Archimedes is a minor character within Azure Core, the creator and technical father of Altaire Rivera. He is one of the lead researchers working for Valhalla and the main creator of Altaire, thus his title. Due to his paranoia surrounding Altaire in the first place, he was the main cause of her motivation to escape the facility. In time, and with her return, the two made up and managed to create a familial bond with each other. After saving her from the horrid fate of bearing the weight of existence, he would give her his last lesson as she went to go fight Ymir. To keep moving forward.
Backstory[]
Archimedes was born in the only remaining remnants of human civilization living on a floating continent known as Asgard, in the most secretive and dangerous city that was Prima. Luckily, for the most part, he would remain safe from the various criminal activity and robbers thanks to his own family. Although he never took their name, he was a part of a very influential family in the criminal world. He was meant to be their heir, and their most successful child out of the nine others before him. The burden had its toll on him, and he studied as hard as he could in order to meet their expectations. Day in and day out, he would be stuck in his room, studying and reading through thousands upon thousands of scientific articles and theories. Although his body might've been weak, his mind was strong, and that was what his family wanted out of him.
That was until an unknown organization started to crop up on Asgard. A faction that wanted to bring order to Prima, created by the populace and various other influential families in the criminal world. They had grown tired of the great amount of corruption and tyranny in the city, tired of having to kill one another for mere struggle and survival. But more importantly, their motivation was that of their children. This new faction wanted a city, a world where their children could live in peace and not have to kill one another. Archimedes' parents did not side with them, sitting comfortably in their power and influence. But it was only time until this new organization would defeat all that remained in their way.
Luckily, Archimedes was spared as the rebels and soldiers of this organization had just broke into his room. Now in this new faction, he was confused and disoriented. This would lead to him asking a multitude of questions and tons of answers. This would go back and forth for multiple weeks until he was finally satisfied. So, he tried his best to work with this new faction that called themselves Valhalla in transforming Prima into something better. His participation in the construction was welcomed, and he became one of the lead designers. This all happened during his teenage years, and his intelligence was acknowledged by many. During the reconstruction efforts, he would find a remnant of an age long-past. A set of various disks with a strange name. Thus, began his love for japanese animation, and one of his main inspirations for his magnum opus. But that would not come for a while.
When Valhalla grew to become a great organization dedicated to protecting and fixing the world, Archimedes would rise up its ranks with his immense intellect collected over the years of intense study. He too was dedicated to fixing the world, with his first big project being the construction of a school. For a while, it stayed that way. He occasionally helped with the defenses of Asgard and robotic explorations of the world below, but mostly stayed as a teacher for most of his 20s. It was a comfortable life, until there was a mindbreaking discovery. Temporal energy. Called to study into the strange energy, he would discover what the world had become. Why the world he lived in was such a harsh wasteland. Alongside many other scientists, he almost broke down and told Valhalla about their findings. Things had changed, and now, it was a race to discover how, why, and what could be done to reverse its effects.
Having to abandon his school, Archimedes would begin work on his magnum opus, the greatest creation yet. The creation of a human, of another life. Although his greatest project yet had raised many ethical questions, he would ignore them. Indeed, he wanted to save the world from its endless suffering, but after spending so much time in the school that he taught, he was thinking about becoming a father. This combination of motivations would lead him to start work on Altaire, using the blood of an ancestor long in the ancient past of an already dead timeline along with his own to stabilize her creation. Multiple appeals were made, with a facility built and resources granted.
And she was born. In the year 2376, Archimedes had created life.
Appearance[]
Archimedes looks like a man somewhere in his 30s, despite being much older than that. With green eyes and tanned skin, he looks like he is always in thought due to his neutral expression. He has a slight stubble on his face, a pair of black glasses resting over his eyes. His hair is black, although he has dyed a bang orange just for his own sake. For the most part, he doesn't look like he's that strong, having quite the skinny build. In contrast to his daughter, he is an orderly man, everything about his appearance is for some reason. Whether it be for important reasons, or just because he wanted to. What seems to be an earpiece rests on his left ear, running all the way down to his back torso. Although most of his body is human, he isn't afraid to show what modifications he made to his body. This is especially true when it comes to his hands, robotic hands made out of a sleek yet strong material. The back of the two hands have two slits glowing with a green energy, with the palm of his hands wielding two unique symbols. On his right hand is the symbol of the aquila constellation, and on his left is the symbol of the ouroboros. Both reminders of why he did this to himself.
Archimedes does have a sense of fashion, if very little. He wears a combination of both a sweater and a cuban collar shirt underneath, both being light brown. The shirt in it of itself is combined with an orange tie, disappearing into the sweater. Over it all is a white overcoat, with a pocket sewn in to hold what seems to be a pen. For his lower parts, he tries to combine a sense of comfort and style with dark gray twill chinos along with a belt of the same color. Amongst all of this, he simply wears a pair of black socks and loafers for his feet. On the right side of his overcoat is both the logo of Valhalla and the symbol bearing his rank in the organization. The symbol is the logo of Valhalla itself, a snowflake. But instead of stripes, he had designed it himself alongside other scientists to show their importance to Valhalla. Within the snowflake are a variety of scientific symbols. Of atoms, flasks, lines of DNA, and the raven twins in Norse mythology; Huginn and Muninn.
