Summary[]
Ainz Whitley is a character in Divine Substitutes, an RP that takes place within the Eden era of Deus Ex Gyrus. They are the substitute Champion of Tesseract, replacing Excelion.
A young prodigy born on a colony in Mars, Ainz was exposed to a life of crime from an early age. Ainz was born into a corrupt family of white-collar criminals, and taught in the family business. By the age of ten, the child knew how to wield a gun, and was a prodigy programmer and roboticist. Ultimately, however, the crimes of the Whitley family caught up with them, and Ainz was left without parents as they were shipped off to prison.
Instead of being placed in foster care, Ainz’s potential was evident in the eyes of the UWM, and he was thus placed in the Black Swan Assassin Organization, apprenticing under Zephyr Highwind. The two are quite close, and Ainz is understandably distraught at Zephyr’s disappearance, but eager to step up as a champion to protect the World Tree in his stead.

- Deucalion Armor: A high-tech suit of armor that Ainz wears at all times. This Exo Suit was Ainz’s pride and joy as an artificer, built originally for use with an Arc Reactor, but later becoming usable due to Ainz’s Alpha Gene allowing them to control the technology through contact. The armor is quite tough in its own right, and has a molecular reconfiguration device that allows it to change its shape into various articles of clothing. Most notably, however, it is Modular, and Ainz has developed various additions to it over the years that they can swap out with a little bit of time. The armor, in fact, contains various slots upon which Ainz can connect their Technology.
- Hardlight Sabers: Forearm-mounted Sabers made of hardlight, which are very wide-bladed, allowing them to be used for both offense and defense.
- Concussion Cannon: Originally made as a more environmentally-friendly thruster, this failed design was reshaped into a cannon on Ainz’s right arm that fires a concussive blast of compressed air which hits with powerful force.
- Laser-Cutter: A wrist-mounted Laser Cutter on Ainz’s left arm which projects a prismatic heat ray that can cut through Melissa’s star-infused chain in a matter of seconds, and instantly slice through a metal catwalk.
- Thrusters: Thrusters built into the legs which allow Ainz to fly around at Mach 2. They can also be used to increase the power of Ainz’s kicks, thrusting them into a target’s head.
- Forcefield Projector: A projector built into the chest which can project a hard-light forcefield in front of Ainz. The shield is slightly curved, and is useful for protecting against direct attacks, though less so against omnidirectional ones.
- Optical Camouflage: A device which can reshape the surface of the armor with a unique material that allows it to refract light, turning the armor nearly invisible to the naked eye. While a keen eye can still track it, it makes Ainz much more difficult to detect with visual methods.
- Visor: A retractable visor built into the armor’s helmet that allows Ainz to see in X-Ray vision.
- Nyx: An onboard AI contained within the Deucalion Armor. This AI aids Ainz with their natural hacking abilities, and can interface with alien and foreign technology, allowing Ainz to access and hack into essentially any system they can recognize. It also serves the role of data manager, preventing Ainz from being distracted while they're working.
- Headphones: Seemingly normal headphones, this audio device has one of Ainz's telepathic communicators built into it, allowing them to listen to music while they talk to others.
- Phone: Appearing as a normal cell phone, Nyx is connected to this device, making it more advanced than any modern-day smartphone and allowing Ainz to hack on the go.
- Tracker: A tracker Ainz can slip onto opponents. When this is active, it displays their current location, projecting a 3D scan of the environment via echolocation and displaying it with its sister piece that Ainz keeps a hold of by projecting microlasers onto the dust and particles in the air, creating a physical space.
- Telepathic Communicator: A set of at least nine telepathic communicators that can be placed into the ears of others. These devices pick up on the Lucirian within a person's body, allowing them to communicate with each other from long distances.
- Plasma Cannon: A shoulder-mounted cannon that can fire bursts of green plasma, and is retractable in nature.
- Columbian Weather Drones: Miniaturized weather drones from Columbia, built into the back of the Songbird Suit. These drones allow Ainz a limited control over Localized Weather, allowing them to fly with wind, create small tornadoes to launch at opponents, project lightning, and generate small storm clouds.
- Diamond Cannon: A cannon powered by diamonds and located in the Mecha's left arm, which focuses energy into it to fire a large blast of Cyan magic that can push back Titan Eren.
- Firework Rockets: A series of Firework rockets fired from the Mecha's shoulders. These rockets home in on opponents before exploding into a series of colorful sparks and light bursts.
- Electric Cleaver: A massive sword located in the Mecha's right arm, which can fold out with the press of a button. This sword sparks with electricity at its edge, and could clash with Eren's axe.
- Piston Fists: The Mecha's gauntlets, which are powered by Redstone Piston technology, allowing Ainz to throw punches at incredible speed and velocity, cratering the chest of Eren's titan form and even briefly overpowering him.
Intelligence: Extraordinary Genius. Ainz was born with exceptional intelligence and ability, learning how to effectively hack and use complex computer functions by the age of 10, to the degree that they could excel in an organization full of trained adults. Designed a working blueprint for a Warp Drive that would allow the city-sized Star Dragon Olympus to breach its universe's dimensional barrier and access the Void Beyond. Has been personally trained by Zephyr in combat, built their Deucalion Armor on their own, and is able to keep up with Zephyr and Excelion in terms of item creation due to their natural skill with robotics, the latter being a Droedar with intelligence and scientific knowledge that far surpasses that of any earthling... except, of course, for Ainz. Skilled in hardlight, weapons development, engineering, physics, and energy studies. Has designed blueprints and successfully created various mecha, weapons, starships, and other technological devices. Hacked into the entirety of New York City's electronic devices to broadcast Theodore's challenge. Was capable of constructing a fully working car out of scraps and jury-rigged materials. Notable Attacks and Techniques:
- Nanotechnology: When Ainz sustained a lethal wound before meeting the other substitutes, they had a mechanical core installed into their body, laced with nanomachines to keep their heart running. Later, Ainz had this core removed, but still retained the nanites. These microscopic machines feed off of sugars, and provide Ainz with energy and nutrients. This means that Ainz is able to effectively live off of candy and only a small amount of other food, and can stay awake for days on end, fighting all the while, with no side effects.
