Summary[]
Ciel Bela, former name Alciela Til Belnades-Archibald, is a character in Deus Ex Gyrus. She is a Shadow Mui (Dark Elf), the future head of the Belnades Family during the Age of Strife, and is the childhood friend and wife of Erithaea Archibald. Despite the arranged nature of their marriage, Alciela had held genuine feelings and devotion for Erithaea since she was a child, eagerly accepting the marriage and enthusiastically siding with Erithaea's plan to incite a revolution and change society.
As a child, Alciela always admired Erithaea due to how strong and confident he was, and when she was revealed to be a reincarnator, Alciela wanted to become strong so the two of them could stand side-by-side. However, the harsh reality of the system that the Belnades used to acquire power, a pit of violating, sentient mana that forcibly altered the user's soul to increase their magic output, caused severe emotional trauma to the Mui that caused her to repress many of those memories.
During the Mu Impact, Alciela's mind was shattered from the telepathic feedback that the death of her people generated, sending her into a comatose state. It was thanks to Erithaea's crest powers that she was saved from her own mind, and was able to come to terms with her past trauma and move on from it, gaining an even deeper bond and devotion to her wife as a result. This would be turnt on its head, however, when they were sent to the demon realm of Makai by the demon lord Satan. Erithaea was killed, and Makai's altered sense of time caused Alciela to be trapped within her own body, for what she believed to be hundreds of years. Her perception was so skewed that she could no longer move or speak, fracturing her already fragile mind from the mental torment. With Erithaea gone and nothing left, she walked into the sea of Angra Mainyu, simply wanting an end to the endless pain.
When Erithaea's crest resuscitated herself, and she plunged into the depths to become reborn, she found and saved Alciela's soul, a new body forming in the image of her previous one. Alciela was reborn as a demon, and that day, she changed her name along with her wife, becoming Ciel Bela.
Personality[]
In contrast to Erithaea's much more serious and determined attitude, Alciela is playful, good-natured, and rather teasing. She often jokes at her wife's expense, often lightly teasing her with kisses and little pokes. Despite this, however, she is nonetheless a capable warrior and is very much capable of taking things seriously when the situation calls for it. Alciela has an insatiable sweet tooth, once buying every dessert in a bakery and eating it in one go, using her crest to burn off all the excess fat and sugar.
Unlike Erithaea, Alciela is explicitly lesbian, and after becoming demonized and ending up as a Lust-type Chaos Elf, this trait has only intensified.

With one exception, all of Alciela's equipment was destroyed upon her casting of Lunar Drop.
- Shield: Alciela's unnamed shield, that is her most used weapon.. It is a foldable metal buckler that can retract into the gauntlet of her armor should she so choose. It is capable of projecting multiple layers of magical barriers, and like most of Alciela's weapons, she can control it via telekinesis, throwing it like a boomerang to have it return to her, bounce off surfaces to hit multiple enemies, or protect her from attacks in multiple directions.
- Belle Fleur: Alciela's rapier. It is her primary weapon to combine with her shield, and is inlaid with a myriad of enchantments. Alciela can vastly increase her attacking speed with this weapon to exceed even light itself, attacking in a flurry of blows and afterimages, and can also temporarily increase her movement speed to a point where those capable of perceiving light itself only view her as teleporting.
- Spear: An unnamed spear with unknown abilities, shown to be stored within her Treasure Ring.
- Treasure Ring: A silver ring with a small piece of Abis magicite inserted within it. Alciela programmed the stone herself, allowing her to access a pocket dimension within the crystal that stores her weapons and armor.
- Bracelet: An enchanted bracely that can communicate with a linked, identical bracelet. Alciela uses this to communicate with Erithaea.
- Alchemical Candy: A small hard candy stored inside her Treasure Ring. It's exceptionally energetic due to the process used to create it; a single one of them filled her with enough magic to cast Lunar Drop, a grand spell capable of breaking the spell barrier between Algo and the Star Ocean.
- Raven Armor: One of Alciela's armor sets. It is a suit of light black armor that covers her shoulders, forearms, chest, torso, and legs. The armor is enchanted with a myriad of wards and protective spells, and includes two notable enchantments. The first allows Alciela to manipulate her personal gravity, allowing her to walk on walls and ceilings, as well as shift between them rapidly, and the second allows her to form a pair of mana wings from her back, allowing for high-speed flight and greater aerial mobility. The wings themselves can also be used as weapons and shields against attacks.
- Setan Kober: A ceremonial Kris dagger with 9 luk, and a sacred arm that is considered a national treasure by the people of Mu. It was acquired by Alciela after she retreived it from Eloise Montblanc, who acquired it through unknown means. Setan kober's power as a sacred arms is Perfect Hypnosis. Actively, it allows the user to control the senses of others to make them experience whatever the user wishes. Simply by pointing the dagger at them, the target can be placed under control, and the weapon can manipulate even senses beyond the normal five, such as convincing Erithaea that her own crest was going out of control. When in use, it passively creates an area around the user a few meters wide that alters the senses of anyone looking to make them imperceptible.
