I'd recommend having a blog put up for it somewhere on the main site, here, preferably, such that anyone can access it readily. I'd also take note of
"To be on this list, your character must have detailed explanations on most of their abilities and why the character can use it (also it's recommended that the character is of good quality anyways so that their chances of entering this list increases), so that we can prevent anyone from simply creating a character just to get on here."
That is, I'd explain how Ruby's powers work here on the main site rather than outsource the explanations to another Wiki.
Ah I see, I used to have the techniques and some of her abilities on the page too, but thought it got way too long, so I linked it to the VericulumVenatrix Wikia instead. Now that I know of the existence of Blogs and all, I can just link it to the main page/Ruby's page and all later then.
Thank you again for the help, last time I used the wikia was somewhere early to mid 2018 and a few things changed since then, so your help is much appreciated.
It's not a problem. If that much still doesn't do it, mind, note that Scroll Boxes, Tabbers, etc. can also cut down on the amount of space that it occupies on the page (though it also occasionally results in janky interactions when viewing it on mobile.)
...on second thought, I'm holding off on some of the changes to the page/the verse as a whole, since I may be planning something of a larger-scale soft reboot here in a few months. So, I suppose there's nothing much to wait for.
When you have time could you check out Meyers about grammar erros and else. I was thinking put him to featured characters, maybe not 4.5, but next thread. I know there is errors. I would appreciate it.
If you are sometime very bored you can fix others my Tales of nephilm verse pages. I not asking you fix them instantly, but if you have spare time. My own english skill ae good at listening and speaking, but at writing they are lacking.
She is supposed to represent the very idea of fighting itself. Like an embodiment or incarnation of combat. Like if someone represented a concept. She is fighting ability. In the story she doesn’t take major roles because it’s not in her place. That is why she can be that good. Her only goal is to teach. Even master level fighters in the verse. She isn’t the best fighter in the world, but in that entire multiverse.
Her will became a power. In fiction or irl will can overcome lots of stuff. She is supposed to be a warriors will. Goddess of fighting. So obviously hax doesn’t work well. Because her extreme will prevents it. Unless you a 5-D being or something. Her speed is adaptive. So blitzing also would be difficult.
How do I think she can lose? She still has a durability. So destroying a solar system or something would work. Or destroying a universe. However if I’m being honest, I don’t think she can lose outside of that. Obviously higher dimensionals can win.
Okay, you say all of this from a "meta" level, which is fine. She has an ability that allows her to defend against abnormal attacks via Willpower- sure, granted. That said...
What actually happens within the story she's from? How is this nature of hers, as an incarnation of combat, actually manifested within the story proper? What can she do, what has she done? That's more what we're asking, I think.
She starts off as a legend. Like a legendary warrior that has successfully defeated any demon or angel that sought to cause her city harm. Named Athena because of the goddess of war. Ok so she is a sorta neutral character when she does show up. Doesn’t really outright destroy Catarina. More so she serves as a mentor. She doesn’t think anyone can match her skill so she chooses to help others. If something is completely out of the leagues of everyone else is when she has to step up. Like how no one can beat a mere clone of herself regardless of how skilled they were. Even a mere clone of her can destroy multiple master level fighters. And she can take on 3 and not be touched.
You can say she represents the pinnacle of what every fighter hopes to achieve. The part about defending her city, this only applies to when she was human. As a goddess her mind is more enlightened and she tries to take a neutral perspective but that doesn’t work out always. She seeks enjoyment in training others so that they can deal with threats themselves.
