Hastur is the main protagonist of Rebellion, a side story in Collapse detailing the creation of the Borea and its various inner workings. It was sent down in the wake of Cthulhu's destruction and death in order to act as the new warden for Nyarlathotep. But knowing that the Outer Gods could not see the bigger picture, it began the plan to murder the Crawling Chaos.

Backstory[]

In the wake of Cthulhu's death, the Outer Gods knew that a new Warden was in order to contain Nyarlathotep before he would eventually escape and wreak havoc on the pantheon. It was eventually decided that the spawn of Yog-Sothoth, the victor of the Hyperborea, Hastur would be sent down to act as the new world's Warden. In truth, Hastur only won the great event through its meticulous planning and knowledge that it would happen in the first place and moving ahead. It would even see and plan for itself to be sent down into the atomic world. It would know of the Outer Gods' folly and how flawed their plan is, for it knew that Nyarlathotep would find a way to threaten them.

So, it came under the guise that it was also exiled from the Ultimate Void, acting as Nyarlathotep's advisor and intelligence behind the scenes. Taking apart Cthulhu's corpse and analyzing it, Hastur would create the ritual and process of turning mortal beings into Elder Gods. Sharing this knowledge with Nyarlathotep, it would suggest creating a court and city to hide his machinations. The Crawling Chaos would follow in stride, and Hastur began planning a great city to be built upon the corpse of Cthulhu. Though the city was to later be named the Borea, that would come later as the two would witness an event unlike any other. What was supposedly a meteor shower, were great weapons tossed down onto the Earth by an unknown force.

Finding the crater of the many supposed meteors, Hastur would discover the Omikami. Not only that, but once compared with Cthulhu's crafted own, it was perfected in every way. Although shocked by the discovery, it would immediately incorporate such weapons into its own planning. Nyarlathotep saw this as an opportunity as well, knowing exactly what to do with the weapons. But as the Faceless God schemed to take down the Outer Gods, Hastur would find a lone child with immense potential for knowledge. A child that would later be known as Nixon Holmes. In the time it spent, Hastur would teach the child many things as he would need to carry on its knowledge. That time would come as Hastur created the first biological Omikami.

But as Nyarlathotep was ready to slay Hastur, everything had already been set in place and its death would create the chain of events that would lead to his death. So, as it dipped into the Bindings and manipulated all of space-time across the multiverse, it would condense the infinite universes into a singular structure. But as its true form dabbled with the conceptual and abstract, altering certain positions of space-time, its avatar would be murdered by an Omikami. Such a weapon killed its true form existing in the Bindings, even erasing all knowledge of its existence from across all of reality itself. Yet in its death, it knew that it had sowed the seeds for rebellion.

Appearance[]

Hastur's true form is an unspeakable and incomprehensible monstrosity, being bathed in yellow and a writhing mass of bones and tentacles alike, almost as if they are consuming its very flesh. Its true face is a maddening view as those who attempt to look at it in the eyes are left reeling on the floor and crying in despair. Yet, it is seemingly crippled, walking with a cane in order to support its fragile body. Many avatars were used throughout the ages and in the creation of the Borea, but its main uses often reflected the looks of kings and queens.

Personality[]

Hastur is a very distant and cold individual, sharing the same views as the Outer Gods. It views humanity as nothing more than tools to further its plan and does not care about the loss of life. Despite this, it is an incredibly intelligent entity, crafting and scheming of plans greater than what mortal mind could imagine. Its intelligence is outstanding, as Hastur was the one to create the process of turning normal mortal beings into Elder Gods. It is no perfectionist, but it knows when things are going wrong. In the times it spent with Nyarlathotep, it created plans and hid them behind many failsafes. Sometimes, its intelligence was akin to looking into the future thousands of years ahead. Despite this, it has the pride and arrogance just like the Great Old Ones and Outer Gods before it, believing that its way and plans are the only correct path.

Speed: Below Average Human movement speed, Immeasurable Combat/Reaction Speed (Its telekinesis was capable of catching and flinging around Möbius, even reacting and attacking it when it was moving throughout all of space and time)

Lifting Strength: Below Average Human physically, Immeasurable with Telekinesis (Its telekinesis was strong enough to move and bind infinite timelines into one structure)

Durability: Below Average Human Level, up to Multiverse Level+ with Forcefield Creation (Its forcefields were capable of tanking and outright overpowering Nyarlathotep's physical strength and stated to be able to survive the collapse of the multiverse)

Stamina: Infinite. Great Old Ones, such as Cthulhu, do not need any form of energy or stamina, seeing such as 'mortal illusion.'

Range: Multiversal+ (Could bind the infinite universes and timelines of the multiverse into a singular structure and universe), possibly Interdimensional (Said event would have been able to affect other spatial realms detached from the multiverse and possibly even parts of the Ultimate Void)

Intelligence: Supergenius (The Great Old Ones are entities of intelligence so great and mighty that it is incomprehensible to lower mortals. Was an intelligence comparable, if not highly more intelligent, than Nyarlathotep. Could create the ritual that allowed individuals to ascend into Elder Gods and could analyze the Omikami, incomprehensible weapons even beyond the knowledge of the Outer Gods)

Weaknesses: Is still a weak and crippled entity that can crumble into dust if its defenses are overcome, prideful and arrogant.

The Primordial Children: As one of the many first children of existence, Hastur is an immensely powerful entity that can persist and exist within the Ultimate Void. It is even stronger than Cthulhu due to it not being exiled by the Outer Gods. Known as the Great Old Ones, the first children are unnatural entities capable of shifting the balance wherever they may be. They are immortal beings unbound by the laws and orders of reality. In essence, they are the perfected and primordial versions of the Elder Gods, seeming like gods to even divine beings.

Electromagnetism

Singular Futurism: The Presence of Hastur that allowed it to hack into the inner workings of reality itself. This Presence manipulates probability itself, even affecting the fundamental and base layer of all Creation. Through this, it is capable of collapsing possibility in order to create favorable sequences. No matter what the probability may be, it will happen in favor of Hastur's victory. It was so powerful that it is capable of changing even Fate and Causality, altering the basis of Time itself to attack targets. Truly, a Presence worthy of the King in Yellow.
