Summary[]

Carmen is a eighteen year old, african-american female who dawns a black tank top with blue jeans, and strives to help with anything that looks beyond someone's capabilities.

Appearance[]

Carmen has a fairly average, typical teenager's appearance. While often not visible, Carmen's face is still littered with freckles, though they used to be far more noticeable when she was younger. Her hair is black, down to her waist, and mostly straight barring a few tufts which stick out. Her skin is an espresso color, whilst her eyes are a vibrant green when she's not training or engaging in combat. Once Carmen begins to amp herself up, her eyes will change color in response. When entering in her Mastery form, blue sparks of electricity begin to surround her as her eyes change to a bright blue. Once she's entered Voltage, she is mostly obscured by a thick aura of lightning and sparks, and is completely obscured by the glow of her aura in Contained. Once she's fully powered up in Mastered Volt, a thick white outline is visible, her hair becomes almost silver from the glow, and her eyes are pure white with a trail of energy flowing from them.

Much like the rest of her appearance, Carmen's outfit is nothing too special or eye-catching. Hardly diverting from something you'd see in a normal high school, Carmen mostly wears a black top and blue pants, with black shoes. Usually, a tanktop, jeans, and sneakers, though depending on the weather she may put on a hoodie, wear comfier leggings, and switch to black leather boots. When heading to sleep, she usually dawns a pastel pink onesie.

Personality[]

Carmen is a relaxed, yet very kind woman. Most of the time, she hardly cares about how she presents herself, usually dawning whatever's comfy regardless of what she's attending, alongside a motherly aura. Whether that aura is intimidating or comforting is dependent on whatever you've just done. While Carmen is mostly relaxed, she's not impossible to anger. She's actually fairly easy to tick off or annoy, but she's mostly respectful and learned to hide her anger, no longer resorting to violence. Depending on whether you're a friend of her's, a rival or an enemy though, she'll obviously be treating you differently.

Around her friends, Carmen is very relaxed and mostly lounges around. She'll actually participate less in conversations, mostly just listening and chiming in with either a bad pun or by making some sound effect with her mouth for comedic effect. Once her friends start getting a little too rowdy, she will chime in as the reason.

While her rivals are present, she's much more invested in the conversation, always enjoying some back-and-forth. She's very witty, quick to think of comebacks or insults depending on who she's talking to, mostly coming up with friendly-yet-negative nicknames such as "Stick-in-the-mud" for Reece, or "Silent-but-deadly" for Uta, or "Bitch" for Trinity. It takes a lot to floor her the way Trinity did, but at the very least, Carmen deadpanning usually makes whichever friend of her is nearby giggle.

When standing across from a villain, or one of the few people she considers an enemy, she hardly speaks. Most of the time, she doesn't want to give them the satisfaction of getting under her skin, and simply focuses on analysis as opposed to witty banter. The sole exception to this is Stacy, who she feels a sort of... "bond" with, definitely not a friendly one, but their history makes Carmen somewhat enjoy back-and-forths with her, especially when she gets Stacy mad. Don't let this fool you, however, she is still afraid of Stacy. If she were to find out Stacy had gotten out of prison, she would treat her no different than the rest of the scum of the Earth.

Once a fight has started, she retains her previous habits depending on how serious she's taking the fight. Assuming a light-hearted sparring session, she won't analyze her opponent too much outside of basics, such as 'fights up close', 'avoids melee', or 'has a very obvious exploitable weakness.' If the latter is found out, she prefers not actually pursuing it, more enjoying eliminating whatever options of her's that would exploit said weakness so she can fully enjoy the fight. This all changes at the drop of a hat once she's begun to take a fight seriously, however.

Carmen only has one rule once she's begun to take someone seriously, regardless of who it is. She won't take another's life unless absolutely, positively necessary. Killing is a villainous act, and there are specialized prisons that could hold 99.99% of any criminal she would encounter. She looks down upon those who would kill in combat, particularly if they're training to be, or are, full-blown heroes. Aside from that rule, Carmen focuses on victory and victory first. If the person isn't a danger to others, she'll likely reframe from her more damaging and dangerous techniques such as the Heat Fist, but this is void if her foe is a villain. Regardless of who it is, she analyzes her foes much more closely, taking note of their advantages and disadvantages to maximize her effectiveness as a Lightning Bruiser.

Standard Equipment: Various Seals, small bits of paper with magical symbols on them, that once applied, fuse themselves into the skin until wearing off. The seal can only be removed pre-maturely if the one who applied it wants to remove it, or if a fission user hits it. This can be difficult, as they are only slightly larger than the size of a finger, akin to a sticker.