Optional Equipment:
- Pegasus Regalia: One of the 89 Regalia, suits of armor based off of the 88 constellations and created in the forges of Lemuria. There are fourteen Aurite regalia in total representing the thirteen Zodiac signs and the ruler of Lemuria, and the rest are composed of various materials. Each regalia uses complex numerology to boost the capabilities of the user threefold, including their Strength, Reaction speed, Flight speed, Durability, Stamina, Magic output, and other minor traits such as regeneration and muscle fiber tensile strength. In addition, each one possesses a unique set of abilities and extra bonuses on top of it due to powerful enchantments. Alciela used the Andromeda Regalia after she was made its temporary wearer by Ras'Aul Siobhan. This set of armor is made of Orichalcos, a type of metal that is attuned to the mind, allowing it to properly mold its shape to that of its wearer. It also grants an extra layer of telepathic resistance due to this effect. Furthermore, the regalia is capable of generating
Intelligence: Genius. As the future head of one of Alexandria's four great houses, Alciela is one of the greatest mages in the country. Like most of the Belnades family, she is a master-level enchanter and creator of magical items, able to impart a great variety of properties into her weapons and armor, such as telekinetic control, pocket dimension access, and a myriad of protection spells. Furthermore, as a Belnades, she is proficient in Alchemy, Fencing, Jewel Magic, and Elementalism. She has an affinity for three of the four great elements alongside her family's darkness affinity, and despite the Belnades not having an esoteric affinity, Alciela herself was also born with an affinity for Abis magic, allowing her to learn things such as pocket dimension creation with ease. In combat, Alciela is an arguably comparable swordsman to Erithaea despite the latter's multiple lives of experience, and has proven to be her equal in combat multiple times across their lives. | Genius. Though she retained much of her natural, honed skill and intelligence, she has forgotten some of her magic over her time trapped within her own mind. However, this has been balanced out by the new knowledge and curses she has gained due to her time in Makai, fighting all manner of varied foes with hundreds of years of combat experience behind them. Later on, thanks to Apollyon's Memory Transfer ability, she has regained much of her forgotten abilities.
Weaknesses: If a large amount of elves are affected by something at once, the psychic feedback can cause Alciela extreme pain and distress.

Notable Attacks and Techniques:
- Magic: As part of the Belnades bloodline of Dark Elves, Alciela is naturally trained in Darkness magic. Furthermore, her multiple affinities allow her to combine this darkness using Cross-Casting, utilizing the Shadowflame, Shadow, and Eutrophication fusion elements from Fire, Wind, and Water magic respectively. Additionally, Alciela has a rare Esoteric affinity for Spatial magic, allowing her to create pocket dimensions given enough preparation.
- Shadowflame: A type of magic that mixes the Umbra and Pyra elements together. Forcibly applied to all Belnades members through the usage of the curse pit beneath their estate, it allows the user to generate a purple flame that absorbs light instead of emitting it. Shadowflame bypasses resistances to normal fire, and Alciela is quite fond of using it for the purposes of both combat and interrogation.
- Magic Crest - Ley Line: A Magic Crest is a unique collection of magic circuits, that forms a visible marking on one’s body. Those who possess a magic crest are capable of performing some manner of special spell or ability that doesn’t fit into typical magical categories, or would otherwise require large amounts of preparation and affinities. Magic crests can evolve over time, but are generally limited by the power of the one who possesses it. Most notably, they are especially resistant to anti-magic abilities. Alciela's family crest, Ley Line, allows her to create Ley Lines, rivers of magical energy that provide a power source to any mage that taps into its power. Ley Lines exist in the natural world as rivers of mana deep underground that magi build workshops over, but Alciela can create multiple miniature ley lines at once from her own mana, that take the form of small glowing threads of pure magical energy. The ley lines have shown to be solid enough and tough enough to bind people by tying them up in them.
- Caloric Transmutation: Because of the exceptionally high cost of creating Ley Lines, members of the Belnades family are capable of rapidly burning through their body's energy stores to fuel them. In Alciela's case, she has a habit of eating copious amounts of candy and sweets before battle, giving her a large store of energy to access at the beginning of a fight, and staying fit by burning that energy up.
- Spell Transference: Alciela can transfer spells through the ley lines she creates to amplify their power and cast them from a range, allowing her to attack opponents from multiple directions at once.
- Magic Circle Mimicry: By creating magic circles using her ley lines instead of through a passive effect like most magic, Alciela amplifies the power of her spells exponentially. Furthermore, she can theoretically perform any spell simply by creating the ley lines for it so long as she has enough raw energy to accomplish it and knows what the circle's shape is.
