Do you think it's a heresy to be called the Queen of Heaven and the wife of God? Honey, I'm a pagan goddess. I am heresy personified. A being that was adored and received cults that were not directed to God.
~ Asherah to Elizabeth Johnson.

Asherah, also known by many other names like Inanna, Ishtar, Astarte, Athirat, Lady of the Sea, is a primordial canaanite Goddess who was worshiped by both the Canaanite people and the people of Israel. She is even mentioned in the Hebrew Bible, being referred to by the prophet Jeremiah as Queen of Heaven.

Like most gods, Asherah was originally a human and, after being worshiped as the queen of heaven by ancient peoples, she eventually ascended and began to be worshiped as the goddess Asherah, who was so important to ancient peoples that she came to be worshiped as the wife of the God of the Israelites, Yawheh. She is one of the goddesses from Warriors of Eden.

Backstory[]

Asherah was originally a woman named Smyrna, a beautiful woman who inhabited the regions that currently would be the Sumer, although it is not known if this is really true, as the Earth during the pre-Flood period was totally different from how we know it today, as the flood it caused a great shake in the technotonic plates and most of the continents are under water to this day. Smyrna was a woman much adored and idolized during several of her years of life, mainly due to her great beauty, which was said to belong to none other than a goddess, which made her always proud of her beauty.

Smyrna was very proud of her beauty and her body, believing that no man was worthy to marry her, with the exception of one, her younger brother who was called Azurade, who was also an enchanting beauty, being desired by many women from its time. Smyrna eventually married her younger brother and together the two were worshiped as gods, with Smyrna being worshiped as moon goddess and Azurade as sun god.

After Smyrna died, she continued to be worshiped as the goddess of the moon and love and, due to the great faith that people had in her, her spirit ended up evolving, becoming a very powerful spirit, in other words, a goddess. After that, she became known by various names and titles, with her main goddess name being Asherah. Her brother became known as El and other names such as El Shaddai and El Elyon. The two together had many children, with two standing out from the rest, these were Baal and Anat, two deities that would give a lot of headaches to the Israelite peoples in the future.

While most gods lived in their own dimensions like Izanagi and Brahma, other gods like Asherah and her husband lived on a high mountain now known as Cheekah Dar, located in present-day Iraq. On this mountain they were worshiped as the supreme gods alongside their god sons and daughters. They were without doubt one of the greatest pagan gods during the pre-Flood period.

When the Angels descended to Earth with the intention of reproducing with the women of the planet, Asherah ended up making an alliance with the Grigori with the intention of continuing to be adored by humans, since being the goddess of sex and love, her worship would be very good for the angels, since their intention was to have children with human beings. With humanity's corruption because of sin, God sent thier children, Michael, Gabriel and Uriel to use their powers to melt the ice caps and cause the Great Flood, and so the three angels did, with the waters sweeping the surface of the planet.

The Flood destroyed several continents, with much of the planet still under water to the present day. Due to this, all the gods suffered great losses due to the death of millions of followers, which forced many deities to hide in their own dimensions as did the goddess Amaterasu. While others like Zeus had to hide in the depths of the Earth to take shelter. While Asherah and El were simply swallowed by the flood waters, their physical forms being destroyed and they being forced to remain in their spirit forms for nearly a year until finally the flood waters dried up in order to create a new physical form.

As with all gods, Asherah and El were greatly weakened due to the large number of deaths that occurred during the flood, and furthermore, after humanity began to spread, Asherah became known by several other names such as Inanna, Astaroth, Isthar and etc., which caused their worship to be increasingly abandoned, due to the fact that humans began to consider all these titles belonging to different goddesses rather than the same goddess. Because of this, Asherah began to cultivate great anger toward God and His Angels for what they did to her and her family.

