Summary

Batman was the leader of the Insurgency, aiming to take down Superman and the followers of his regime. Many people still question the desperate measures he used to try and take down the rogue god.

Dr.Fate managed to show Batman the horrors that would happen if the fight against Superman would rage on for eternity, now, he and Superman's allies have put aside their differences to pacify the entire multiverse and beyond.

Doctor Fate pushed Batman's abilities to their limit, allowing him to become the strongest version of Batman in the multiverse. Batman is the only person Doctor Fate trusts to be able to take over his reign if he believes Fate has become corrupted by immense power.

Wielder of a green lantern ring, gifted from Hal Jordan, Batman now displays incredible power and willingness to take on his foes.

For many years Gotham had feared my name, "Batman", "the Dark Knight", all the criminals feared it. They would roam the streets terrified of the symbol I created, and for years I silently roamed them, trying to bring justice were a corrupt city would not. It wasn't considered a great life by some, but I swore I'd never give up since that fateful night in Crime Alley.

It wouldn't be long till I was further tested by the tragedy in Metropolis, a whole nation shocked at, not only what a criminal could do, but what a hero could be brought down to. Superman was once a great ally and friend of mine, now he's a ruthless dictator, willing to kill anyone who opposes him and his vision of "peace". For years we fought, and lost more to such tragic events; My own son Dick Grayson murdered in front of my own eyes, Billy Batson, a child murdered at the hands of Superman, the list goes on...

After the defeat of Brainiac, I was in battle with Clark, in the Batcave, when from nowhere Fate intervened our battle. He came forth with a warning to which he showed us the world reduced to nothing but a fiery brimstone. "This will be the fate of all worlds if you do not cease your conflict!" He continued, "Your senseless rivalry will escalate through reality causing the multiverse to become unstable and unleash unstoppable cosmic horrors. You must adhere to order, or we will all be consumed by chaos!" Whilst it was difficult to put our differences aside, we could not have prepared for the intense years of rebuilding to come, both of our world, and our relationships.

I spent months rebuilding the old watchtower into one of my finest achievements, "Brother Eye", a portal that can cross universes, monitor intelligence, and a prison designed to house dangerous threats. Whilst myself and the top scientists were building both Brother Eye, and our relationships, other foundations were being made to prepare us for the upcoming battles across the multiverse and possibly beyond.

The more experienced combat members, such as myself, were teaching younger generation of heroes to become mature and experienced in the art of combat. Whilst I could never be their full time mentor, I trusted Kuai Liang, learning of his respect, honour, and experience as Grandmaster of the Lin Kuei. I hope he trains them hard for the battles yet to come, and I trust the Teen Titans will become good team once again.

Already being in a tough relationship with most of this universes supervillains, it was agreed upon that they would be best off fighting their own fights, not that they cared much about this anyway about this decision. Rules were made that killing and other criminal actions would be monitored by the powers above us, and although there is some great punishment would come to them for their actions, they are some freedoms when it comes to killing such as beings of pure evil.

Some of the world's most chaotic villains all together in a single group. While it sounds bad in a sentence, I assured Superman and his fellow ex-Regime allies that they'd be monitored and controlled to do what they do best under "safe conditions". Instead of being used to deal with threats at the control of a government lackey, we'd repurpose them to steal artefacts, money or materials from beings unworthy of them. I personally vouched for Snart being the leader as I trusted him being the least maniacal of the bunch, plus his code of no killing made him the wisest of the bunch.

The Sirens, an all female group that decided that they wanted the freedom to explore freely throughout the multiverse and enjoy "the best that it has to offer". Whilst I am concerned on the havoc they could cause, I'm sure Black Canary will keep them in check. Sometimes I wish Selina was fighting alongside me more often in the JLM, but sometimes it's also good to be free of her claws

Batman's story starts about how you'd expect; A young Bruce Wayne falls into a cave where he disturbs sleeping bats, that terrifies him. He later becomes an orphan when he requests to leave a theatre after being scared of the play, due to the actors portraying bats on stage, which triggers his memories of his accident. After exiting the theatre, his parents are held at gunpoint and are gunned down in what would later become Crime Alley. He then spends his childhood raised by his Butler Alfred Pennyworth and eventually leaves Gotham city to train with the League of Assassins under Ra's al Ghul. After training under the league for many years, Bruce Wayne returns from his sabbatical, he dons "the Batman" Persona and begins to fight crime in Gotham City.