- Alpha Gene: A minor Alpha Gene awakened by being injected with Alpha Steroids. The Alpha Gene determines a person's ability to cast magic without the need of a wand or focus. Ainz's Alpha Gene is Technopathy; through physical contact, Ainz can communicate and interface with any machine or technology that they come across, allowing them to augment their hacking abilities and wear the Deucalion armor without the need of an Arc Reactor.
- Hacking Ability: Unique among Ainz's talents is their ability to hack and interface with machinery. Even without aid by their Alpha Gene, Ainz can type at over 200 words per minute, and with their self-proclaimed "Hacking Mode Times Two Speed" (Initiated by eating candy), they can do this even faster. Ainz has shown the ability to hack into Visions Inc.'s secret files, outhack The Thinker, a hyper-intelligent detective whose brain gives him infinite time to think of solutions to problems, and hack into every news channel and television in New York City to issue a challenge to Jack of Hearts.
- Purgatory Incinerator: A makeshift attack combining Transmutation and the Darkness Energy of the Reactor Might. Ainz transmutes both of his gauntlets into a large cannon to release all charged darkness energy in the form of a large beam, which was able to push back Leviathan.
- Tesseract: One of the Eight Chaos Elements, the term used by the gods of Eden for the eight colors of Aether that they hold dominion over. The Chaos Elements are each composed of the fundamental information that shapes all concepts, being the stuff from which reality springs forth. Ainz, in particular, holds dominion over Blue Aether, or "Tesseract". Taking on hues ranging from blue to cyan, Tesseract commands the element of Creation, making up all physical matter in the World Tree. Tesseract is wielded by the Divine Architect, Lindzei, and as a side effect of its usage, the Wielder runs the risk of gaining an increased sense of authority and even identity loss. Ainz, however, possesses such a bombastic and chaotic personality that they are able to mitigate this greatly.
- Creation Manipulation: Users of Tesseract are able to manipulate the raw subatomic creation energy that comprises all matter in the universe. Breaking down subatomic particles yields tiny amounts of Tesseract in the form of cubes so imaginably tiny even the most powerful nanoscopes can't see them, and Tesseract users are able to manipulate these unbreakable cubes, enchanting items with them to make said items nearly unbreakable, although it decreases their flexibility. Ainz can use this to "Lock" their armor, freezing in place while making the Deucalion nigh-invulnerable in response to a high-level attack. They can also create invulnerable, if simple weapons out of pure Tesseract.
- After Dark Hunters, Ainz acquired a greater level of control over their created Weapons, able to create constructs like Chains and Crossbows.
- Anvils: Ainz can manifest an Anvil upon which the power of their Forgemaster's Hammer is increased.
- Matter Manipulation: One of the core, though most difficult aspects of Tesseract is the ability to manipulate Matter. Ainz is able to transmute matter on touch, allowing them to trigger chemical reactions without the need for a catalyst like flame. They can also control the nearby terrain to form pitfalls or spikes, among other things, and has enough precision to alter their technology using this to a degree, changing its shape and size. Ainz is also able to refine materials, turning any solid material they can get their hands on into a solid, workable ingot without impurities, giving them easy access to whatever that material may be.
- Empowerment: Like all champions, Ainz draws power from sources of their element. In Ainz's case, they become stronger around symbols of mortal and divine ingenuity, growing more powerful in urban environments and near grand architectural feats.
- Technology Manipulation: A major aspect of Tesseract is that the user gains mastery over technology. Simply by touching an object, Ainz is able to appraise its structure, gaining a blueprint of it within their head by scanning its entire form, learning of its composition, inner workings, and intended purpose, as well as any hidden abilities or functions it may have that aren't visible to the untrained eye. Similarly, Ainz can create a hologram-like blueprint in the air, based on things they have appraised or created in the past, allowing for easier construction of it by sliding pieces into the blueprint perfectly. Ainz can deconstruct machines into their raw parts by making physical contact with them, as shown when they deconstructed the Guardians. Conversely, they can also put these parts together by using Tesseract to manipulate them more succinctly.
- Data Cubes: Ainz is able to compress their machines and creations into small cubes of Tesseract, containing the raw data of whatever it is that they’ve created. These cubes, while they can be lost, are indestructible, and can only be activated by a tesseract manipulator. This essentially allows them to store any item within a tiny space, letting them carry much more on their person.
- Appraisal: Ainz's first Tesseract ability; They are able to appraise machines to determine their inner workings and functions, being able to detect things like serial numbers and override codes. After finishing Nevada, Ainz gained the ability to directly appraise individual materials to understand their chemical makeup and properties.
- Diamond Skin: A combat-related Tesseract ability. The previous champion, Excelion, had this on at all times due to his Tesseract body. Ainz can coat their skin in a thin tesseract layer, giving it a crystalline-like pattern across it and briefly increasing their durability fivefold. However, it drastically lowers Ainz's movement speed to match.
- Reinforcement: Similar to Diamond Skin, though more precise. Ainz is able to reinforce and enhance the properties of objects, allowing them to, say, increase the sharpness of a blade, the durability of a shield, or the conductivity of a wire. Reinforcements must be actively applied, and only a single reinforcement can be placed onto an object at any given point. Ainz can also leave reinforcements on objects, allowing them to keep objects reinforced without touching them.
