Golden void

Listen, Detective. My brother is right, in some regards, but sucking up all the trivia on everything that ever did or didn't for about an eternity? It's messed with his head, giving him some idea of grandeur for himself and this "reality". But let me tell you something: if whatever old, decrepit, stuck-up arse decides to put us in this place, in this "playground" for all intents and purposes, and not bother to explain anything, well, why shouldn't we treat it as just that, a playground?
~ Aurum's philosophy

A character originally made by Yellowpig10 on JBW, but appropriated and reworked by Crabwhale with his consent.

Aurum, less commonly known as the Trickster Knight, is a Spectral Destroyer, one of the mysterious entities dwelling in and originating from the Outer Void, a dimensionless space outside reality. Despite him and his siblings vastly transcending the concept of age, he is generally accepted to be the youngest among, and also, by far the most chaotic of all of his brethren, as he bears not even a title at most times, showing his complete disinterest in what mortals refer to him as.

He has been locked away for time eternal by his more "sensible" brethren, as his complete lack of recognition for reality and unpredictability make him a rogue agent potentially as dangerous as the Ashmaker himself. However, in the near-certainty of Ngrynthis' return, it could very well be that Aurum will have to be reawakened to stop the annihilation of all that there is and will be, as in spite of his personality, even he considers complete nonexistence an unsavory option.

Aurum's true form, his Outer Void self, is an incomprehensible AURA of pure energy, encompassing a space beyond space, but clad in a very similar golden haze to his previous forms (or at the very least, so it is depicted, as the standard set of colors in the Outer Void, if they exist at all, is likely requiring of some vastly higher perception to truly comprehend and may not even fit the definition of color at all).

Preferring most of the time to appear in the form of avatars, Aurum's constructs of will possess little distinctive features, appearing as faceless humanoids covered in a golden, ethereal mist, varying in size from "smaller than atoms" to "larger than infinitely layered dimensional superstructures".

His "true" avatar (i. e. his most frequently used and most powerful true form within Real-Space) has the appearance of a golden knight brandishing a greatsword, a perhaps surprising choice given his personality, though it is all too likely that he is merely copying from his brothers' similar choice of true representation, at least within Real-Space.

His real form, existent within the Outer Void, is that of a titanic, unfathomable, unthinkable, mass of swirling, chaotic, ethereal mist, covered in a golden light (although, given the dimensionless nature of the Outer Void, it is likely that this golden haze, is not even "golden" at all, instead likely being some abstract greater "color" fitting into the undimensioned nature of the Void).

In spite of being a being far beyond conventional understanding of thought itself (and subsequently, of morality), across the many cultures in the multiverse that have observed him or parts of him, the general consensus is that he is a trickster fairly uncaring of any sort of conventional norms of any reality, willing to easily disregard them entirely at all times just for fun and especially if it benefits his schemes.

His demeanor towards dimensional existence, and the beings therein, is one that could possibly be expected from a being of such greater scope: complete and total inability to view them as anything more than playthings for his own amusement. The cosmos at large is judged as no more than a mere "playground" to him, with every universe and dimension being the "grains of sand".

His relationship with his brothers can, bizarrely enough, be correlated with that of a young teen, callous and rebellious, viewing their morals and their putting on a pedestal of creation as nonsensical and pointless. However, in spite of his general distaste for the lesser going-ons of existence, he still does confess that he does not desire the outright destruction of standard space, as that would entail the obliteration of his "playground" and, subsequently, a vast array of his various "toys".