Spending many years fighting crime in Gotham, Batman makes repeatedly battles and puts away notorious criminals such as Bane, Penguin, Riddler, and his main nemesis The Joker. During this time he also has an on and off relationship with Selina Kyle aka Catwoman, and recruits people who join the Bat family either under the Robin persona, or the Batgirl/Batwoman identity. Some would go on to join there own teams, whilst others would encounter tragedy vis-à-vis Jason Todd (Who would be killed by the Joker) and Barbara Gordon (Who would be paralyzed by the Joker).

Later, Batman would be one of the founding members of the Justice League alongside: Superman, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, The Flash, Hawkgirl and Green Lantern. United under the threat of Darkseid, the JLA would delay the New God's invasion of Earth after he retreats in bitter disappointment, noting Superman as his main reason for failure. A while after the invasion, Doomsday does battle with Superman, to which Doomsday is left dead (albeit one of his death's) and Superman is mortally wounded. While Superman would later be revived and would recover, it would later be an integral part to the rise of the regime.

After the events of Flashpoint, the boundaries between universes were weakened. This allowed triggered a fusion between Darksied and Shao Khan, after Superman and Raiden defeated them in combat simultaneously, causing the Mortal Kombat and DC universe to start to merge together. At first, people on both sides started to fight one another for dominance because of an overwhelming rage they plagued each side, but they both realised that in order to stop the continuous merge, they teamed up to defeat the newly formed Dark Khan. It is here that the effects of the Kombat Rage subtly leaves its mark in the heroes, providing the catalyst for the possible change for some heroes (Like Superman) to be changed and be able to be the dark dictator he'd eventually become.

This is where the main continuity changes and the events of Injustice begin. It starts of with Batman deducing that Lois is pregnant with Superman's child. Batman jokes that he can tell Superman is nervous and that since Doomsday isn't around, it must be that Lois is carrying Superman's child. This will become the last great memory between the two of them.

After Joker attempts to mind control the JLA and fails to retain control of Superman, after some help from Batman, Joker takes this as a challenge to corrupt him. He then succeeds in doing so by poisoning Superman with Scarecrow's fear toxin, making him believe that Lois is Doomsday. Superman kills Lois, and since Lois' heartbeat was linked to a nuke in Metropolis, the bomb exploded, destroying its inhabitants.

Batman later forms the insurgency to fight against Superman's Regime, and engages in a 5 year war, desperately seeking the aid of others to help put Superman down. The first year consists of recruiting help from criminals and heroes to aid in Batman's insurgency. Year two involves the help of the Green Lanterns, which fails as Superman helps kill Mogo, Ganthet, Guy Gardner, Kyle Rayner, and many other Green Lanterns. Year three feature the insurgency involving the JLD, baiting Trigon into fighting and defeating Superman, however Mr. Mxyzptlk intervenes causing reality to distort forcing Superman and Batman to join forces and seal them both in the void. Year four sees Ares trying to use the conflict of the two factions to his own advantage to manipulate the gods of Olympus through the aid of Darkseid. The end result is the Death of Hercules and the Highfather convincing Zeus to stop being manipulated by Ares, with Zeus and the rest of the Gods (with the exception of Ares) leaving Earth. Year five involves the insurgency's last stand, with Batman's plan to recruit the help of their doppelgangers from an alternate universe, to which he just about succeeds in doing so.

Batman of this Earth would succeed in bringing counterparts from Earth Prime over to his universe to help end Superman's Regime. He would end up being successful with the help of Superman of Earth Prime being the pivotal role in defeating Superman. Superman and the other members of his regime would be arrested, some of whom would later defect to Batman's side to join his Insurgency. With the threat over, the heroes of Earth Prime would return to their own universe.