Thousands of years later, Asherah created an avatar of herself to live on Earth, likewise El created an avatar of himself to live among humans, in this case, his avatar was the son of Asherah's avatar, Asherah's Avatar's name was Semiramis and El's was Nimrod. Semiramis and Nimord alike their true selves, they had remorse for God and the Angels. It was then that Nimrod planned to create a gigantic tower that was over 2,000 meters high (later known as the Tower of Babel). Nimrod planned to ascend to heaven and dethrone the Creator and His Angels and become greater than God Himself.

Nimrod was extremely evil, possessing thousands of slaves from different places, forcing them to work non-stop for 24 hours to build the tower, all due to his ambition to want to be greater than God. It was when, by inconvenience, that the Fallen Angel Lucifer passed by that place. As Nimord and Semiramis were worshipers of El and Asherah, they managed to communicate with the two gods and were informed that Lucifer was, in reality, an angel. Nimrod and Semiramis ordered the capture of the Archangel, something that even to Lucifer was a little surprising about the surprise attack. However, the Archangel, unlike God, didn't like being challenged by beings smaller than her, so Lucifer didn't mind killing Nimrod's soldiers.

Nimrod then decided to attack the Morning Star alone, as he believed that Lucifer being an Angel should not be stronger than a god, something that unfortunately for him was far from the truth, Lucifer was much more powerful than any deity. Lucifer killed Nimrod and shortly thereafter killed Samiramis. While the Morning Star took the life of the rulers, a rebellion broke out in the city and slaves began to flee the terrible city of Babel. Something that aroused the anger of Asherah and El, as for the second time Yahweh and his family were causing problems for them. Lucifer for enjoying having fun in irritating the gods, did not think twice before looking at that gigantic tower and with its mighty flames bring down that tower and annihilate that city in an apocalypse of fire. Ending Nimrod's reign.

After a few years, the Hebrews, descendants of Abraham, a man who made a covenant with God, began to worship Asherah and other Canaanite gods together with the Israelite God, with some even abandoning the Creator. In fact, some Israelites even worshiped Asherah as Yahweh's wife, something that greatly angered the Angels and even El and Baal. Asherah, however, took advantage of the situation to try to profane the name of God, and to do this, she required rituals of prostitution, adultery and guessing, something that was not allowed by the God of Israel. The Angels became irritated by the audacity of the Canaanite gods, and because of that, they began to attack the places where Asherah was worshipped, destroying their statues and cursing their followers.

Finally, between 605–562 BC, after Nebuchadnezzar II destroyed Jerusalem and took the Israelites captive, the Israelites abandoned the worship of the goddess Asherah and the other Canaanite gods altogether, and everything got worse after the birth of Yeshua, who founded Christianity, a religion that worshiped the God of Israel and forbade worship to any other god or entity other than the one true Creator-God. Currently, Asherah is worshiped only by small Satanist groups, being seen as a demon that wants to corrupt humanity, although it is not true. During the 21st century, she was summoned by the supernatural investigator, Elizabeth Johnson, in order to gather some information about the pagan gods.

Appearance[]

If she is beautiful? Guy. She is not known as the goddess of beauty for nothing.
~ Lucifer to her brother, Isaac Smith.

Asherah is known for her supernatural beauty, having been adored for her beauty since she was young. In her goddess form, Asherah appears as a woman with dark skin and dark hair and golden eyes. She was seen wearing a gold dress that covered her bust and waist and left her legs exposed. Her most notable features in her goddess form were her animal characteristics, like the fact that she had instead of human feet she actually had two eagle feet with sharp claws, as well as having beautiful golden wings on her back, which made her have a majestic appearance.

In her human form, Asherah has red eyes and long black hair tied up into twin tails with two black ribbons. On top of her head is a black and gold tiara, along with a golden neck brace and matching "O" shaped earings. In this form, Asherah's clothing is very revealing, with her top being a white bra that is outlined with gold and exposes a bit of cleavage along with her lower back and stomach. On her bottom is a jeweled black-gold thong. She also wears a black stocking on her right leg that has golden ornaments, with her left ankle having a golden bracelet. Her left arm is outfitted with a black and gold glove that covers her forearm, while her left arm has a golden bracelet around her upper-arm.

