Imagine you are on a date with your girlfriend that you've known for several months but she starts acting like the worst way you could imagine her (or really anyone you know) yesterday. Obsessively trying to change everything to fit an unrealistic image of reality with many methods that would take who-knows-how-much planning, making threats while carrying the message of "it's for the best" over the smallest things, treating most of the world as secondary all of the sudden, ETC. Basically... she's acting like a yandere. Most people would have probably fled for the hills once they figured out what was happening... but WDinATX was different. He couldn't take the idea of failing someone who believed in him and tried to find a way to make everyone happy... but ended up getting his brother killed when he called a bluff that wasn't a bluff before falling asleep in tears.
Looking at the clock the next day indicated it was just a dream which left him venting about it to her. A few hours later he saw his mother get hit in the head with a brick and hidden to an unknown fate and fell asleep in tears before it was that day again. But no matter what he did WD could never prevent tragedy, even "accidently" stabbing himself in the shoulder so he could call an ambulance before even seeing her only served to get an ambulance full of people killed and him in an unknown location. That was loop 19, and after this point he had lost his mind enough to not be able to focus on anything but these events and how to stop them.
An unknown amount of "loops" later WD doesn't even realize what occurred until it was already over and that was far too late. He had apparently woken up in an unknown location instead of his bed and killed his girlfriend when she came to help him, only to be knocked out from behind by someone. He then woke up under low light while restrained in a hospital bed. As soon as she noticed his awakening an indistinct woman in a surgical mask (that has "Doctor" written on it in neat text as what was probably a sick joke) egotistically started to explain how thoroughly she won with a sadistic look in her eye:
There was never a "loop", just a dream. The freak claimed to have been testing a machine to control and enter dreams while using it to keep her "subject" in his worst nightmare over and over by waking him up and putting him back to sleep in "less time than it takes for you to know you're awake" as a test for the human mind's limit and that she was "playing the part of your little lover" in the dream so she'd "have a warm welcome when she gets her invite". To drive the wedge further into WD's heart she threw a picture of someone he didn't recognize and a picture of an article indicating there had been an ongoing search for well over a week, starting the day in the dream. Fearing the worst WDinATX looked somewhere light was shining and saw the person in the photograph lying in a pool of blood while wearing what [redacted] was wearing. WD then realized that that was his girlfriend, but for the life of him couldn't remember her name. His mental search was interrupted by the freak's mad laughter as she was flailing around so much the place seemed to be falling apart. This pressure left WD cowering in fear so long he didn't notice she was gone until the dream actually ended.

Convinced Dream WDinATX that she was [Redacted] and was ignorant of the time loop. Could figure out most, if not all, of Dream WD's plans [such as his attempt to hospitalize himself] and used them to further his despair. The real [Redacted] could only find her lab because the Doctor left “an invitation” for her.)
Weaknesses: Is arrogant and unimaginably sadistic to the point of giving [Redacted] "an invitation" to find her and leaving a knife next to WDinATX's sleeping figure just to see if her experiment worked, going so far as to tell WD the whole story for seemingly no reason than to hurt him.

Note: Due to the layers of the dream I have decided to refer to my dream self as "WDinATX" and my dream self within the dream as "Dream WDinATX" despite them both obviously not actually being me. [Redacted] is my referring to my dream self's girlfriend because her name was said in it but was expunged from his brain.
Note 2: There were dream versions of several people from reality in the machine but [Redacted] was only ever found as the Doctor. Whether she was somehow replacing her or simply hiding her away each time is unknown.