Using his wealth from his own funds, and those bequeathed to him by Lex Luthor, he would spend the following years rebuilding all the damage that had been done, till another threat would arrive in the form of Brainiac. This allowed would cause Batman's hand to be forced, having to ally Superman and his old followers to help deal with this new threat. Batman worked together with his old foe to defeat Brainiac, although things would reach a tipping point when Brainiac was defeated causing the two sides to fight once more, however a surprise appearance from the apparent dead Doctor Fate would form a brand new alliance that would change the fate of the Multiverse.

After listening to Fate's warning, both sides listened and stopped fighting. At the start Batman didn't trust Superman still, but he would later see the importance of their trust as Fate's prophecies would come true. It wasn't easy convincing some of the most notoriously evil villains to come to an agreement, but he managed to get them to listen enough to pool their resources and start the most ambitious projects he'd ever have to do.

His first priority was to organise the human race into a one world government, ironically something he'd be stopping for a long time but this time it would be in the interests of the human race, for otherworldly incursions had already started with the arrival of a mysterious demonic detective, ninja turtles, and two allies from the distant past.

After locally establishing a base on the new watchtower called "Big Brother Eye", Batman would lead the new Justice League as a "Lord of Order", forging alliances across his universe whilst using his new augmented blessings to help secure his universe as a completely locked down area, making sure any threat that intruded could be neutralised with ease. Although it would take decades, eventually his home universe would become a safe haven from outside threats.

After decades of experience fighting and training, Batman would reach his peak and earn the title "Knight of Justice", now fighting to protect other universes outside his own, hoping to warn people of the incoming threat that would eventually arrive, and provide a safe haven to those who's worlds were falling apart. Stressed that his peak potential wasn't enough Batman was welcomed to becoming Hal Jordan's top lieutenant as a Green Lantern, but for Batman that still wasn't enough. Bruce went for a period of obsessiveness to find the strongest weapons and artefacts locally available to defend reality as it weakened. He was however pulled back to leading a squad of heroes after he was reminded that more often than not, one man is all that is needed to make a difference. He kept what secrets he had as a contingency in case it was needed, those being: The Spear of Destiny, the Mobius Chair, the secrets of the Anti-Life Equation, and the Miracle Machine. If it came down to it, he could rely on the technology of his allies such as Brainiac's knowledge library, Bane's Venom stores or the technology to beam enemies into the Phantom Zone.

Stamina: Extremely High. Batman has been involved in numerous mysteries, often getting side-tracked with numerous other cases and investigations, and having to sort out other conflicts over the course of multiple days, whilst maintaining his life as Bruce Wayne separately (Although his identity is now publicly known). Even if he is beaten up and seriously injured, he is still able to keep on fighting despite the handicap. Much later in his career, he his physical endurance has been pushed to godly levels. He travels to other universes, taking out extremely dangerous otherworldly counterparts, and comes back home, all in a days work.

Range: Melee Range, Several Meters with Batarangs. Dozens of Metres with grappling hook. Intelligence: Super Genius. Knows over a hundred different fighting styles as well as being an inventor, leader and businessman. He first designed technology that allowed him to monitor the world globally, allowing him access to surveillance systems and communication devices called "Brother Eye". He also made a transporter that was able to locate and pull superheroes from other universes to his universe. He built a cell for Superman, specifically designed to keep him depowered. After the destruction of the Watchtower, Batman would combine his technology to create a new base of operations in place if the old watchtower dubbed "Big Brother Eye". This new base had the ability to monitor threats across the multiverse, as well as being able to transport people across it as well. Batman is always creating new devices to add to his arsenal of gadgets, that can help him combat new and existing threats, as well as improve his current arsenal of gadgets and technology. Was also able to outwit and outbattle another Batman, who's intelligence and paranoia rivalled that of himself.

