The IPI Malyuk is a Ukrainian assault rifle, also known as the Vulcan, developed by the indigenous Ukrainian arms company, Interproinvest. The weapon's translation means "Baby" in English, and is a development of the Soviet Kalashnikov assault rifle, which is reconfigured into a bullpup layout.
History[]
Development on the Malyuk started in 2005, based on an earlier attempt for a bullpup rifle, known as the Vepr, and the mistakes made with it, and it was based off a contract placed by Ukraine's Security Services, with prototype rifles before inquiries were made with the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense in 2008. It eventually made it's debut in 2015 at the Arms & Security Expo in Kyiv, and has been used during the 2022 Invasion of Ukraine to fight against Russian separatist forces, including the Azov Battalion, and has been demonstrated in Indonesia and Sri Lanka for potential contracts.
