Summary[]
All David knows is that he has a debt to pay. He remembers performing some form of ritual to achieve immortality. He remembers it going so, so wrong, losing both his soul and his memories at once as his mortality slipped away from him. And he remembers that the full truth of what happened is so painful that every part of his brain seems to scream at him to run from it.
David is in a state of quasi-death, not dead but not alive either. In his rare nights of sleep, more necessary to soothe the spirit than the body, he is visited by Death itself, in the guise of a skeleton, always conducting a vehicle of sorts, who regales him with mockeries and mysterious prophecies alike, reminding him of the debt he has to pay back to the world through his actions. Unaware of how to really do so, David has begun acting as a reluctant vigilante, prowling the streets at night to halt petty and not-so-petty crime, earning himself the title of The Immortal.
Combat Statistics[]
Tier: 9-C
Name: David, The Immortal
Origin: World of Projections
Gender: Male
Age: Unknown
Classification: Quasi-Undead
Powers and Abilities: Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Martial Arts and Weapon Mastery (David's acrobatic prowess and uncannily low weight has let him create a fighting style of his own, lacking in traditional technique but making up for it with unpredictable, inhuman movements), Acrobatics, Pseudo-Flight and Surface Scaling (Due to a mixture of its supernatural properties and its state of partial mummification, David’s body is extremely light, weighing only a couple of kg without any loss of strength or size. This allows him to perform impossible stunts, such as leap extreme distances, glide on air currents and climb walls with little to nothing to grip on), Enhanced Senses (David can see through darkness as if it were daytime), Immortality (Type 1, 4 and 7) and Resurrection (David’s one true power is tied to his own quasi-death status. He is forced to remain on the material plane no matter what happens to his body, given that his essence is incapable of passing on to whatever happens upon death. No matter what happens to his body upon death, dust will gather from his surroundings even when there is none present, and fill any wound, even reconstructing his whole body if needed), Self-Sustenance (All types. David does not need to breathe, eat, drink or sleep), Preparation (Almost always plans ahead for any big fight, tipping the scales in his favor in underhanded ways, ranging from extravagant ones such as ), Resistance to Soul Manipulation (The Essence of every being in World of Projections comes from splinters of The Third's being, with The Third being a deity comparable in size and power to Gea and Lucifer, who would then go on to become entire universes. In particular, through unknown means, David's Essence is anchored to this world and cannot pass on, with this being the source of his immortality)
Attack Potency: Street level (Somewhat superior to those such as Jo)
Speed: Subsonic (Comparable to Jo)
Lifting Strength: Peak Human (Noted to hold superhuman strength for his build, and can easily overpower normal people)
Striking Strength: Street level
Durability: Street level
Stamina: Nearly Infinite. David cannot run out of energy or stamina on his own, thanks to his nature, however his body can be worn down through repeated, extreme harm, eventually causing him to faint.
Range: Standard melee range, extended melee range with cane/sword.
Standard Equipment: David carries a walking cane with him. It contains a sword within it, but he typically just sticks to smacking people with it, preferring to not use lethal force unless warranted.
Intelligence: Gifted. David clearly used to be a man with unmatched knowledge of occult arts and the supernatural, managing to almost achieve immortality, and has slowly been regaining his expertise through both study and first-hand experience. He is a clever and crafty individual, who can be relied upon to never take a fight head-on if he can instead tip the playing field in his favor in any way, no matter how under-handed.
Weaknesses: David is just as vulnerable to non-lethal injuries as a normal man, and can even be knocked out. Sunlight saps some of David’s strength, and causes him to tire out very fast, while halting his resurrection.
Notable Attacks/Techniques:
David’s one true power is tied to his own quasi-death status. He is forced to remain on the material plane no matter what happens to his body, given that his essence is incapable of passing on to whatever happens upon death. No matter what happens to his body upon death, dust will gather from his surroundings even when there is none present, and fill any wound, even reconstructing his whole body if needed. He is just as vulnerable to non-lethal injuries as a normal man, however, and can even be knocked out. However, he does not need to breathe, eat, drink or sleep, and is gifted with effectively infinite stamina. Sunlight saps some of David’s strength, and causes him to tire out very fast, while halting his resurrection.
Due to a mixture of its supernatural properties and its state of partial mummification, David’s body is extremely light, weighing only a couple of kg without any loss of strength or size. This allows him to perform impossible stunts, such as leap extreme distances, glide on air currents and climb walls with little to nothing to grip on. Coupled with impressive strength and agility, this has let David create a fighting style of his own, lacking in traditional technique but making up for it with unpredictable, inhuman movements.
David can see through darkness as if it were daytime. Additionally, while he does not have access to his memories, he is capable of instinctively recalling incomplete information about the supernatural, which he clearly used to be an expert in, when faced with it.
