Summary[]
Los Ahogados refers to a Spanish folklore within the universe of Monstrosity. According to the folklore, there was once a cruel man who, after getting a divorce from his wife, decided to cause her harm by attempting to kill her precious feline companion. Tying a brick to the animal's paws, the man then proceeded to throw the Persian cat into the river, leaving it to drown. The cat struggled against its bind, trashing around to somehow make its way through the surface, all the while seething with anger for the man. As the years went by, the cat remained alive through its hatred. Its body had changed, some parts having rot away while others were far more aquatic by nature as its body adapted to the new environment. As its body grew each day, the rope finally gave away, allowing the now monstrous cat to finally regain the surface with thoughts of vengeance in mind. The true end of the legend is still unclear to this day. Many claim that the man was found mauled to death and that, according to forensic pathologists and even zoologists, it was of a completely unknown origin, although such an investigation and statement have never been confirmed to be true. Los Ahogados is regarded by people as a kind but severe guardian for mistreated animals, aiding them by brutalizing their aggressors and taking them under his wing.