  • Seal of Unbreathing - Allows her to survive without needing oxygen. Useful if fighting on the moon or against air manipulators. Lasts a day.
  • Seal of Immunity - Makes herself completely invulnerable against the element of the last attack that hit her, be it physical, fire, magic, or anything. Lasts an hour, but she prefers not to use it unless she's serious. Ruins the fun, and all that. If the attack consisted of one element coated over another, she would become immune to whichever element was the main damage dealer. If the attack is equally consisted of multiple elements, she would become immune to all of them.
  • Seal of Negation - One of few seals exclusively made to be applied to a foe, it negates a resistance or immunity to whatever element. Works even if the target's body is made of something that is naturally immune (such as a water-body now being vulnerable to fire attacks), but does not affect things they construct (a wall of water will still cancel out the fire attacks.)
  • Seal of Gravity - Makes herself or anyone/anything she applies it to affected by Earth's gravity relative to whatever celestial body/spacecraft is closest. (i.e., fighting on the Moon as though it were Earth, or casually walking on a space station.) Lasts an hour.
  • Seal of Anti-Gravity - The opposite of the above, with the same length.
  • Seal of Infinitus - In a scenario where Carmen is unable to absorb any electricity, this will allow her to be fed a constant stream of electricity to constantly regenerate her stamina and wounds. If applied to someone else, the element will change accordingly. Length varies between a day and an hour, depending on how much energy is needed.
  • Seal of Blixen - Instantly increases Carmen's speed ten times over. Incompatible with the Seal of Eden, lasts three hours.
  • Seal of Havok - Instantly increases Carmen's attack and durability ten times over. Incompatible with Seal of Eden, lasts three hours.
  • Seal of Eden - All attributes are increased tenfold, the effects of the following Seals are also applied; Unbreathing, Gravity/Anti-Gravity (depending on her desire), Infinitus. Immunity is also applied to all six basic elements at once, Fire, Water, Earth, Air, Electricity, Ice, and Soul (Attacks directed at her soul, or other abilities such as Soul Mutilation or Destruction.) Lasts five minutes, longer at the cost of beginning to tear Carmen's body apart. Hour at maximum, likely ends in Carmen's incapacitation.

Intelligence: Gifted normally, combative Genius.

Weaknesses: Water Manipulation is able to redirect her attacks from their targets, though trying to make Carmen short-circuit herself doesn't work. Rubber Manipulation or other rubber abilities are hard counters against most of her kit. While her seals are very versatile, they can be stolen and used against her, and she may not always have them.

Feats:

  • Outpaced an Olympian athlete, comparable to Usain Bolt in her base form, without the assistance of her abilities, in her freshman year.
  • Shattered a mountain in a fight against her half-sister, in her sophomore year.
  • Survived her right arm being blown off, in the same fight.
  • Took hits from Triza, a powerful demon princess who was capable of shattering continents, in her junior year.
  • Called an equal to Stacy, who was easily able to toss around skyscrapers with low effort, and stated able to shatter Pangaea, in her senior year.
  • Fought against an alien warrior, who was comparable to Triza and Stacy, on the moon, handily matching their blows without needing her transformation, in current day.
  • In her transformation, survived being hit through half of the moon, by the other half, by the alien warrior. While heavily damaged, she was able to get back up and regenerate herself.

Notable Attacks/Techniques:

  • Flash-Clap - Carmen engulfs her hands in lightning, closes her eyes, and claps, which causes a large flash of light causes temporary blindness.
  • Heat Fist - A martial art taught to her by assassins, Carmen is able to use electricity to generate large amounts of heat, then disperse that electricity before attacking. This allows her to blow through people's bodies, and is her go-to style of fighting when against someone who is immune to electrical attacks.
  • Clawed Strike - A martial art taught to her by the same group as the Heat Fist, Carmen can strike with very swift, elemental-less chops or kicks to cleanly cut through people. This is her main method of fighting rubber-based abilities.
  • Bio-Electoral Burst - By utilizing the electricity produced by every cell in another person's body, or electricity being used by a robot or something similar, Carmen can violently burst another's body. While she sometimes arbitrarily places a limit on herself that she has to touch the other person first to make it "fair", she can do it with just a harsh glare if she needs to. Due to the abundance of healers in her universe, she has no qualms about using it if she's bored or needs to hurry up.
  • Soul Lightning - By coating her electricity in energy produced by her soul, Carmen is capable of bypassing durability with her attacks, by damaging the soul directly. The soul energy replenishes alongside her stamina by absorbing electricity, and does not take much of a toll to use. Soul Lightning is also unable to be manipulated by other lightning users, though can be by someone, or multiple people, using Soul Manipulation and Electricity Manipulation in tandem.
    • Soul Paralysis - Only after destroying someone's body, or having her own body destroyed, by touching someone else's soul she can directly shock and paralyze it, leaving the body unable to move for upwards of a day. She much prefers using this as opposed to trying to destroy someone's soul.
  • Max Potential - A transformation (or technique, depending on your definition) that heavily amps all of Carmen's stats, it comes with a powerful, thin aura that can stop mind-reading, telekinesis, and most abilities in her tier that would manipulate her against her will. It also amps her durability significantly, allowing her to take hits harder than what she can give out.
