Summary[]
The Metaverse is an original work exploring the very original idea- "What if superheroes were real?"
At a glance this world is similar to our own: countries and culture largely resemble the ones that exist in real life. But the history diverges, you see. In 2000, a meteor breaks up over the atmosphere, depositing various large fragments across the world; the largest of which lands in New York harbor and severely damages New York City. In the decades afterwards, certain children grow up with enhanced strength, enhanced reflexes, and some with strange and odd powers. Called metahumans, their rise to adulthood sees with it a changing world and an alternate history that diverges from our 2000, being both similar and not similar at the same time.The current "year" of the story is 2035.
Much of the story takes place in the Los Angeles metropolitan area, though there are other tales unfolding around the world, and above.
Power of the Verse[]
Especially when compared to the other denizens of this wiki, the metahumans of the Metaverse seem to be extraordinarily weak. With a few exceptions, most of them are Tier 9 physically, with their powers usually putting them into Tier 8 and 7. In the Metaverse, the power of metahumans is ranked on a one-to-five scale, One being the most powerful and Five being the weakest. The so-called "Ones" of the Metaverse would probably be placed from Tier 7 to Tier 5 as according to the VS Wiki scale.