- Barriers: Ciel can create barriers by shaping her ley lines appropriately. These barriers were strong enough to defend against Beelzebub's Spirit Ray Cannon, which would have one-shot Apollyon Bela and completely vaporized her to bypass her regenerative abilities.
- Grand Magic - Lunar Drop: Grand Magic, castable only through specific means. This spell requires Alciela to consume an alchemical candy first, and then form a large group of Ley Lines into multiple magic circles. The requirement for this spell is that Alciela burns away all of her equipment and apparel, left with only her body as everything else is turned into pure magical energy. The spell forms all of her mana and equipment at once into a series of four moons, as well as fifth, larger one that appears around the opponent, sealing them and nullifying their power. The opponent is then forcibly enveloped with energy from the four moons, destroyed and broken down into nothingness, and the moon is sent to space with enough force to break the spell barrier, exploding in the star ocean. The attack entirely burnt Alciela out, but was enough to severely injure Satanael and incapacitate him, taking him out of the war temporarily and giving humanity a chance to recuperate and reunite. Ciel had originally forgotten this ability, but has since regained it due to Apollyon's memory transfer, though it would be weaker than if she cast it as a Dark Elf due to lacking Alchemical candy.
- Demon Physiology: Separate from humans and angels, Demons are one of the strangest species in the Samsara cosmology. Existing within the demon layer of Makai, Demons possess a myriad of abilities unique to their biology and mind that sets them apart from other beings.
- Chaotic Nature: As beings of chaos, Demons exist outside the standard laws of reality that govern humans, being unaffected by standard physics and forces such as Gravity, Electromagnetism, and similar. They are even unaffected by the existence of cause and effect, being creatures of chaotic energy that are continuously creating and destroying possible futures, realizing impossible events and destroying probability with their very presence. Through this nature, Demons passively undermine precognitive abilities such as Astraea's future sight, can fly simply by changing their own personal sense of gravity to "Fall" in whatever direction they want, and can perform other similarly-impossible feats.
- Immortality: Demons do not age, and their bodies are homogenous masses of curse cells, meaning that damage that would be lethal to humans such as decapitation won't actually kill them. Demons can also use their souls to possess other bodies if their main one is destroyed beyond its regeneration. Demons can regenerate from being cut into pieces, melted into sludge, and shattered into bits, and within Makai, they can regenerate their body from their soul alone.
- Demon Essence: As creatures of darkness, Demons are naturally in tune with the curse element. All demons possess a Maki affinity, governing cursed energy with their thoughts and having unique curses to their biology in the same way that humans have crests. Moreover, their bodies are entirely made up of a material called Demon Essence, cells infused with so much cursed power that they are more akin to mud than anything else. This gives Demons unparalleled shapeshifting abilities, and demon essence is also highly corrosive, breaking down and absorbing any matter that demons wish, converting it into sheer magical energy.
- Soul Manipulation: A demon can inscribe its name onto the souls of others, allowing them to "take ownership" of the affected person. This allows them to summon that person to their side at any time, serving as a link that works anywhere within the localized set of dimensions (That being, the main universe and directly-connected pocket realities). Through mutual consent, the demon that did the inscription can force the affected to follow their commands, though those with strong enough abilities can bypass the requirement of mutual agreement. On a more basic level, demons can also see, grasp, and devour souls whole, swallowing them up and absorbing the energy from them.
- Lust: All demons possess one of seven inherent "Sins" to them, as Humanity has ascribed. These attributes guide the demon's actions and thought processes, and results in the formation of factions made up of similarly-minded demons. Furthermore, each Sin bestows a small set of traits onto the demons that hold them that are shared across all of that type, including eye color and abilities. Lust demons possess pink irises, and their unique trait allows them to generate a powerful aphrodisiac. This substance can overwhelm the thoughts of others with their own desires, driving them mad with lust, and can be transferred in a variety of ways. Generally it is a passive aura of pheromones around the user, but they can also transfer it through the skin, as well as inject it through claws, fangs, and their tail.
- Angra Mainyu: The sea of All the World's Evil, an infinite, bottomless abyss of a chaotic black liquid that is responsible for maintaining the demon world of Makai. When Alciela fell into this place and was reborn as Ciel, she gained its essence within her, allowing her to recreate any curse that she witnesses. As the type of magic wielded primarily by demons, Curses refer to the ability to manipulate the cursed energies that make up Makai through the Maki [Curse] element. The actual practical applications of curses are limitless in scope, though the natural default properties of curse mana and the demon essence it creates are to supplant and invade into the bodies and information of the things it touches, generally for the purposes of absorption, corrosion, and corruption into more demonic material.