Weaknesses: Refuses to kill in character, and will go to extreme lengths to avoid doing so | Black Lanterns are resistant and do extra damage to Green Lanterns

Key: Standard Preparation | Miracle Machine | Mobius Chair | Spear of Destiny | Anti-Life Equation

Non-Physical Interaction and Power Nullification (Can harm the Spectre. It's unknown if it can truly kill the Spectre, but it's divine nature combined with having almost killed him in the past suggests it's possible. If so, that would require to bypass the Spectre's immortality and regeneration)

All the powers from the Anti-Life Equation

Attack Potency: Unknown (Not all methods of preparation are applicable to attack potency and are either hax based or increase statistics in other areas such as intelligence, Bane's Venom should enhance his current strength to an unknown degree) | At least Low Multiversal level (The Miracle Machine is a direct creation of the Guardians of the Multiverse and is made from their power) | Low Complex Multiverse level (The Mobius Chair was created by the Anti-Monitor, and has power retained from Doctor Manhattan from when he touched it, after killing Mobius and Owlman) | Possibly Complex Multiverse level (With the Spear of Destiny, he should be able to harm The Spectre, as the weapon has been shown to almost kill him, and be seen as a threat to him on multiple occasions, even being shown to kill him in a true vision. Contains essence from the Son of God/The Presence) | At least Low Multiverse level with the Anti-Life Equation (Exists on a higher plane of existence and is far superior to the New Gods who reside there)

Speed: Unknown (Unknown how much merging with Brainiac increases his minds processing speed, but it should increase Batman's ability to process information much more quickly), at least Massively FTL+ (Comparing to non-preparation key) | Unknown, (Can presumably wish to be as fast as he'd like to be), at least Massively FTL+ (Scaling to his non-preparation key) | Immeasurable | Immeasurable | Nigh-Omnipresent

Lifting Strength: Unknown (Bane's Venom should at least improve upon his current strength to an unknown degree) | Unknown (Can presumably wish to be able to lift as much he'd want to) | At least Class Y (Was able to causally pull a planet from it's orbit), likely Immeasurable | Immeasurable | Immeasurable

Has also been imbued with power from Doctor Manhattan) | Complex Multiverse level (When in possession of the SoD, users should be able to resist attacks from the Spectre) | At least Low Multiverse level

Stamina: Bane's Venom should increase his stamina, possibly Infinite when merging with Brainiac's Ship (Unknown just how much of his organic body is enhanced by nanotechnology to the point it gives him equal stamina to Brainiac) | Unknown, at least Infinite (Can presumably never tire) | Infinite with the Anti-Life Equation

Range: At least Multiverse level+ (Should have the same range without preparation). The Phantom Zone is a pocket reality sealed off from regular space-time to which users are trapped in. The Mobius Chair is able to travel across the multiverse and to other dimensions. Extended Melee Range with the Spear of Destiny. At least Low Multiversal, as Darkseid has often wanted to use it to enslave his reality and all of the multiverse.

Intelligence: Super Genius when merging with Brainiac's ship (Unlocks the knowledge of Brainiac who has a 12th level intellect). | Unknown (Has the ability to wish for increased knowledge, although it's upper limits is unknown) | Nigh-Omniscient (The Mobius Chair contains all the knowledge of the New Gods as well as detailed information that has been visited by Metron. After Doctor Manhattan imbued the chair with his power, it gave people his ability to see past, present and future all at once).

Weaknesses: Inexperienced using the various artefacts at his disposal. Although it's addictive qualities have been removed, Bane's Venom can make him a hulking mass, similar to Bane's appearance making him a slightly bigger target to hit (It also takes a while for the effects to pass and "de-hulk"). The Spear of Destiny can be corrupted, through a certain ritual, making users who wield it go insane. The Anti-Life Equation can be offset by labelling oneself with the New Genesis word for freedom.

Feats: Has defeated thousands of metahumans with varying superpowers, and has decades of dedicated experience in defeating them. Stated he could incapacitate and defeat the entire Knights of Justice cast with just a weeks worth of preparation time. Has defeated opponents that are both superior in strength and intelligence, using his own intelligence and preparation skills to help take down enemies above his class.

