses that cause blunt trauma and ragdolling on impact.
    • Holy Shots: Blasts of holy energy, that are extra-effective against demons. Michael can fill his arrows and bullets with these.
    • Hardlight Shots: Hardlight arrows and bullets that act as physical projectiles, but are extra-effective against demons.
    • Explosive Shots: Projectiles that explode on impact.
  • Sol Dios: A set of armor forged by Arcus, which acts as a protective shield for Michael. This retracting armor can be summoned onto his body at any time, and amplifies his power immensely. As shown when Zephyr battled Michael's Alternate Self, which wielded his own Sol Dios, It was able to match Zephyr's Fatebuster, which multiplies his power by 200 times. The armor greatly amplifies his natural control over Light, particularly with mental alterations, and it also allows him to generate portals of light. These portals can take Michael across the entire World Tree and even into the Past, allowing him to hunt down Sloth, who had hidden himself in Pompeii shortly before the Mt. Vesuvius eruption.
  • Sunborne: The sacred relic of Light. Also known as Dawnbreaker, this weapon was once incomplete, before Michael implanted an artifact known as the Soul of Silver into it. The weapon is capable of slaying Undead and possesses holy, fire, and light properties within every hit it makes. It also greatly increases the wielder's offensive light abilities, allowing him to project ranged shockwaves of light with every slash to blind and sear opponents, to say nothing of how it cuts. When in its complete form, the blade possesses an enchantment that fortifies its wielder's grip on the blade, making it essentially impossible to knock it out of his hand.
  • Pen: A pen manifested after absorbing the first fragment of Drexus. This pen acts as a conduit for his Ink Manipulation, although it is not necessary for its manipulation.
  • Mokk's Booster: A booster drug that, when injected, greatly increases his strength, speed, and stamina. It also seems to amplify his psychic abilities, providing a great confidence boost on top of that. However, dependency on it makes the user erratic, and will eventually build up into causing a heart attack. In his post-revival key, Michael is hooked on this substance.

Intelligence: Genius. Michael is a prodigy, and one that has generally exceeded Zephyr at every turn (Much to the Kitsune's chagrin). In Black Swan, despite joining the organization later than Zephyr, he rose through the ranks even faster, ending up becoming a military commander at 16 years old. His marksmanship is far superior to Zephyr's, able to hit moving targets at similar speeds than him from over a hundred meters away. In Black Sawn, he was constantly showing up Zephyr in missions, admonishing him for inferior tactics and "going in guns-blazing". He was the only one of the eight Champions to be able to use his element without requiring the initial artifact to unlock it, and proved to be far more powerful than the rest. In close range, he has repeatedly traded blows with the likes of Zephyr, Moonfall, and The Warden, who are master swordsmen, some of whom have billions of years of experience constantly fighting and waging war against others of their kind. On his own, while Light-Corrupted, had stomped the other champions, including Zephyr himself. Compared to Zephyr, Michael has focused on mastering two weapons instead of dabbling in hundreds, giving him greater focus with his singular weapon, be it Sunborne or Mythralia. However, particularly in the Void Games arc and beyond, Michael suffers greatly from a shaky mental state, a need to be admired as the hero, and a willingness to undergo substance abuse in order to get ahead. This has caused his tactics to suffer, something pointed out by Moonfall as him becoming more impulsive and erratic, though through sheer power and speed he has generally been able to get by nonetheless. He does still have impressive quick-thinking skills that allow him to outwit the likes of Moonfall in the short term, using afterimages to trick his opponents, but has fallen to more long-term strategies that last across an entire battle. A skilled manipulator (albeit thanks in part to his aura) who was able to convince several of his peers and superior officers to take the fall for him several times, as well as worm his way out of facing severe punishment one way or another. Lower under Mokk's drug. His intelligence has vastly decreased thanks in no small part to his growing insanity, and his techniques have become more erratic. Extremely mentally unstable.

Standard Tactics:

Michael is an aggressive and fast fighter who goes right for the blitz as an opening move more often than not, blasting foes with Hermes' Foot and beams of Light fired from Sunborne or even his hands. If this fails to work, he'll generally move away to attack from a range, using hardlight spears and Mythralia to wear his opponent down, while using Afterimages and bursts of Light to trick his opponent into diverting their gaze away from his true self, as shown with Moonfall. He likes to blind his foes both literally and figuratively, causing them to open weak points in their guard for him to exploit. During all of this, Michael will use his Great Eye to predict the thoughts of his foes, slip around attacks, and constantly attack their mind to weaken them. More than anything above, however, Michael tends to adapt to his opponent, changing strategies to fit them on the fly, as is his specialty. The angrier he gets, the more destructive and wide his attacks become, razing entire planets and cutting moons if pushed enough, as well as adding Ink to his attacks. If pushed too much, Michael will trap his opponents in a Reality Bubble with the Great Eye.