- Dollification: A curse originally used by the vampire baroness Sirin Cirella, which Apollyon used against her as punishment for her actions. The curse removes the opponent's motor skills, rendering them entirely immobile, unable to express any emotion besides a blank smile. Under this curse, the victim will follow the caster's commands without fail and refer to them as their master, and will even sacrifice themselves by getting in the way of attacks. In a pinch, this curse can be used on the user, shutting off their body's physical limits and causing them to move at exceptional levels of efficiency. However, it does come with the weakness of tearing up their body.
- Immersion: A curse originally used by Lady Moreau, ruler of the layer of Crimsonmoon City. When utilized on an opponent, it crushes the information making up their body down to a two-dimensional scale, sending them onto a matching plane of existence such as a silhouette on the ground, or a painting. Once here, the target will generally be immobilized due to the effects being 2-Dimensional places on them, though a strong enough being would be able to not only act on this plane, but break out of it. It should be noted that, if one possesses the proper means, such as art tools, a person or item that has been immersed can have their physical properties altered by redrawing or altering parts of them, or even reduced to a mindless blank existence by erasing them entirely.
- Garden of Paradise: A curse possessed by Lubius, ruler of the layer of Vultz, the monster-infested jungle and one of the least inhabited layers of Makai. It is a curse that focuses on the user, allowing them to generate pink fruit and a thick, similarly-colored mist that permeates throughout the environment. The mist and fruit are both exceptionally alluring; even inhaling the former (which increases its potency in thicker quantities) is enough to weaken one's willpower to the point of being unable to cast magic due to their brain not being able to send signals out into their magic circuits. Consuming a fruit will permanently bend the consumer to the creator's will, corrupting them into a new type of plant-like demon. Though Ciel has not shown usage of this, Lubius himself was also able to utilize this to summon ethereal butterflies that spread the mist further and create illusions by bending light through the mist, disguising his true form.
- Duplication Curse: An unnamed curse utilized by the Bicorn Knight, Orphion. It allows the user to create a second body and jump into it, leaivng the other one to explode with their magic and take a hit for them. It can be used to escape tight bonds as well. The body's condition is identical to the first, meaning wounds carry over; however, active effects on the body do not carry, allowing the user to regenerate their wounds if they've been struck by an immortal-killing weapon.
- Knowledge Transferral: A curse taken from Cinder, a hellhound in service to Mammon that worked at her Casino. It allows the user to transfer knowledge and skills from their own head directly into the minds of others, directly uploading the information into their body and soul. Ciel can use this to teach her magic techniques to others, as well as share memories and experiences with them.
- Whirl: The curse possessed by Dagon, the demon lord of the layer of Shadowsea. With this curse, the user can twist their surroundings, applying the curse of infinite rotation to them and causing them to spin around oneself rapidly, building up speed and energy. The user can create these spirals anywhere within their vicinity, and can cancel them out at any time, either dispelling the energy in every direction or sending it out in a singular one.
- Energy Reactor: Whirl appears to possess a mana condensation effect inside of it. Dagon was able to generate a quartet of spinning spheres of air around him like bubbles, which condensed the mana in the atmosphere and within his own body into growing sparks of energy. With just a few moments of generation, the sparks grew to the point where, when released in the form of an extremely compressed ray of explosive energy, even a single blast could become dangerous to the likes of Apollyon.
- Sugar Rush: The curse possessed by the demon lord Paimon, the so-called "Strongest Imp" that rules over the layer of Sakhar, the isle of sweets. As one might expect from the name and the ruler's description, Sugar Rush allows the user, in this case Apollyon, to create a territory in which she can generate and control an endless quantity of Dessert material. Apollyon can create Candy, Pastries, Ice Cream, and other things such as pure sugar to her leisure, and it comes with multiple other sub-curses within it, being quite versatile. Apollyon herself even described the curse as "Terrifying", serving as testament to the ability's true power.
- Transmutation: Sugar Rush can be used on non-candy matter, allowing the user to outright convert it into candy. When used by Paimon, she was able to turn an entire floating island into candy through this ability, every biome becoming unique in that respect. It can also be used to convert people into candy golems that are loyal to the user.
- Regeneration: Any material eaten or damaged by someone within the curse's area of effect will automatically regenerate, allowing the territory to stay completely pristine and idyllic at all times.
- Cleaning Effect: Within the territory that the user creates with Sugar Rush, a cleaning curse of sorts is applied, that automatically rids and cleans all dirt, germs, insects, and other grime. This has the effect of preventing things from getting sticky and disease-ridden, allowing them to consistently remain edible.
- Telekinesis: From Parallel Apollyon. This unnamed curse allows Ciel to launch people and objects around via Telekinesis, as well as placing them in a telekinetic bind.
- Speed Enhancement: From Parallel Apollyon. This unnamed curse allows Ciel to drastically increase her speed, being comparable to the boost provided by Belle Mort.
