Luksein Gusev Arkhangel, known by his titles, Sword of Volition and Messenger of Death, is an A.O.F Operative part of the MERC Division 11th Unit, an elite unit created to deal with high-risk cases of Anomalies, specifically those that involve Anomalous Fields, an unstable area that could cause destabilization of reality and spatial collapse. He was recognized and acknowledged after clearing countless high-risk missions and even exterminating a Night Demon with only a group of three, and thus was promoted and allowed to participate in an experimental procedure to grant him the power of a Terror.
Appearance[]
If one saw him without his gear, then the thought of him being a powerful elite mercenary wouldn't cross their minds even once. Luksein is a thin man with a youthful appearance, with light-toned skin and sporting long white hair with black streaks tied into a side ponytail. His eyelashes are long and he has white-blue eyes, which prior to him defeating the Night Demon, was rarely seen by others. As elite operatives are allowed their own clothes by the A.O.F and are not required to wear the regular combat uniform, he choses to wear a black suit covered by a long white cloak decorated with golden ornaments.
After defeating the Night Demon and being promoted, as well as changing into a Specialist, his appearance shifted alongside the change. His skin grows paler, his hair becomes longer and messier, unkempt when compared to his previous appearance, and his white-blue eyes become more frequently visible. The golden ornaments become even more apparent now, and a multitude of golden chains wrap around his cloak and converge on a golden seal near his neck. At his chest area inside the opening of his black suit where a white dress shirt would usually be visible, there is instead a seemingly hollow space with countless blue 'strings' inside.
As the Corpseflower, he appears as a humanoid monster of flesh, with tendrils, 'vines' that wrap around his body and limbus, as well as countless 'flowers' blooming on his body. His hands possesses no fingers but instead a spiked edge that pierces and impales all that it touches, and on his stomach is a large, gaping mouth with razor-sharp teeth lining its edges. Where usually would be his face, a hollow space could be found instead.
Personality[]
Normally, he is a calm and reserved person like any other, being slightly introverted and more quiet rather than boisterous. When with someone he's close to or when engaged in a topic of conversation he finds interesting, he can become chatty, but not the point of talking too much and tends to be a listener for most of the conversation. He tries not to upset his friends and make them happy, but sometimes has a hard time reading people or understanding their feelings, causing him to sometimes accidentally upset them instead, much to his dismay. Despite being able to recognize flaws within himself, he struggles with knowing or understanding that he has done something wrong, viewing most of the things he does to be normal or good while others don't. He is also a spiritual and religious person, often wishing the blessing or protection of God in battle, and believes the battle against Anomalies to be a battle against demons for the sake and greatness of humanity, highlighting the fact that he also holds humanity in high regard.
Despite his usual demeanor, his attitude takes a 180 degree turn when provoked or in battle. When provoked or when faced against something he hates, he becomes harsh and relentless, criticizing them in a hostile manner and will attempt to undermine and crush the spirit of what he is facing against. In battle, he is merciless, mowing down entire hordes of enemies with extreme precision and efficiency, wasting no time or effort and sparing zero thought even against human enemies. He can even become excited in the heat of battle, for example when he first defeated the Night Demon alongside his squad, he became manic and extremely excited, exclaiming in joy as he mowed down the incoming hordes of Anomalies while laughing.
His excitement for battle becomes even more evident after the defeat of the Night Demon and his promotion, where he becomes far more battle-crazed and reckless. Even his normal demeanor has slightly changed too, being less shy and quiet compared to his previous self, becoming more assertive and active.

- VT-8 HF Blade: An impractical sword developed by an ARK higher up who was far too inebriated. However, despite the odd decision for wanting to make a sword for the military police, the weapon itself is not a pushover. It is a High-Frequency Blade, a blade designed with the concept of "absolute cutting" achieved by weakening molecular bonds through high-frequency oscillations and cutting through them clean.
- BlackDown R.300: A personal design by the private contractors BlackDown using a modified frame of the A-variant Ravenhawk platform design. Chambering the lower velocity .300 AAZ round, its close range lethality is reduced but comes with a much better damage retention over range. With the rounds superior reliability it is able to feed them from a 55 round drum magazine which also helps dampen the recoil.
- DE-Archangel .50P: The infamous Desert Eagle is one of the few firearms that have not been rendered obsolete to the transition to the Modern era, however its weight and impracticality leaves it out of most fields of combat. This version was developed with lighter material and a change to the SOP rounds, improving stopping power tailor made for mercenaries from a collaboration between PARAGON and M&A.
- AP-B995 Rounds: A modification that can be made to rounds of all types and sizes, and one applied to all of Luksein's ammunition. It is a special armor piercing modification that acts somewhat similarly to a High-Frequency Blade, only at a smaller scale and potency due to the limitations of technology. It is capable of piercing through the armor of a Night Demon effortlessly.
- Enforcer NANO Grenades: Chemical grenade developed for use by Enforcers, disperses nanite filled chemicals in an area that can be programmed for a multitude of uses mainly focusing on area denial. These ones are designed to latch onto and cause a damaging reaction to any enemies caught inside.