When Corrupted, Michael's tactics change, becoming more ruthless. He becomes far more willing to use his pen, spamming "What if?" freely, chasing his foes across dimensions, and willingly razing planets just to prove a point. He is far more likely to corrupt and amplify Bystanders to become his soldiers as shown with the Future Children, as well as create hardlight soldiers and weapons to overwhelm foes with great amounts of force and use the Gates of Babylon to rain soul-crushing attacks down onto his foes. Of course, with his increased power and god complex, he also becomes more content to simply annihilate foes from afar with light instead of wasting time fighting in hand-to-hand, doing so only against powerful foes like Drexus or Moonfall.

In this form, Michael is exceptionally unstable, but he becomes far more powerful as a result. He sends waves of branches and wires towards the enemy, crossing immense distances and area of effect in order to corrupt and absorb them as fast as possible, or outright tear them apart with the branches. He will freely create duplicates and clones of himself to overwhelm even individual opponents with unstoppable force, as well as to meet summoning and rival duplication abilities.

Weaknesses: Arrogant, having an unshakable belief in his ability to be the hero and win everything. As shown when that belief is meaningfully challenged, he is also greatly unstable, relying entirely on his own pride and lashing out to devastating effect when that is broken, even allowing The Virus to take him as a host. Light can be countered and cancelled out by Darkness, generating black holes, and becoming Light-corrupt makes him more tyrannical and arrogant. Mokk's drug drastically decreases his stability and will eventually send him into Cardiac Arrest.

Note: Michael's Unrestricted Third Eye can only be accessed should Michael completely give up control of his body to the eye, which he has adamantly refused to do, or upon his death. While the Third Eye was able to fight Adam, it was being empowered by being within the Great Eye at the time, and thus does not scale to Multi-Galaxy Level.

Notable Attacks and Techniques:

  • Nephilim Physiology: Michael is a Nephilim, a child of a human father and an angelic mother. In the world tree, Angels are residents of Valhalla, a place where the "good" souls of the World Tree are looked after. Having both human and angel blood, Michael is incredibly powerful, and highly resistant to holy and light-based effects. It also fulfills a similar effect to an Alpha Gene, allowing Michael to use the magic that his angelic mother possessed.
    • Wing: The main ability of a Nephilim is to sprout a single Angel wing from their back, one which can be used for various different applications. An Angel Wing is a manifestation of one's holy power, and takes several different forms across its stages of development, which the user can switch between at will.
      • Stage 1: The initial stage of a manifested angel wing. This stage takes the form of several sheets of light, resembling the wings of angels from the series Diablo. These sheets can flex and extend freely, acting as blades to cut through and grip foes, though they cannot yet be used to fly. They can, however, bat away attacks.
      • Stage 2: The second stage of a manifested angel wing. In this stage, the sheets of light fuse together and harden, transforming into a crystalline structure resembling an Ukaku Kagune. This wing is much tougher and sharper than the first stage, though not as flexible, and Michael can fire out the crystals as razor-sharp projectiles of hardened Magic.
      • Stage 3: The final stage of a manifested angel wing. This is when a nephilim acquires the ability to fly, as the wing becomes more compressed and transforms into the feathery wing seen in rennaisance paintings. In this stage, a Nephilim's speed is absolute, though they lose out on the defense of Stage 2 and the offense of Stage 1.

  • Titanflesh: A spell that shrouds Michael in holy energy, increasing the rate at which he absorbs Light, and allowing him to outright absorb magic-based attacks that come his way, even those as powerful as Evan's. Only sufficiently dense and solid spells can pierce through this due to the speed at which it breaks down and absorbs magic.
  • Hermes' Foot: A spell that drastically amplifies Michael's speed. During the Black Swan arc, this was usable as a method to triplicate his speed, but as of the Seven Sins arc, it has shown the ability to multiply his speed to multiple times faster than light, being comparable to Zephyr's Hex accel.
  • Radiant Cataclysm: Michael's ultimate spell. This utterly destructive blast triggers the light within him and releases it in a devastating, omnidirectional blast of light that is capable of razing entire planets, scorching their surface and vaporizing everything around him until nothing is left. As time went on and Michael acquired Sunborne, he learned how to focus this spell to an even greater degree, turning it into a directed wave through his blade that was capable of splitting moons and annihilating entire countries in one fell swoop. He can spam this technique, but to do so is to overload his body, burning it down to his exposed soul and wraith form.

