I, Headmaster Monokuma, invite none other than YOU to play in the next school life killing game! What is a “killing game”, you may ask..? Well, it’s simple! Kill one of your classmates and get away with it in a class trial, and you will be able to walk free. … easy enough, isn’t it? |

Danganronpa: Memento Mori, otherwise known as DRMM, is a Danganronpa roleplay created by Moritzva as a project to look deeper into the Danganronpa world in a more rationalist fashion, with harder mysteries and further intrigue down to the very core. Sixteen students find themselves locked inside a decrepit facility, greeted by Monokuma, headmaster and lead of the game, and The Enforcer, a reluctant robot in the shape of a female student. What the students are told to do shocks them to their very core - Kill another student and get away with it, or die.
The students are to soon find that this Killing Game is one of extreme cruelty and brutality, with more features, more facilities, and more despair. Traveling through the cross-shaped halls, students find a room known as The Challenge Room, a difficult puzzle with great rewards present at the far end. Challengers in one room, labeled 0, and find themselves surrounded by three doors with numbers adorned in the center. Doryom Urbietta, The Ultimate Memory, steps forth to take the challenge, only to find himself gravely wounded by a horrid misstep. Death seems inevitable, with Monokuma cackling from overhead, until The Enforcer arrives with unexpected medical supplies to save him.
Alas, this one lucky break solves but one of many tragedy. Students begin to fall, murdered by their own. A Traitor lurks in the midst, motivation and identity unknown. As more areas are revealed, the facility shows more and more of it's faults, age, and seeming neglect. Supplies and food aren't restocked, slowly dwindling away with use. Above all, a mysterious figure, The Administrator, stands just beyond grasp, mentioned only in vague passages.
This Killing Game stands to be more lethal, more creative, and more hope-crushing than any before it. The students within must persevere past infighting and the chaos of their situation, solve increasingly difficult puzzles and trials, and discover the truth behind this increasingly odd and dysfunctional facility - before they wither away in starvation.
Powers of the Verse[]
Danganronpa: Memento Mori scales similarly to canon Danganronpa, with most individuals of athletic or vaguely superhuman capabilities, while stronger individuals such as The Enforcer can survive several large explosions and can tear apart heavily reinforced metallic doors with no trouble whatsoever. However, the verse does remain more grounded and reasonable to a degree, treating a student's talent with more reservation and balance that can remain consistent throughout, rather than jumping to extreme heights followed by plot-induced stupidity whenever necessary.
Physical power, however, is not a focus of the verse - intelligence is. The mysteries present within Project: Memento Mori provide a generally more difficult experience, with several students showcasing high levels of logistical thinking and planning to progress and survive. Challenging puzzles, mass manipulation, and more intricate social games plague the field, as complicated motives play out in ways contrary to how they'd initially appear. For this reason, even if their talents may not allow for bursts of incredible scripted feats, the smarter ends of the cast remain more competent on-average than their Danganronpa counterparts.