Personality[]
For most of his life, Archimedes was a quiet man. He hardly talked and hardly interacted with anyone, enjoying his time in his lonesome. For most of the time is spent exploring his own interests and working on his own projects. Perhaps it was because of his childhood he was this way or not, that is unknown. But as he grew up, he would eventually come to find a greater enjoyment in being able to interact with others. Still an introvert at heart, he tries his hardest to talk with others and befriend them. With each project, he tries his hardest to show his passion and his emotional investment into such. Finally, at the height of his life when creating his daughter, Archimedes was a much more expressive individual. He wore his emotions on his sleeves and jumping into action at any time. Wherever he went, laughs were sure to follow. Perhaps that is where Altaire gained some of her own personality from.
But at the same time, Archimedes is a caring person, trying his best for the people around him. Part of this is in thanks to his childhood, where he could feel the weight and burden of his success, expectation his yoke. It is why he had created so many restrictions and tried his hardest to keep Altaire away from the outside world, because he didn't want her to act like he once did. He wanted to try and keep Altaire away from her true duty as much as possible. Suffice it to say that his emotional side is much stronger than his logical side. If there is one definite thing he is good at, it is just like his daughter, the uncanny ability to feel and connect with another's emotions. Like an empath, he could feel another's emotions as if it was his own. But when it comes to greater and more turbulent emotions, it becomes difficult to keep his own self together.

- The Infinite Backpack: This backpack is the culmination of Archimedes' immense knowledge, considering how it can be used as a technically infinite storage space. It takes on the appearance of a metallic backpack that can sprout mechanical arms of its own to produce beams, lattices, and matrices of energy. Within is a unique pocket dimension that allows Archimedes to pull out any of his technology from a consistently expanding space that responds to his own thoughts and desires. Within here is all of his technology at his hands, with weapons such as antimatter rifles and pistols, tesseracts, and devices capable of harnessing and even using temporal energy.
- Electromagnetic Repulsors: These devices are installed directly into Archimedes' hands, being capable of releasing pulses and fields of unique electromagnetic energy he is capable of manipulating to move objects and make certain things float in the air. It is easy to tell when they are being used, as they release a turquoise glow from the palms of his hands and you can even see the field of electromagnetism surrounding the object, or target. While they are not built for combat, he has been shown to be able to use them in creative ways.
- Exo-Suit MKII: After the first construction of the exo-suit used by various pilots, Archimedes would improve upon its design and would later create the exo-suit he and many others use now, for self-defense. Its main purpose was to help in reconstruction efforts of the world along with basic protection of others. But after the encounters with the life on the Earth, Archimedes would modify it with a variety of offensive purposes. The suit in question is installed with antimatter rifles, energy projectors, and even matter extractors, which can transmute and modify the atomic structure of objects and, well, matter.
Intelligence: Supergenius (Archimedes is a massively intelligent character, being one of the lead researchers in Valhalla, creating much of the tech they rely on. Helped rebuild the society of Prima and almost entirely redesigned Asgard itself, a massive floating continent that was the culmination of the world's entire knowledge. The weaponry he has made are capable of using antimatter for weaponry and could harness temporal energy, an unstable energy source that baffled everyone until he stepped in to analyze it)
Weaknesses: His emotions can often make him think irrationally to the point of shutting out all other external noise and advice of those around him. Can often be stubborn when it comes to making certain decisions, even in combat. Although he has developed a resistance to the radioactive effects of temporal energy, greater amounts are lethal and could possibly kill him almost instantly.
- While he was still a teenager, he helped redesign nearly the entirety of Asgard and helped to reconfigure the entire social structure of Prima itself.
- The weapons he created when he was first brought into Valhalla are still used by employees by the time the main story starts and ends.
- Although not as powerful as other characters in fiction, he was capable of calculating various futures and actions, though his limit seems to be about a dozen.
- Discovered multiple flaws in his biological and organic self and performed surgery on himself without any help.
- Created every device he uses.
- Rose to be one of the lead researchers of Valhalla.
- Title as lead researcher is only given to those who have shown to be exceptionally intelligent and have performed feats that would put them at Extraordinary Genius levels of intelligence, such as being able to create perpetual motion machines or creating near life-like simulations.
- Created multiple devices that allowed him to temporarily access the higher vibratory space in which the infinite universes are embedded within.
- Another device was capable of fine-tuning a frequency to the point where it was capable of altering probability.
- Was able to create an entire universe in the higher vibratory space and could even create a supercomputer to record its history and timeline.
- Discovered and is incredibly knowledgeable about the fundamental nature of reality and existence.
- Figured out and decoded what temporal energy was in the first place, which was a strange energy that baffled even the most intelligent of researchers in Valhalla before he arrived.
- His mechanical eye was capable of scanning and replicating the martial arts of a manifestation of combat.
Notable Attacks/Techniques:
That Which Remains: After being exposed to such Temporal energy in his life, Archimedes has not only gained a resistance to its effects, but also the ability to manipulate such. Thus, allowing him to access the fundamental nature of destroyed timelines that came before the world that he exists within now. Manipulating such a fundamental remnant of that which existed allows him to enforce their effects onto the current reality. These such effects are absolute in nature, unless met by itself. This allows him to create forcefields of energy that is capable of nullifying anything or beams of energy that bypass any defenses. It is even capable of altering the fabric of reality itself and if enough is gathered, be used to create an entirely new universe.