Aether Light

One of the Eight Chaos Elements, the term used by the gods of Eden for the eight colors of Aether that they hold dominion over. The Chaos Elements are each composed of the fundamental information that shapes all concepts, being the stuff from which reality springs forth. Michael, in particular, holds dominion over Yellow Aether, or "Light". Sometimes called "Radiance" or "Bright", and taking on hues ranging from white to yellow to gold, Light is the element that holds domain over cosmic order. It controls not only the actual, physical light within the World Tree, but the "Good" of it as well. Through this, Michael is capable of manipulating light, memories, and other various orderly processes at his beck and call, and his mastery over it renders him one of the most powerful Champions of Chaos, threatened only by Moonfall and Zephyr. Light is wielder by Arcus, chief among the gods, as well as his predecessor, the precursor Adam, and Michael's usage of it has threatened entire planets on more than one occasion. However, continual usage of Light leads to a process known as Light Corruption, causing the wielder to become more orderly, strict, and authoritarian. Over time, if not flushed out, this can lead to a hero becoming a genocidal maniac, something Michael has fallen prey to several times before.

  • Light Manipulation: The most basic combat aspect of Light is to manipulate... well, light. Light wielders can control the natural light of the universe to their whim. At its most basic, this manifests as lasers, wide-angle rays, and pulses of Light that blind and sear foes. He can emit bright flashes to blind those near him before attacking while they're blinded, cast skull-melting beams, release showers of laser barrages in a manner compared to Touhou-level bullet hells, create wide rays of light that scorch everything in their paths, and unleash large omnidirectional bursts.
  • Heat Manipulation: The light emitted by Light users is extremely hot, able to combust objects, compare to stars, and burn through just about anything it touches. Zephyr can resist his own flames, and even the star-level heat of an Arcanium Forge, which disrupts Magic itself through its temperature, but Michael can still easily sear Zephyr with his fire. Among his most infamous feats was performed as a young teenager in Black Swan, where he annihilated the surface of the planet Helghast in a wave of fire that spanned the entire planet.
  • Power Nullification: Light is able to shut down other magic sources. Through his beams, Michael can literally shoot magic attacks out of the sky, annihilating them altogether, and by touching a person, Michael can forcibly shut off their ability to use magic. He was able to shut down Victoria Benson's usage of her Aura and Soul attacks through this, completely cancelling out her magic.
  • Hardlight Manipulation: Another aspect of Light Manipulation is the ability to solidify Light into physical constructs. Michael has formed a variety of constructs in this way, including chariots, spears, swords, barriers, projectiles like bullets and arrows, raiments, and even entire buildings. He can form these with a thought, seamlessly blending them into his fighting style, and is able to create hundreds, if not thousands of weapons to rain them down upon enemies.
  • Duplication: Michael can create duplicates of himself out of Light, which are glowing constructs in his own image. Though they do not have all of his abilities, all of them can use Light to a similar degree that he can.
  • Absorption: Like all Light users, Michael is able to absorb Light, Heat, and Holy Power into his weaponry. Furthermore, he has shown the ability to absorb even dark souls, sucking up the soul fragments of Drexus after leaving them exposed with his Light. Michael gains some of the abilities of those whose souls he absorbs in this way, having picked up on Drexus' Ink manipulation through this. This is the reasoning for Light users being more powerful during the day, or under the light of the sun.
  • Purification: The ability to expunge the darkness and purge a body of harmful influences. Michael can use this, on the positive side, to heal wounds, cure disease, and regenerate himself. He can also use this to alter the internal balance of a person's body, purging the darkness from them to increase the amount of "Good" in their body. This causes them to become more law-aligned like himself, giving them more inhibitions on personal pleasures while making them into servants of the Light. When he completely purifies someone, he can manipulate the light inside their bodies, turning them into loyal servants, as shown when he did just that to the Future Children.
  • Memory Manipulation: Michael is able to use his Light manipulation to erase memories, doing so forcibly from opponents. He has also shown that he is willing to do this to his own allies should it please him, having even wiped the memories of Crystal mid-argument to make her forget why she was mad at him.

Aether Ink

The colloquial term for Black Aether, and sometimes known as "Plot". Ink is a rarely-seen element of Aether, one utilized only by a select few and above the bounds of the gods, having no patron deity and no purveyor to control it. Ink manipulates the past and future, controlling the narrative of reality to influence it in whatever way the user wishes. Through altering the past, "Plot", and the future, "Fate", the user can alter any event they want, making themselves utterly invincible. Michael gained this through Drexus, having absorbed his soul fragments during his worst case of Light Corruption, and has a more powerful usage of it than Zephyr.