As Semiramis, Asherah is a tall woman with fair skin and long dark hair. Her eyes are yellowish and small, her ears are pointed, reminiscent of elves. Like her true self, Semiramis had a beautiful physical appearance, being desired by many men. Her attire consisted of a long black dress, which had an opening at the front that exposed her breasts. Her dress was obviously the kind of dress that only the rich women of that time could own.

Personality[]

Asherah when still a human was a vain woman and took great pride in her beauty, which was said to have been blessed by God Himself. Because of this, she truly believed herself to be a goddess, and began to act like one, often interacting and talking to others as if she were superior to people. Because of this, she gained many followers and when she died she became what she really wanted to be, a goddess, worshiped as the goddess of beauty, sexuality, fertility and love. So it was no surprise that something she had was pride, something mentioned by Lucifer herself, that Asherah's sin is pride and vanity.

Regarding her family, it is not known exactly what the goddess' relationship with her parents was like before she died, but it was clear that she cared for her parents, offering them both a dignified burial. The person she cared about most was her brother, Azurade, feeling for him more than brotherly love but conjugal love, and he responded to her feelings. The two ended up getting married and having several children (some sources claim that there were 70 children in all, but it is not known if they had all of this in their lifetime or after becoming gods). After they died, the two together became deities and were worshiped as a couple of supreme gods, and later their children and descendants also came to be worshipped.

In relation to her followers, she has several times shown that she cares for them, though not to the same degree that Amaterasu cares about her followers. The beings she truly hates are the Angels and the person she feels the most repudiation of is Abrahamic God, Yahweh. She feels anger at God for having destroyed her cults, for causing the Flood, and even the destruction of Tower of Babel, that was not carried out by him but by Lucifer, who is another entity that Asherah feels contempt for. Asherah doesn't like Lucifer, however, she admits that she would never have the courage to say that to her face. Asherah is terribly afraid of the Morning Star after she has violently killed her avatar without an ounce of mercy, with just the mention of Lucifer's name being enough to make her nervous. Elizabeth notes that Asherah likely has a psychological trauma from the Light Bringer.

Attack Potency: At least Multi-Solar System level (Lucifer mentions that Asherah is one of the most powerful goddesses of the pantheons, being as powerful or even more than the goddess Amaterasu. Furthermore, even the Cherubim who fell from the sky in the pre-Flood periods were wary of approaching Asherah and El due to their power) | Unknown, likely Multi-Solar System level (After losing her followers that she had around the world, her power diminished greatly, although it is not known exactly how weak she became compared to her former power) | At least Large Town level, possibly Higher (Must be comparable to Amaterasu)

Speed: Unknown, possibly Relativist+ (She must be comparable to other gods like Zeus. She should also be comparable to her husband, El, who like Amaterasu, can cast sunbeams at the speed of light) | Unknown, possibly Relativist+ | Unknown

Durability: At least Multi-Solar System level | Unknown, likely Multi-Solar System level | At least Large Town level, possibly Higher

Stamina: Limitless

Range: Standard melee range. Several meters with her attacks

Standard Equipment: None notable

Intelligence: Very High.

Weaknesses: Asherah being a goddess, gets her power from the faith of human beings, if they stop having faith in her, she ends up weakening. When she assumes a human form, her body can be completely destroyed by opponents stronger than her, it doesn't kill her, unless the opponent has some ability that by affecting her physical body affects her true form, such as Soul Manipulation, Existence Erasure, between others. Remembering that for someone to be able to hurt her true form it is necessary to have the same level of power as her and it is not enough to just destroy the physical form (this is not necessary in the case with a hax that ignores durability and can affect spiritual beings).

Notable Attacks/Techniques:

  • Deity Physiology: Asherah is a goddess, an entity that was originally human and eventually evolved thanks to people's faith in her. Because of this, Asherah has immense power, as people's faith gives enormous power to the figure of worship. This happens because the soul is part of the spirit of God Himself and, because of that, the power emanated indirectly by the human unconscious can make a simple human soul become an extremely powerful entity.