Notable Attacks/Techniques:

Base/Level 1

  • Combat Shield: Batman has a shield equivalent to his own base durability.
  • Teleportation: Batman drops a smoke bomb, allowing him to seemingly teleport to a relatively nearby location.
  • Batwing: Batman can pilot the Batwing in order to traverse space, the sea, and the air. Later he can summon it to aid in combat and/or transport precious cargo.
    • Machine Guns: Twin mounted machine guns attack opponents in large volleys. Knightwing has pure Nth metal rounds, a super rare metal that is dangerous, as it has the power to bypass conventional durability and even those that are invulnerable.
    • Shields: Taking technology borrowed from Brainiac's ship, it has a reflective shield that reflects physical attacks towards the opponent. The Knightwing will gain a second layer of shields when Batman is wearing his Lantern ring.
    • Rockets: Smart guided missiles can be launched in volleys or single shots. Later versions also have also has additional effects that become more powerful and potent as Batman's power level increases, which include:
      • Napalm Rockets F171: Highly flammable and effective against armour and exposed flesh
      • Cryogenic Rockets I415: Absolute zero rockets instantly freeze the target upon contact. Is also effective against shields.
      • Static Rockets E12: Static rockets discharge energy causing chaos to electronics and utterly overloading shields.
      • Poison Rockets P125: Poison gas is released upon detonation. Any shrapnel that enters the bloodstream can cause blood poisoning.
      • Explosive Rockets E612: Explosive shells easily bypass regular armour and cause lots of internal damage.

  • The Power Of Zoom: Batman can release speed force energy harnessed from the Flash (By collecting energy into a vial) allowing him to move as fast as a Speed Force user for 5 seconds (This scales to each form for example, the "Knight of Justice" form will scale to each other and the same for Lord of Order).
  • Armour: His armour has been heavily reinforced so that it reduces physical/kinetic attacks
  • Security Orbs: Batman can summon security orbs that attack the opponent, which fly around and attack from various angles. Batman usually has around 10 equipped for him to use at any one time.
  • Godly Strength: Batman is granted Godly strength via harnessing a fraction of the power from the Olympian Gods. This has the ability to knock people out of invincibility, but doesn't kill them after they are knocked out of it. Unfortunately, due to limited amount of energy stored, all the power is expelled used in one blow due to the dangers of having such raw power coursing through them for too long, so if it misses, it's a wasted opportunity.
  • Enhanced Gloves: Can amplify his gloves similarly to the enhanced rocket technology using: Poison, fire, ice, and static electricity.
  • Billionaire Infusion: Pure Gold is synthetically laced into the suit. This magically allows him to resist attacks from other rich characters and can do more damage to them. His batarangs are also now pure gold.
  • Kryptonite Armour Infusion: Magical Kryptonite is synthetically laced into the suit. This allows him to resist attacks from alien (not born on Earth) characters and can do more damage to them.

  • Plasteel Tactical Infusion: His suit is magically infused to resist attacks from military based characters, and can do more damage to them. Stealth attacks are more effective.
  • Luther/Wayne Infusion: His suit is magically infused to resist attacks from scientific based characters, and can do more damage to them. Technology attacks are more effective.
  • Triple Jump: A special enchantment in his belt allows him to improve his acrobatics, allowing him to perform a triple jump.