What can she do. She can use her will to make a force field. Her will denies any type of manipulation ON HER. You can’t represent indomitable will and be “manipulated.” So telekinesis, reality warping, matter manipulation flat out does not work. Fear manipulation is useless as well. Anything considered manipulation of her will not work. She can attack non physicals and destroy souls, use her will as actual energy blasts too. She has vision which means she can see openings and weak points easily. So projectile spam not effective
She has godlike reactions so she can react to people with greater showings of speed. Combine this with her skill, being faster isn’t really enough. Telekinesis is manipulating her body. Mind manipulation is manipulating her mind. Matter and reality warping is considered manipulating her as well. See? Manipulating HER does not work because of indomitable will. Much more fair than saying my will makes me unable to lose which I didn’t go that route
Manipulation is considered having control over her. Telekinesis is literally doing so. So anything regarding that is useless. Reality warping is fine as long as you aren’t trying to turn her into a frog or something. Altering space around them is fine. As long as it’s not directly her. Power nul is technically manipulation. In short most battles will result in a fight. Which she is bound to win in.
It’s the case when she became a goddess. She supposed to be a perfect warrior. Ever had a good fighter he defeated by hax gg. Well she doesn’t have that weakness. That’s the point of will. She represents will and fighting ability. Think of every good fighter without those weaknesses that make them fodder against certain powers. Well except this one has a lot more skill too.
...you are aware of No Limits Fallacy, correct? If making the assumption that "nothing that anyone else's characters can do will ever affect my character, because I say so" doesn't have any grounding in the narrative of your own story, then it becomes something that I, as the prospective reader of such a story, can't suspend disbelief for. It's ceased to remain about the characters, and has become about you, you see.
What I'm looking for is instances within Trinity Kingdom where someone had tried to do such and such to Athena, and failed to pierce this Divine Willpower defense ability of hers. I already checked your Verse page, and it didn't offer much in the way of clarification...
I don’t the point of all that text. Idk what to tell ya. I just made a character with based on warrior’s will. Making her null most hax against he so she ain’t easily beaten. There are lots of characters that null hax or are resistanct to it. She in particular is resistance to any control. I don’t get it
If characters just "did" things because their author decided they could, Vs Debates would just boil down to a shouting fest of "But the point of my character means they wouldn't lose here!", "But the point of my character is that they shouldn't lose here!" This runs counter to one of the main points of chronicling Feats to begin with: that is, to determine who would actually win via an impartial and at least reasonably objective level. Plenty of characters and Verses that utilize Willpower as a narratively important power within the story prove its narrative weight by having it actually be tested by something that tries to break it.
(For clarification, I don't expect you to write a ten-page essay on everything that happens in your Verse. I just need to understand what grounds you believe you have for imposing the rules of your own verse: namely, "Athena is immune to all powers not from 5-dimensional or higher characters": onto other people's, which is what Feats ultimately consist of.)
It's about Gods, Angels, Demons, and Humans. There are 5 Goddess called Great ones. Catarina, Arkia, Artemis, Illia, and Azura. Azura created angels, Arkia created humans, Artemis animals, Illia plants, and Catarina contributed nothing. Humans were created with a limitation unlike angels and demons. Arkia felt it would be safer for the world as a whole. So humans have to work her in order to access their abilites. While demons and angels are just created with the ability to use aura and other powers at the start.
The Great ones try to be neutral about the world and try not to have too much influence. Except Catarina. She contriuted nothing so she doesn't care about this rule. Something even the gods didn't know was, the world is seperated by a veil. On the other side of it lies a similar looking world but home to so many more creatures. Opposite to the Great ones on this other side are beings called Dark wraiths. However there are ways to breach it and open portals so they can connect with each other. However everyone agrees to keep them seperate except the ones in Purgatory. Which is the given name to the other world. Purgatory is home to the worst evil and worst creatures.
Everyone's power comes from Aura. Aura reduces damage taken by a certain percent i forgot. It also allows excellent healing as long as it is up. Aura strength determines power. IF aura is weakened it limits damage, defense, and regen capabilities. Aura helps with everything even when it comes to resistance.
Athena is a goddess but serves a mentor in the story. She is supposed to be what you should strive to be. She represents will power and Fighting skill. Two important things for every fighter. She knows everything there is about fighting. Any technique and how to use any weapon. She represents a warriors infallible will. Those that get up after getting knocked down. Those that pushed beyond their limits. She doesn't even have much of a personality. That is why she can resist certain hax. Because of her nature. She has resisted Mind manipulation, Fear Manipulation, Telekinesis, Reality warping (Well everyone has reality warping resistance in the series), etc. Stuff can work on her, but as long as it doesn't count as manipulating her.