- M.T.I Stim Mk 2: The Medical Treatment Injector or MT.I for short is a fast acting stim shot injected through the use of two specialized needles that can weave around clothes. Accelerates healing process considerably, letting people from mercenaries to Enforcers recover faster for a fight. The formula was originally designed by INVIL but has been recreated by many other companies for their own uses. This Mark 2 version ditches the old cap and plunger system for an auto-injector based design.
- BL-Agent Gear: Special MERC equipment designed for on-field use, providing extra visibility in the dark and heat-detection capabilities to detect enemies through obstacles. Other than its utilitarian functions, it also provides further protection against disorientation-type attacks and any toxic chemicals that might be employed against its user.
- ENEMY Plates: ENEMY plates are special defensive technology developed for high-risk operations. It was made using cutting-edge technology that allows transferal of incoming energy and absorption of such, heavily reducing damage taken by the user and redirecting all of it to the plate itself.

Intelligence: Luksein is an elite MERC trained to be extremely flexible and adaptive in battle, possessing a high degree of quick, tactical thinking and being able to deploy shifts in strategy in a moment's notice. He naturally has extremely high intelligence, established to be a prodigy with near-genius levels of thought, capable of absorbing almost everything he has been taught with extreme speed compared to most people. He has great grasp on various swordfighting and hand-to-hand combat techniques, being able to use this knowledge to fight against even those of a higher level than he is, making up the gap in strength with knowledge and technique. Even in the past, during missions against Subjects, which are nigh-invisible and possess intelligence beyond normal people, he is still able to outsmart them and eliminate each one he has been deployed against. Outside of battle, he is also exceptionally gifted in the field of technology and science, as he was directly involved in the creation of his own custom implants and weapons, such as the main concept and foundation of the Marksman's Crackpipe, or the High-Frequency Blade upgrade to the KA-BAR D2 that would normally be impossible to implement.
Weaknesses: When activating his sword's focus, he can't switch to other weapons or use Stims on himself until the focus runs out, and he will be exhausted for a moment when it does. Despite possessing extremely high defense, he doesn't have any natural regeneration, instead relying on Stims, INVIL PMS-Stabilizers, and Archangels for healing. | Has almost no durability, having sacrificed all defense for speed, and relies on ENEMY plates and healing to survive. | The Corpseflower's disguise is destroyed when it is attacked or it attacks. All Anomalies, including Terrors, are weakened by the effects of Dissension Anchors. Once transformed, Terrors cannot revert until they are either destroyed or out of the sight of others, and when a Terror is destroyed, then they will return back to their previous form although cannot transform back into a Terror for a while. Notable Attacks/Techniques:
- Tower: Tower-Class MERCs are walking tanks, impenetrable shields that take upon the role as vanguard and tear apart incoming foes while deflecting all damage. They are naturally heavily armored, possessing many defensive implants and wearing fortified gear to further decrease damage and maximize defensive capabilities. Luksein in particular is a Tower-Class specializing in melee and direct combat, being at the very top of defense and power while sacrificing regenerative capabilities and utility, relying on equipment and teammates to provide what he lacks.
- Blade Focus: For a short amount of time, he is able to enter a 'focus mode' while wielding his melee weapon, exponentially increasing his damage output, strength, and speed for the moment it is active. While in focus, he is capable of cutting down entire hordes with ease, destroying multiple knights at once, and even fight nearly toe-to-toe with a Night Demon with nothing but his sword. However, when in focus, he cannot use any of his other equipment or switch to other weapons, and he will be exhausted for a short moment when his focus runs out.
- The Marksman's Crackpipe: An ability gained by Luksein after he switched to a Specialist body, the ability to accelerate and become faster without limit. To start with, he was already far faster than Specialists normally are, and he is able to become even more faster through every action in battle, from things such as his flash going off, attacking enemies, or even just moving in general. Furthermore, every action taken against him will also increase his speed, such as being attacked by enemies, others reaching his proximity, and even the activation of abilities against him will increase his speed even further.
- Vitriol: the ability to disperse fatal toxic gas which will kill any living being when inhaled.
- Demongate: The ability to create hellish portals that summon special Anomalies which will charge and destroy all nearby enemies.
- Hellraiser: The ability to raise any nearby corpse or vessel into Corpse-Walkers, changing their biological makeup considerably and he can control them as disposable minions.
- Retribution: The ability to create 'stakes' from his body and fire massive amounts of them in all directions in rapid succession, puncturing anything nearby, draining their blood and crippling their movements
- Shadowfade: The ability to fade into the dark plane, becoming invisible and undetectable to all beings of the mortal plane and becomes immune to all conventional weaponry, although he is incapable of attacking in this state.
- Disruption: The ability to unleash a hellish screech that disorients the senses of all those nearby and they will become blinded for a few moments.
- Bloodrush: The ability to exponentially increase his speed even more temporarily, but the gained weight will hinder his capabilities to jump and perform acrobatic movements while the ability is active.