  • "What If?": Michael's main trick with Ink Manipulation is to use "What If?". This completely freezes fate, causing all events to stop around them by simply preventing them from occurring. During this time, the user is free to act as they please, changing their surroundings via brainstorming, causing opponents to attack each other or themselves with their own attacks.
  • Existence Erasure: Another one of Michael's main Ink abilities. Michael was going to erase Shudde M'Ell, one of the three void gods, from existence, annihilating it from the narrative entirely, and he later did so by drawing it into his own body and slashing himself. An alternate version of himself from another timeline was able to annihilate entire squadrons of opponents by dousing them in ink, and while under the effects of Light Corruption, Michael erased every Dream in the Dreamscape from existence.

Aether Eye

When Michael, Moonfall, and Zephyr were exposed to the harmful energies of the void, the three of them acquired fragments of the three great powers. Michael received the power of the Great Eye, the light that brings order to the Void, which manifested as a third eye on his forehead. This eye possesses a will of its own, and at first, attempted numerous times to take over Michael's body, messing with his powers and possessing his sleeping form in order to acquire a body of its own. Over time, however, Michael and the Eye were able to come to an agreement, sharing their power to fight together (This was accomplished by Michael and Crystal forcibly subduing the Eye to force it under Michael's control). As one of the three great powers of the Void, the eye gives Michael access to a far greater variety of powers.

  • Psychic Power: The Great Eye is the "Ultimate Controller" of the void, and can manifest great psychic power. This includes controlling the minds of others with a few words, attacking someone's mind with rays of psychic energy, and manipulating the Dreamscape. It is comparable in potency to Crystal and Evan, the latter of whom has more psychic power than the combined forces of the rest of his universe, excepting Crystal herself. This power can also be used to enhance the physical attacks of weapons like Ragnarok, drive its opponents mad, and create barriers of psychic energy.
    • Brain Bust: After a few seconds of concentration, Michael can release a wave of red energy from his third eye that causes the heads of everyone around it to explode by overloading their brains with mental energy. He erased an entire legion of Goblins using this technique, though champions like Zephyr are able to resist it.
  • Matter Manipulation: As the "Ultimate Controller", Michael can use his third eye to reconstruct entire castles within a matter of seconds, something that doesn't seem to faze him in the slightest.
  • Telepathy/Precognition: A combination of these two abilities. The third eye is able to predict a person's thoughts before they even occur, allowing him to discern Moonfall's past just before he told the group about it. He likened it to a combination of Evan's abilities to predict actions and read minds.
  • Biological Manipulation: The Third Eye cut off Michael's ability to speak, and was able to forcibly control his body. It can also emit severe pain in the bodies of others, and is implied to be able to control other people's bodies and minds to make them into its slaves, stating that it would do so to Crystal and the other champions.
  • Alignment Install: The Third Eye forms crimson armor over Michael, constructed from Void energies. This armor causes Michael's psychic presence to increase by 30 times, drastically increasing the abilities he can perform with this eye.
  • Reality Bubble: Michael can briefly make a small segment of it physical, projecting it as a sphere onto the real world that he can manipulate freely without affecting the outside world. This ability has been likened to the mirror dimension from Doctor Strange, with similar effects and functions. Additionally, the Third Eye can seal a Reality Bubble off, preventing entry or exit from outside forces.

  • The Virus: A mysterious force theorized by Zephyr to be the god of Black Aether, a forgotten entity that the other gods were not aware of. The Virus states itself to be the cause of all corruption and evil within all universes, being the one that continues to drive the World Tree forward by creating threats and villains for the heroes to conquer. Despite its unknown origins, The Virus is incredibly powerful, with cosmic beings like Drexus and The Warden being mere pawns in its game.
    • Summoning: The Virus is able to bring to life any being not possessing large amounts of Star Aether as mere puppets, doing so with all of the Champions of Chaos and their allies, save for Zephyr, Reyna, and Ashe.
    • Duplication: The Virus was able to create enough duplicates of itself to battle the infinite armies that Zephyr had summoned, splitting itself off endlessly in a method similar to mitosis, but on a much grander scale.
    • Corruption: The main facet of The Virus' abilities. The Virus is able to spread itself across the terrain, forming growths, red wires, and silver branches that corrupt, calcify, and consume whatever they touch. These wires are filled with Ink, further increasing its corruptive spread and allowing it to erase things in the blink of an eye. After taking root, the Virus was able to start corrupting time and space itself; Evan noted that Michael had created temporal distortions with his initial punch, and shortly after this, The Virus had begun spreading across the entire time stream. Zephyr noted, however, that it had only been able to scratch the surface of the world tree, leaving fantastic branches untouched and allowing him to summon an army of defenders.
    • Star Branches: The Virus has shown the ability to create branches of Star Aether. However, Zephyr noted that it was "Stolen", and that the Virus itself cannot manipulate the material.