...alright, so pages for more Trinity Kingdom (or is Kingdom left un-capitalized on purpose?) characters exist now, so just looking through them all and compiling a list of things that Athena can demonstrably resist by virtue of it being demonstrated within her own verse by means other than straight-up Durability:
Resisting things like Precognition is due to active properties Athena would have (and is not listed as having), rather than passively being resisted or what-not (after all, Precognition more targets "the future" surrounding a target than the target themselves.) Also, unless Gaea is either a four-dimensional entity or has a four-dimensional power source, I have no reason to believe that the characters in the verse resist powers and abilities that stem from four-dimensional sources (I cannot really judge this as it is now, since Gaea lacks a page.)
Also, currently Athena is > Catarina, who in turn is > people who exceed baseline Planet level. Being >>>baseline Planet level does not automatically entail that she is over 50 times Planet level's baseline (which is what the baseline of Large Planet level is: see the Attack Potency tables), so I don't particularly think that Athena should be 5-A at all. She'd probably just be something like "At least 5-B", like Catarina; maybe add a ", possibly higher" to the end if that's still not good enough.
This all good? I can add the resistances/an explanation on how this Warrior's Will power is meant to work if nothing's been skipped or misunderstood.
Well Athena Page is a little different. Most have a power level and aura section which is not present on hers as I used someone else’s format. Iirc lekmos. In short I had her power level at 100 million. I did indeed intend to make her far stronger than the current gods except Gaia and The Guardian. Which are above a rating.
There is a lot about the verse on here that is missing tons of information. But only due to my lack of having a computer for awhile. That and I simply forgot when I did. Now that I have it and I don’t have anything else to do I’ll actually finish the verse.
Ima explain how power level works. It’s never said in story just something for me to keep scaling in check. And of course if anyone else would need It. It’s hard to explain but uhh ima give tons of examples
Someone with a PL of 400,000 and 600,000 is a sorta stomp. 400,000 and 500,000 is not. That being said I’m pretty sure I have Catarina and 2 mil in her god state. While I had Athena at 100 mil. Remia with her true vessel at 7 mil. And Remia arch angel fusion at 30,000,000. True vessel Remia would own God state Catarina. But Archangel fusion? Catarina would be less significant than a human and a bacterium.
And Athena is at 100 mil. So like Catarina isn’t comparable at all. That’s wat I added in my justification. “Catarina doesn’t hold a candle to her.” I dont put a way to determine power level inside verse cause I don’t want it to be a “oh they have 200 k higher, they gunna win.” But it’s just something for me. So I know who Stronger than who. I’ll add a section anyway.
Are power levels... "real" multipliers, as in, established as consistent within the canon? Like, would a character with 100 million PL be literally 50 times stronger/tougher/more potent than someone with a 2 million PL?
strength isn’t all it tells. Stuff like technique and speed are added to it. Aura, speed, technique.
Like a mage might have low speed but they might have a high power level due to aura and technique. Technique refers to ability usage. Now the reason I like this is because then I can actually use power level in verse without it being a “he will win.” Because it doesn’t only tell strength. Just never knew how to add it in yet.
The answer is yes. But there are individual categories. I have that stuff somewhere else. But you would have to see individual stats. But hey I got nothing else to do so I could finish that.
(Not necessarily in just like, "who would win", yeah, I mean only raw power for these purposes... being literally fifty times stronger than someone who's many times baseline Planet level would constitute Large Planet level, yeah. That's the pertinent info for that I'd think.)
People on this site- myself included, generally- really just do not have much of an interest in matching FC/OCs against actual canon characters. There's no rule against it, but I'm pretty confident you're going to have a lot more success if you go send your characters to the Match-Up Requests Thread.