Knight of Justice/Level 30

  • Flight: Batman has evolved to the point where he now has the ability to fly unassisted by technology.
  • Enhanced Physiology: Batman is able to breathe in space and underwater without tech assistance.
  • Utility Belt: Batman has a utility belt that has has a ridiculous assortment of gadgets that are always ready to be used in convenient situations. This usually allows him to get out of almost every situation almost too conveniently...
  • Green Lantern Ring: When called by Hal Jordan, or when facing a stronger opponent, Batman can put on his ring that he keeps on his utility belt.
  • Bat Drones: Summons robotic versions of Batman, Batwoman, Batgirl, Huntress, Robin, and Nightwing. Bat Drones are similar to Beta Drones in that they can adapt to the enemies attacks. Bat Drones can mimic Green Lantern energy when Batman puts on his green lantern ring, allowing them to gain strength and create energy constructs. For a small scale fight Batman doesn't use these unless he knows the opponent is dangerous. He tends to keep around a hundred in storage to deploy strategically if needed. He can create more and make the more deadly given sufficient preparation time.
  • Perfect Invisibility: Can turn a dial on his utility belt, making him completely invisible from sight, sound, radar, light spectrums, magic, and other enhanced senses, almost as if he didn't exist.
  • Mirror Images: Batman can create technology based mirror images by switching a dial on his utility belt. They are most often used to quickly distract opponents so Batman can strike from another angle, but they are not tangible and can't affect anything.

Green Lantern

  • Immortality: Can't be killed as long long as the primary Green Lantern battery is functional. This is because the main lantern battery contains the physical information of all present Green Lantern members, and Batman will be resurrected by his Green Lantern ring.
  • Indomitable Will: His willpower is extremely strong making it difficult to affect his mind, doubly so know that he has pure willpower flowing through him.
  • Conceptual Will: He can manipulate living things to allow even emotionless beings to feel emotions. He can enhance/decrease the will of others remotely via his ring.
  • Energy Constructs: His lantern ring automatically provides him with an additional shield layer, and he can create constructs based on thought. The more detailed/complicated the construct is, the stronger it can provide defence or do additional damage, although this requires the user to think of every detailed part.
  • Bound: The ring is bound/enchanted to his finger, and unless he wants to take it off, or is deemed unworthy of the ring (Only those of pure hearted will can wear a lantern ring) it will stay there.
  • Green Lantern Battery: Batman creates a Green Lantern Battery that deploys energy underneath it, which draws power directly from the main battery. Any Green Lantern member that stands underneath it will receive resistance to power nullification as the pure lantern energy will protect their powers on a conceptual level. People who can mess with concepts can only alter this by interacting with the main lantern battery, although they would have to get passed the Green Lantern corps and Ion to do so.

Preparation

  • Preparation: Batman is well known for having contingency plans for combating threats beyond his normal abilities, and should have the ability to track them down across the DC multiverse.
    • Anti-Life Equation: The Anti-Life equation is a core part of the DC Multiverse, emanating from the Source, which can alter reality using a mathematical formula.
    • Merge with Brainiac: Batman can merge with Brainiac's ship, increasing his intelligence to a 12th level intellect. Batman is one of the only people who'd be willing to sacrifice his humanity if it was necessary
    • Miracle Machine: A wish granting machine, created by the Guardians of the Multiverse, that brings whatever the user wants to life by the power of thought.
    • Mobius Chair: Having once previously used it himself, Batman should be able to hunt down and find the Mobius Chair, which should be especially useful for gaining intelligence to find other artefacts, or find out about opponents. The chair grants Nigh-Omniscient knowledge (Based on the knowledge from the New Gods) It also has a shield that can also block intangible beings. Other abilities include: Interstellar teleportation, Life Support, Danger/Life Sense, Holograms, Tractor Beam. Contains power from Doctor Manhattan after he interacted with it.
    • Phantom Zone: Can trap the opponent in the Phantom Zone, a pocket universe outside of time-space. The Phantom Zone itself has no physical materiel and as such, beings exist as "psychic phantasms of their true selves", which means that the prisoners can't move or even speak, only being able to communicate with telepathic thoughts.
    • Spear of Destiny: Batman is aware of the presence of the Source, and it's connection to the most powerful entities in the DC Universe. Paranoid that almost any entity could go rogue as he knows that his once long-time friend was once "incorruptible", and aware that there are threats outside of his multiverse that are supposedly making their way over, he has put research into acquiring a spear with such divine properties, that it has the ability to potentially even kill the Spectre. The Spear of Destiny should have the ability to kill The Spectre meaning that it is capable of bypassing its immortality and regenerative capabilities.
    • Venom: Batman can amplify his base strength by injecting himself with Bane’s Venom.
